Yes you can wash it if...

Update: several months later and I have purchased a second tote bag, gluing the zipper tape as indicated below before washing. Both bags have held up well after several washings! I love this tote bag. It is very roomy, zips closed, has an extra outer pocket, and the canvas and reinforced bottom are very sturdy. The biggest feature I need in a tote bag though is being machine washable. I have now washed this four times and can share some insights. The manufacturer does not claim it is machine washable but at this price point I was willing to chance it. The trim on my bag is purple and the purple dye didn't bleed onto the cream canvas. The bag does have to be reshaped after washing, and I recommend you stand it up and leave it open to air dry. The only drawback to washing is that the part of the bag where the zipper tape is sewn to the weave of the canvas, that weave can come apart underneath the zipper tape during washing and then the zipper essentially isn't sewn to anything. I caught this early enough that I was able to salvage it by using fabric glue (I used Aleene's OK to wash it) to secure the zipper tape to the bag, using binder clips to clamp the two pieces together while drying. If you anticipate that you'll be machine washing this bag, I strongly recommend you enforce the area where the zipper tape is sewn to the bag with fabric glue before you use it/wash it. You'll want to put a continuous bead of fabric glue between the zipper tape and the canvas for the enitre length of the zipper on each side. Once dried, you should be able to wash the bag many times!

Excellent quality tote bag

The quality of this canvas tote is superb. It's better than I expected. I bought it as a weekender bag and added a personalized touch. Love it! It can hold a lot of things and easy to take care of. Recommended!!

PERFECT BAG!!

Just what I was looking for! I work in a preschool & needed a big bag to haul my purse, lunch, & odds and ends. This bag is the best deal ever! Super strong canvas with reinforced stitching in the straps. This bag can easily hold a good amount of weight. There is a deep pocket in the front, which I feel keeps my phone & keys safe from falling out yet easy to reach. I have 4 kids and have had a lot of bags in my time, but this by far is the best quality. It might not be the cutest bag out there, but the quality & functionality make it worth buying, especially at the price. If you are hesitating about buying, just do it! You will not be sorry.

Good quality. Heavy weight. Slight strap flaw.

Heavy weight tote. Really nice quality bag comparable to my LL Bean bag for a fraction of the cost. The only flaw I found was the topstitching on the straps. One strap came unsewn quickly. Easy repair. I had to reinforce all 4 as all only had 1 row of stitching. All 4 straps should be reinforced by stitching back and forth to properly secure them to the bag. As I said, easy fix. I would buy again without hesitation.

Look no further, this bag is huge! I'm using it as a beach/pool bag for a family of 4. This will hold towels, toys, snacks, water, swimsuits, flip flops, and anything else you need to haul to the beach/pool. It is heavy duty canvas. A strong zipper. It is a great price for what you get. I am so happy I found it.

Great bag

This bags seems right for the price, good quality heavy canvas, stands alone it doesn’t collapse,zipper, reinforced seams and is big, roomy, you can fit 4 big rolls of paper towels as seem on the picture, plenty of room for all your needs, is a little taller than a paper towel roll, I got the navy blue color, the bottom is dark to keep it from showing up dirt. I’m very happy with my purchase and I’m planning to get more of this bags. The bag arrived promptly, clean, wrapped on plastic for transport

Huge bag, heavy duty canvas and stitching.

I needed to transport a painted flowerpot from Florida to California as a carry-on item on a flight. The flowerpot was 14.5 inches in diameter and we wrapped it in bubble wrap to protect it. Good luck finding a duffel bag that will fit that and still be small enough to be a carry-on. Well let me tell you- this bag worked perfectly. It is made out of heavy-duty canvas, and fit the flower pot perfectly both standing up and laying on its side so we could zip the zipper. The straps held up to us carting it through 3 airports and a shuttle bus with absolutely no wear and tear. It obviously did nothing to protect the flowerpot since it's not padded but that wasn't what I was looking for anyway. We then used the bag to bring back our dirty laundry from the trip. I can imagine this bag would be excellent for carrying groceries, carrying textbooks and a laptop, packing a beach bag, or in any case where you may need to carry heavy items and leave your arms and hands free. Definitely will be utilizing it a lot more.

Truly a great bag!

I was looking for a bag to use for work and I found it! It is such an amazing bag! I love how the body has stiffness to it so that it always stands up. Everyone suggested to purchase an LL Bean bag. They are Soo expensive! So I went hunting on Amazon and found this bag! I plan on ordering some as gifts as now most of our stores have gone bagless. Thanks for an amazing product!!

Love it!

Love them! The first one I purchased was the royal blue one. Then I purchased a red one and a purple one. The fabric on the blue and red bags are thinner and more flexible. The white part of these two was more of an off white color. The fabric of the purple bag is thicker, less flexible, but feels more durable. The white part of the purple bag is true white. I like all of them as they are very user friendly. I bought these to use as a weekender bag and beach bag and have used them multiple times already. Haven't washed them yet so not sure how they will hold.
