Kick ass knife!
I cook a lot and use a wide variety of tools in the kitchen. That being said, this is by far my favorite. It's incredibly sharp from the factory, the craftsmanship surprised me in the best of ways, the weight and balance of the knife is spot on for my liking. I was uncertain about this purchase initially but I am so glad I went this route. Just go for it! You will be pleased

This Chinese Vegetable Cleaver is now a staple at my cutting board.
I've used this 7-inch Chinese Chef's knife for a couple of months or so. It was received sharp out of the box. This knife is quite visually impressive, well finished, attractive, and easy to handle. Packaging was more than acceptable too. The shape of the blade combined with the luster of the Pakkawood handle is stunning and immediately captured my attention. Its looks begged me to search for finishing flaws. I couldn't find any. The fit and finishing of my 7-inch Vegetable Cleaver is impeccable. The balance point seems to be located perfectly at the location of my pinch grip just forward of the bolster, which is remarkable for a cleaver-type blade. The push cut performance of this knife on vegetables is really great. You would expect this knife to excel at chopping...and it truly does. It's edge and it's heft make quick work of carrots and potatoes while it's still nimble and sharp enough to slice delicate herbs such as Italian Parsley. I like using this TUO Vegetable Cleaver knife so much, it has quickly become my go-to knife and it remains within immediate reach of the cutting board. Honing on the Chef'sChoice Pronto Pro Diamond Hone 4643 keeps this knife in wonderful shape. This knife is an excellent value and I think most home cooks like me will be very pleased with this TUO Chinese vegetable cleaver. Other than a multiple knife discount for purchasing several TUO Fiery Phoenix series knives at the same time as this purchase, I've not been compensated in any way for my review. In truth, since this purchase, I now very much favor TUO knives and own a variety of knives from TUO's Fiery Phoenix series, the B&W series, and I even bought three knives from the TUO Ring series. GOOD stuff! UPDATE, 9/27/17: I am so impressed with this particular knife, I purchased my second 7-inch Vegetable Cleaver during a Lightning Deal. I felt I wanted a spare on hand in case this production knife was discontinued in the far-off future. If TUO Cutlery were to produce this particular blade shape in VG-10 steel with a Damascus finish, I would purchase it in a heartbeat. This knife is just stellar as is! But a VG-10 steel blade with a Damascus finish will make this knife even more appealing than the current Five-star rating this knife has already earned to date.

These knives are exactly what they should be
Look... It's a "german steel" kitchen knife for under $50. Don't expect absolute top of the line. With that said, they blow my Calphalon knives out of the water. Super sharp out of the box, and seem very durable. I've seen some reviews saying that the back tab falls off. I'm guessing these went through the dishwasher, but I don't know for sure. I would NOT soak these in the sink or put them in the dishwasher (you really shouldn't put anything wood in the dishwasher, which should be common sense). Very pleased with the purchase.

Exceeded my expectations
I originally just wanted a second set to use when I send my Shuns out for sharpening or have guests to use. These arrived and I put them through the full paces in the kitchen today. All I have to say is WOW. They feel SOLID. Comfortable and quality. The handle complaints (about it not being wood) I don’t understand. It has a thick coating like many high end knives do (as well as Shuns) to withstand years of washing etc. nothing seems artificial to me. The blades are extremely sharp and true. Handled as good we my Shuns!!! At a quarter of the price. I’m going to get the full set of these or maybe their Ring line which is their higher end, now that I know this company is completely legit. ***update after 18 months*** I’ve used these everyday. I gone after every other use and sharpen every couple of weeks (everyday use). They are still as good as I bought them. Holding up super well. Blade steel isn’t as hard as shun (almost) but good enough if doing minimal maintenance. Super value buy.

Great quality for the price
The blade is very well crafted and it very sharp. My girlfriend has always wanted one and now that she has it, she uses it all the time! It’s great for chopping but also slicing meat because of how sharp it is. It comes in a great box with a polishing cloth (similar to a eye glasses cloth). Overal, a quality Christmas present this year and worth the price.

Price is perfect
For the money this knife costs....its quite amazing. Extremely sharp, handle and pinch grip is very comfortable. Looks beautiful and even comes in a nice box. I'm not a professional chef but I love to cook, I have tried knives from CutCo, Calphalon and some custom Damascus blades. This runs with them all

It's all true...
Omg.. this thing is GORGEOUS!!! It looks just as good as in the pictures. I'm stunned, and honestly a little obsessed. Beautifully crafted, super sharp, with a really unique and awesome design. This is easily the best knife I've ever owned. and such a deal- Paid $34, worth way more! (so I don't mind that it has no sheath. The box it came in is very nice, well fit.) I've read the reviews carefully- Yes, it does say 'meat cleaver' right on the blade. No- this is not a thin bladed or 'light' knife. It's really strong, definitely feels stout, but not too heavy, with excellent balance so as to still be nimble. The curve or 'rocker' of the blade is what initially attracted me, plus having plenty of room under the handle for the knuckles. The bolster is nice and smooth too, so no weird blister spots if you choke up on the blade like I tend to. Excellent materials, meticulous finish, a lifetime knife. (I know I sound like an ad. I'm just so excited lol) When I first saw the description I chuckled when I read "So, after hundreds of day and night designing and trials by our TUO Cutlery kitchen knife team, we devoleped this Firey Series Kitchen Knives." Now I say- Good job TUO Cutlery Kitchen Knife Team! Really well done~

Nice, heavy knife - my go-to when I need to do lots of chopping/cutting
A nice, heavy knife that's very comfortable to use, and rather beautifully crafted for a $30 knife. I love the heft and the shape of the blade; I feel like I have more control over the cutting edge compared to a chef's knife. I have used this knife for chopping vegetables, cutting down big fruits, breaking down poultry, and slicing large hunks of meat. Take care of the blade: dry and store it immediately after washing, and sharpen it regularly. I also purchased a knife sheath to protect myself and the cutting edge, as this product does not come with one other than the box it is packaged in (a nice box but maybe too clunky to store in normally). A great knife for both the casual cook at such a low price, or a more enthusiastic amateur chef! I'm not a pro so I can't speak to that, but I love this knife.

Knife culture is out of control!
If you're looking for a big heavy knife of this shape, then you should buy this. It's good for cutting pizza, quesadillas, meat, meat with bone, meat again - without bone again, meat, garbage, and pizza. It cuts the living daylights out of vegetables but I like using a straight cleaver better if I'm dicing or want thin slices. For everything else, this knife slaps. You don't need a meteorite knife or a $200 or more bespoke hand forged weapon. For 99% of people, it won't be appreciably better for you than this. If you're a chef, you already know which knife you want. Stop reading this. THIS THING HAS WEIGHT So if you're of delicate constitution, you may want a less robust knife for an extended chop sesh. Get a knife sharpener because you need one anyway, but get a nice one and sharpen this bad boy once a year or something.

Great Chopper for big hands
I bought this along with some other items to explore Asian/indian cooking. love it, the weight is good, very sharp and the pakawood is smooth warm and primitive. not sure how the edge will hold up, but I enjoy sharpening and this is available in a 62+ hardness (for additional money). if your thinking about getting an ungodly expensive competitor? unless you are a pro, reconsider; for under $200 total I was able to get the knives, board, scale, wok, sushi kit, and thermometer. Thanks Tuo Cutlery, you are making affordable cooking dreams come true!
