If you need a TENS unit, you should buy this one

I wanted to try a TENS unit for various back issues for which I was being treated by a chiropractor as well as physical therapy. Both practices recommended muscle stimulation and used them in their offices. I felt that using one in the comfort of my home would be beneficial to the healing process and for use after I performed home exercises. I did an on line search for recommended units, and the AUVON was recommended. It offered 20 different modes, provided multiple connectors and was at a very reasonable price (not to mention a generous warranty). Once I received the unit and tried it out, I was totally convinced I had made a good choice. I love the variety of stimulation modes and can decide what strength of stimulation is best, depending upon whether I am using it for tough muscles or more sensitive leg or arm areas. I look forward to the end of a long day when I can "hook up" and relax with this unit. WELL, here I go again! Purchasing unit #2.....this one for my husband who keeps using mine, so it's time for his own!!!

Small but powerful!

For those that love involuntary movements, this is the TENS unit for you! Need a drink shaken or a 40lb bag of ice crushed. Just hook yourself up and try not to let go! I’ve made it to power level two. I believe levels three through five are the human pretzel setting and anything above five is to replace construction equipment or high explosives. Seriously though, you’ll be SHOCKED at how well this works and the amount of power it has for it’s small size!

Really Helps

I was skeptical when I purchased this unit. My physical therapist recommended that I get a Tens unit to help with my pain issues. I've had 3 cervical fusions and surgery for torn biceps tendon all in the past 2 years. Since I"m in my 60's it definitely takes longer to recover from major body disruptions and lingering pain. I'm so glad I got this. My pain gets severe while at work and sitting for hours doesn't help either. I've found I can have a family member place the electrodes in the affected muscles and can hide the wires inside my clothing. The actual unit fits right into a pocket. It seems to actually cut off the pain signals to my head. This is working out great for me. I found that using a "conductive" gel enhances the connectivity of the pads. I'm very happy with this unit and feel that it is a life saver. Thank You.

Good for travel

I've had a TENS unit for about a year and bought this just before my mom left for a two week cruise since she was having some leg pain. Just a few days into the vacation, she started texting me how much she and my stepdad both appreciated it and have been using it. It took some convincing to get them willing to try it, but this device has exceeded their expectations and was easy to charge and take along traveling.

GREAT battery life and very powerful

Love this thing. Great battery life. Very strong current. Pads are rated at 30 uses each but, I have found them to last longer although they don't stick quite as well after a while but, the pads are not supposed to last forever so, no problem there. It took a few 'sessions' to figure out where to place the pads and different modes to get the relief I needed but, once I found the right combination, it was awesome. I have sciatic issues and I found some charts online for where to place the pads but, none of them were helpful, and I was thinking of returning it but, I'm glad I kept at it because now that I figured it out, it's totally worth the money. I bought a major brand name type of device like this once at the pharmacy, and it was useless. I'm not sure if it was because the pads were a fixed distance but, all it did was burn at the spot where the pads made contact. On a separate note, this is listed as a TENS unit, as apposed to a NMES unit (you can do a web search to find out the difference, basically the TENS is supposed to target nerves, and the NMES targets muscles) but, you can totally get this unit to make your muscles contract if you just place the pads in the right places. In all fairness I haven't used an NMES unit so I don't know if it would work better for muscle contraction, or even maybe this unit is not calibrated correctly so it is bridging both frequencies.

a perfect kit to have to available in between treatments

I get back aches on occasion and see a chiropractor who uses a tens unit as part of my treatments. It is a perfect kit to have to available in between treatments. I like the ability to use one or two channels to have more stimulation. I have used it a few times since receiving it and am happy with the results it provides. I like the compact size and different programs for different areas. Also to be able to adjust the intensity to match the stimulation that feels best to you. All in all I am very satisfied with this and would recommend it to others.

Very impressed

So far very impressed with this product. It's smaller than I thought it was going to be which made me hesitate about its functionality at first sight. But once I tried it I was so surprised, I couldn't understand how such small thing could help so much. Instructions are very clear for those who take the time to read them. It's got only 4 electro pads to work at the same time but just to make sure you don't harm yourself I think it's enough. For that price, it's a great product!

A pain reliever!

This little TENS package packs a punch. I am surprised on how well it works. I bought my friend a much more expensive one 2 years ago but this one is just as good if not better then the more expensive TENS units. My girlfriend used it on her back and loved it and I use it for my tennis elbow. Has a total of 16 settings which is nice. What is nice is that it does have the 2 independent channels so we can both use the one unit at the same time with different modes! Recommend.

AWESOME FOR PRICE!!!!!

I bought this due to my lower back issues, for $26 because of lightning deal, this works as well as the $400 tens unit I got yrs ago by prescription from surgical supplies, cannot believe the power of this, plus no battery needed, it's rechargable, I've seen units on Amazon going for 3-4 hundred and I can't see them being any better, plus so many different settings, so if you suffer from pain this is for you, actually never written a review before,even for items that are good, but this is to good not to.

High quality easy to use, very powerful, great massage!

This could easily be the best item I’ve ever purchased on Amazon! Amazing device! It’s a high quality piece of technology that really is amazing in what it does. The powerful massage offered by electrical stimulus is very strong and therapeutic. I’ve only been able to use the strength setting on #2 I can’t imagine going any higher. Some of the massage choices feel like a big strong masseuse is actually pounding on you muscles. Everything is high quality from the electrode pads to the unit itself. It also came fully charged and I was able to try it right out. I LOVE this product, wish I had bought one sooner!
