A great solution for most modern TVs. The Breakout boxes for component and cables for component that are good quality are getting harder and harder to find. And can cost twice what this costs and you might still need and HDMI converter box on top of that. Some TVs might need manual adjustment for the screen sizing either from the xbox or Tv. You would have to do the same for a component break out box or cables set up. Some XBOX Systems might have some minor distortion due to the production run of your XBOX not having enough RF shielding. If this occurs it will occur not matter which cable you use. You might have to just hunt down component cables and and HDMI box.

Holy smokes, DEFINITELY worth the $30! I haven't played my original Xbox in a long time because it just looks terrible on my HDTV using the standard AV connectors. This HD link cable works great and as advertised. It will not give you 1080p, so don't expect it, and most of my games play at 480i, but way better than before and breathes new life into my old console. If you have ever played an original Xbox game on an Xbox 360 using HDMI, your games will basically look like that.

Up front...this device is hit or miss depending on your XBOX version and your TV. To the person that said this conversion box doesn’t work with 4K TV’s is completely wrong. I’ve tried this conversion box with both my LG 4K TV and my Samsung curved Ultra 4K TV...both worked flawlessly with no artifacts or lines or issues of any kind. To the person that mentioned the Volantech unit...sure that box seems to function better across more consoles, but still requires an additional set of component cables to plug into it (not to mention audio as well). AND requires a connection to power...too many cables which most of us want to get away from. I was still using my original Microsoft branded component video break-out box until I bought this piece (and I sold it on eBay for $50). To the person that mentioned buying Monster Cable branded cables...you’re a fool if you think spending that much money will get you any better quality picture. Electrons are stupid. All that being said...this thing works great for me and may not for you. It’s worth trying for $25.

First I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who designed this cable. As a gamer looking for the best picture quality at a reasonable price you all hit the nail on the head. I know you all had your hiccups with launching this cable but I'm glad you all are isolated and corrected the problem as best you could. I know you all could not foresee possibility of old capacitors and conflicts with dirty power possibly even provided by the power supply within the old xbox before you all went into production. Most people use a stock machine that has aged and when you have dirty power internally on the machine you get wavy lines in the picture. Now the unit I purchased from you all I thought had an issue but truly didn't. It was 100% both of my machines. For my fellow consumers... The newest version that Pound supplied me can operate off the 5v pin directly from the multi out on the Xbox as well as external power through USB. (Note: you cannot just use the USB option.) Now with that said when I use my Xbox HD pak & component cables I do not get noise in the picture. But when I used to pound cable with and without external power I get noise (waves) in the picture. I tried it on different consoles and the same problem on all of them, some was worse than others. Which led me to believe that it was not the pound cable really truly causing the problem. It was actually the Xbox(s) as Pound Technology stated in their videos about the matter. To alleviate my problem and provide a suggestion for Pound Technologies, I clipped the black wire for pin 1 that provides 5v power to the converter. This allows me to ONLY use the USB external power & get a crystal clear picture without any noise. But my suggestion for Pound Technologies would be to have your manufacturer add a on off switch for the 5v that comes from the Xbox so you can strictly use external power if you choose to or need to. As an extra suggestion I also recommend future pound cables to include the optical output for surround sound. Now don't get me wrong with where I took this I highly recommend these cables. You simply cannot beat a $30 solution when the HD pack when it's hitting $80 now. And as a side note, I know others have had issues with picture being dark. My suggestion and from personal experience, first make sure you have your Xbox set to allow 480p/720p/1080i, then make sure your TV is set to Game Mode, and last also try different TV. Not all TVs are made equal and interpret video signals correctly when it comes older devices.

I'm not an AV nerd. I'm not a modder. I'm not someone who digs into the hidden settings in his electronics trying to tweak them to the nth degree. I'm just a guy with a TV that doesn't have a component input, and an Xbox that requires it. For that purpose, this cable from POUND worked beautifully on a softmodded Xbox. No flicker in the video, no cutting out, no input lag that is perceptible by me. Plug it into the Xbox, plug the included HDMI cable (glad they include it even though a cheaper version of a similar product probably wouldn't - even though HDMI cables are cheap online, it's still a pain to realize you don't have any handy in your house) into the POUND cable, and then plug a MicroUSB (this isn't included and probably should be) cable into the USB slot in your television just to be sure you have a solid power supply to the POUND cable. Aaaaaand, done! Works beautifully for me. I'm very glad I bought it and didn't go too far down a hobbyist rabbit hole that I'm simply not a part of.

I bought this in January 2019. if there were manufacturing errors, like I had been reading about, then they have been sorted. This cable set works flawlessly with no external power supply necessary at all. Once you plug it in, start up, and set up your high def settings, you will be treated to original xbox graphics that are more clear and vibrant than you can imagine. This is a MUST buy if you still have and play your XBOX. The original microsoft console is starting to sneak into the collectible world and now is the time to get what you want before all the good games rocket up in value. This cable makes it a joy to play.

This product is a good alternative if your tv is without component inputs. You cannot compare a CRT to a LCD/OLED displays because they're different technologically and better suited for specific and relevant technologies at that very time upon release. My criticisms are small but here they're ; mini usb cable is very necessary for specific Xbox units to avoid screen flashing and tinting. The mini usb port on the unit has no advertising or instructions for the consumer eventhough it would prevent frustration for the consumer and possibly limit the amount of returned products to the business. Image can appear darker and some slight artifacts but there is really nothing you can do to prevent this when using hdmi. Overall I recommend this product, but you need to be aware native component is far superior on a CRT display.

**I am a real customer and I have no ties to this company** I will go into more detail below on what equipment I used. I know some people were having issues. Besides does it work, the big question is does it improve the game image? YES!!! 480i will still be 480i, but it will look clearer. Teen Titans for Xbox looked ok at best with standard cords. With the HDMI converter it looked clearer and you could see more detail in the characters. The colors also had more pop. On the modded xbox Golden Axe for sega I saw a big jump in detail with the HDMI. I used this HDMI cord on my unmodded xbox. It's the 1.5 version. I know that because I had to remove my clock capacitor. I used it for about 6 hours and only had 1 small glitch. I go into detail below. I used it on 2017 4k LG LED tv and an older JVC 1080p led tv. NO issues with the picture. On the Modded Xbox when I first connected it after an hour when I paused the game the screen went black like it lost connection, but the tv screen saver didnt come on, so it was still connected. I disconnected the HDMI and shut the tv off plugged HDMI back in and turned tv on and it played fine for another 5 hours(no issue, just stopped playing) . That was the New 4K tv. Besides that one small glitch it has been flawless. I cant recommend this enough. It comes with everything you need. No power source needed. At some point I hope to buy another one so I dont need to switch it back and forth between my systems.

A great HD picture from my OG Xbox, a good value compared to the price of other quality cables nowadays. I previously bought a cheap set of component cables which were absolute trash, this is much better. I have a 1.5 Xbox, mentioning this because apparently there have been issues with some models. Performance on mine is great. Glorious 480p on most games:) My only complaint, maybe a nitpick, is that dark areas/levels of games with this cable are VERY dark; if a game doesn't have a gamma slider, that can be annoying. But I've heard that can happen with other HD cables on the Xbox as well, something to do with black levels. A quality product, if I am in the market for HDMI cables for other retro systems in the future, I would buy Pound again.

I was amazed at what this product did for my xbox games. To be fair I did have it hooked up to a 4ktv but even on my 1080p tv the quality is so much better than av cables. Not to mention you can now enable dts and dolby. I own the monster component cables, and while those look great as well, I prefer hdmi as its alot easier to plug and play. Glad I decided to buy this. Definitely recommend.
