Very powerful antioxidant for overcoming mitochondrial dysfunction

I have quite the story to share of why at just 23 years old I take a supplement as powerful as this, and how it helps me in such marvelous ways. 5 months ago, I was prescribed ciprofloxacin for an infection. I took just 1 pill and it caused a horrible chain reaction throughout my body known as fluoroquinolone toxicity. I am 23 years old and I felt like I had suddenly become 80, and this is no exaggeration, I was lucky to not become paralyzed or have my achilles tendons rupture as is known to happen. As the few doctors I went to had no knowledge of this disease or how to treat it, I had to tackle it myself with the help of the thousands of others available in online support groups, also forced to tackle it themselves. I steadily built up a regimen of recommended supplements to overcome the tendon pain, brain fog, peripheral neuropathy, and many other symptoms. Through my research I found that fluoroquinolones can drastically reduce natural glutathione supply through mitochondrial dysfunction releasing reactive oxygen species (ROS). I had built up many other antioxidants into my regimen, including Pterostilbene also from Double Wood. All of these helped me greatly, but none helped me as much as the S-acetyl L-glutathione. This supplement has completely turned this disease around for me, reducing symptoms and their frequency greatly. I had previously tried NAC, whey protein, and liposomal glutathione as alternative therapies, but they did not perform nearly as well. With this supplement, I see much better results and have absolutely gotten rid of my peripheral neuropathy, brain fog, dry skin, fatigue, and and many other symptoms. As fluoroquinolone toxicity is basically advanced aging due to reactive oxygen species attacking the body constantly, I can say that for me this is truly the ultimate anti-aging pill. The benefits over liposomal glutathione as I understand them - the acetyl group is attached to the sulfur atom of cysteine which protects all of the glutathione from digestion and allows it to get naturally deacetylated in the cells. This means that the sulfur-carrying amino acids cannot be broken up, which protects against glutamate/GABA balance issues (NAC and liposomal glutathione excited my peripheral neuropathy, where this does not) and genetic sulfur sensitivity. Anyone who feels like they are just getting too old too fast (joint pain, dry skin, mental issues, fatigue), I would highly recommend this supplement. As a second anti-aging recommendation, I would include Double Wood's Pterostilbene combined with nicotinamide riboside, which has been proven to increase NAD+ levels in a study titled "Repeat dose NRPT increases NAD+ levels in humans safely and sustainably".

WELL WORTH THE MONEY FOR THE ENERGY AND WELL BEING IT PROVIDES

I love this product!!! My pharmacist who consults/specializes in naturopathic medicine and thyroid disorders recommended this to me for hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue. I took it for two months straight and definitely felt better rested, had more energy throughout the day, and just felt better overall. I ran out of this while traveling and there was about two weeks I went without it, and I definitely noticed more fatigue and less overall well being without it. I am ordering and stocking up this. WELL WORTH THE MONEY FOR THE ENERGY AND WELL BEING IT PROVIDES. I have also used a liposomal form of Glutathione in the past and I much prefer this. Update: I ran out of this product over the holidays, and being a procrastinator, took a few weeks to reorder it. While not using the product, I had way less energy, my adrenal fatigue significantly worsened, and I gained significant weight (probably because I was more exhausted, leading to less working out, worse food choices, etc). Within a week of restarting it again, I noticed a huge burst in energy and mile decrease in my appetite/cravings as well. The headaches that had increased over the holidays also dissipated. I cannot say enough positive things about this product, and I'm so glad they maintain it at a very affordable price. Thank you Double Wood!! I'll be sure to stay well stocked in the future.

Lab Tested and Proven

I heard about Acetyl L-Glutathione (AL-G) being more orally bioavailable than its non-acetylated forms but was still skeptical so I decided to run a small experiment. I bought a bottle of Double Wood's (AL-G) and before starting use had blood work done and received my current liver values (AST and ALT). At the time of testing the only other supplements I had been taking was a Men's multivitamin. Diet is very clean consisting of mostly vegetables and some red meat and poultry added sparingly. Also very active and exercise everyday. These three conditions remained constant throughout the experiment. - Took one capsule at 7 AM and 7 PM every day for 30 days. - At the end of the 30 days I returned to the doc to get blood work done and get a fix on where my liver values we're at. - AST and ALT liver values had improved significantly. There were also other noticeable changes throughout the 30 day use. The first week of use produced an odd and perhaps off-putting body order when working out, this went away by day 8. I felt as if I had more energy throughout the day and workouts had a noticeable increase in intensity. Sleep improved as well as mental clarity. Overall it was a great detox component and has potential to be combined with other detox supplements. This was my experience with AL-G and everyone's biochemistry is different but I would recommend you give it a shot!

Effective AND Affordable

I started taking astaxanthin about a year ago. I realized how great I felt after, but I had to take 12mg of it twice daily. The bottle had only 50 12mg soft gels and was about the same price as this product. I found out a few months ago that astaxanthin boosts glutathione production. So I tried this product. Wow. Not only is it more potent than astaxanthin, it LASTS LONGER than astaxanthin. This form may cost more than the REDUCED form, but if you compare this brand of s-actyl with other brands, its very affordable. Most importantly, it's YOUR LIFE. If you really need glutathione, I would recommend this brand because it's EFFECTIVE and AFFORDABLE. The only precaution I would take when taking this (long term) is to also invest in a ZINC supplement, as this will cause your body to use up zinc. I think 12mg of zinc per 1 capsule might be a good ratio. If you take fish oil, I recommend taking one of these with it to prevent the omega 3 fatty acids from oxidizing. (Vitamin E also has a similar effect, but vitamin E is a weak antioxidant compared to this).

A supplement for brain executive function

Well they sent me an email saying they had a new product on Amazon and if I bought one and wrote a review they would give me two additional bottles free. They came to the right person. I'm 75 now and for at least ten or twelve years I've been fooling around with glutamate/glutathione. I wrote a review here 3 or 4 years ago about Kirkland high energy B100 vitamins effectiveness probably being because of their added glutamine/arginine/taurine mixture. Since the Kirkland vitamins were no longer available I recommended in the review and have been mixing Swanson versions of those amino acids together in tiny quantities and adding them to my coffee. I used the mixture especially when I had a project to accomplish. I've been particularly sensitive I think, to the benefits of glutamate in strong green tea. Getting down to basics, this seems to be a more intense form--the Glutathione is the desired end product of taking glutamate. It gives me the results I want--more brain executive function/focus/get things done/feeling of 'normality." In common parlance I suppose you would say it 'gives me energy." But what actually happens (although there is some perceived focus effect) is that I don't feel different when I take it--feel more like I used to feel, and get more things done. I still think the other two amino acids I mentioned help and will continue to take them (and be alert for better forms). This is a rather esoteric supplement/antioxidant and I'm hoping for more long range antioxidant/anti-aging effects, but I've only been taking it a few days, we shall see.

Great for adrenal fatigue!

This product is amazing! I had severe adrenal fatigue, and this helped me with my energy levels immediately. For me, it took about 2 hours after taking it to feel the effects. I take it in the morning and early afternoon. I can't take it too late or else I can't sleep, but if I take it before 4 pm, I'm good. I tried other supplements and this by far was the best!

Increased energy and unexpected freedom from craving sugar

I have only been taking this product for 3 weeks, but I plan on taking it for the rest of my life. It is truly one of the best supplements I've ever used. Within a couple days I felt more mentally alert and had a higher energy level. That alone was worth the price, but I didn't expect that the sugar and carbohydrate addiction I've always had would greatly decrease. My cravings generally had me bingeing on baked goods several times a week and craving them all the time. Now I've been low carb for several weeks and I feel completely in control.

this product helped me a lot. i developed a condition called adrenal insufficiency after my auto accident from the flight or fight and the constant pains. Depleted adrenals are extremely difficult to repair and it takes time. however, when i added this product to my regime, i saw a significant improvement almost right away. i learned that glutathione is an essential component in repairing depleted adrenals. i am so glad for this product. i have been taking this for almost a month and so looking forward to see what happens after 2 months.

Fighting autoimmune disease

I ordered these to boost my immune system. I have an overactive thyroid which turned into Grave’s disease. This is an autoimmune reaction of my body. So I decided to fight back and strengthen my immune system. Happy to report that after 2 months of starting taking these I was able to lower my thyroid medication (taking only 10 mg of Tapazole instead of 2times 10 mg). I am on the way of recovery and hopefully will get back my thyroid to normal with the help of this supplement.
