Install was not that bad
I installed this in my Crown Victoria Police Interceptor today. The display/mirror fit nicely over my stock mirror, and fastened securely with the two bands. The camera mounted nicely to the trunk lid, above my license plate. I drilled a hole to route the cable into the trunk compartment. I easily located the black/pink wire that powers the backup lights, and tapped into it with the red wire to the camera. I routed the cable through the trunk lid, along the hinge, and behind the sit into the passenger compartment. Under the door sills, to the drivers area. Then I discovered that the cable was too short to conceal behind the kick panel and A column trim up to the mirror. So, temporarily it is routed in an unsightly manner, util I can get an extension cable. The front camera image is great. The backup camera image is fine. I like the colored guide lines that appear when reversing. Note to Toguard: The company logo that appears on the packaging and on the display when you power on, "Monitor what you concern", is awkward English. We would say "Monitor what you care about". P.S. There are hardwire kits for power on Amazon - you need left hand 90 degree mini-usb if you route wire leftward. There is also a longer cord to route from the backup camera to the rearview.

Outstanding value
This is my fourth dash cam and by far the very best. It arrived as promised and was in perfect condition. The installation was a snap as it fits over the rear view mirror. It provides a better rear view than the factory mirror. The set up went very easy, the menu was very intuitive and straight forward. In fact there was no need for the Owners Manual. The best part of the TOGUARD is the touch screen. Responsive to the touch and fast. When you start your vehicle, the screen displays the front camera view, which is easily turned off by using a button on the bottom of the mirror or just let it run and in 3 minutes it turns itself off. The TOGUARD has many features common in other dash cams: loop recording, parking monitoring, and G-sensor. What sets the TOGUARD apart is its touch screen operation, its ease of use, and the beautiful video it produces. At this point I have not installed the rear view/backup camera. I have a RAM 1500 Quad Cab and the rear cable that was provided will not reach the rear. I reached out to TOGUARD support and am waiting on an extension cable at this point. The Support group was very responsive to my original email. Will update the review once the rear camera is installed.

Excellent Solution for Older Vehicles.
Hello friends! This is a pretty rock’n package. The rear view camera is good enough, dash cam is good enough and the mirror reflection is good enough, but all at 80 dollars!? This is a steal! It literally modernized my 00’ extended cab Silverado, I am so glad to have found this. The install required the “23’ extension” cable (it is a replacement cable not an extension.) And everything was pretty ez pz. One thing I wish it had is a power switch on the AC charger. My plus stay on when the truck is off so I have to unplug it every time, but it is totally worth it.

Pretty Wonderful Product
I purchased the Toguard Backup Camera and Dash Cam Touch Screen Mirror for an installation in my wife's 2014 VW Beetle R-Line convertible. The product comes well packaged and the instruction booklet is well done and accurately translated into English to help us accurately understand how to install and troubleshoot the product. The quality of workmanship is excellent and the "head-end" or the mirror is the "Brains" of the system. It has quite amazing functionality and user interphases to customize the size of image and video that is desired. I was quite impressed with the image power of this little unit. The cameras are producing a 130 or so.....degree of image capture at 720-1080 HD quality. It is great to have a backup camera that helps one see in such clarity. The firmware installation that I received in November, 2018 was the most current that allows accurate cropping of the backup camera, which makes for a good and accurate view behind. The installation is straight forward. I think the hardest part is hiding the wires into the car's facia and crooks and corners as you slink the cable to the dash mirror. The only thing I would opt for would be a true wireless technology to eliminate the hour or so of slinking cable and hiding it in the car so the installation appears professional for us DIY'ers. Patience is a virtue. When I asked my wife to come out and critique the installation, she had only one word to share, which was "Super!". It is important to keep the owner of the vehicle happy when tearing apart their car to install an aftermarket camera system like this. The fact is it works and.........works well. PS: I want to share cudos for the company and distributor as well as Amazon support. My system came with a bad rear camera cable or camera. It was hard to uncover as most electronic issues are. One has to diagnose the problem and through a process of elimination, narrow down the issue and identify the culprit. I did just that on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Once I knew I was in trouble.........I stopped the install and contacted Amazon Support. They took me though a qualified list of troubleshooting tips........all of which I had already carried out. They indicated that they would contact the manufacturer/seller and let them know. They did just that for me. I also contacted the seller through the Amazon links and knowledge database. I laid out my problem and what I thought the cure would be. By Wednesday, I had talked to "Support through a nice associate named Alice." She and I exchanged email communication throughout Wednesday and had an approved solution through Amazon. She sent me "Gift Card" links and asked me to order the troubled parts through the links she passed along. I did as requested. Today........which is Friday, I received the troubled parts and my grandson and I fished out the bad camera and cable and installed the newly received one. It worked like a charm..........just as the manual indicated it would. I have to say, this effort by Amazon and Alice from Toguard Support exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much for all the help. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product for its quality and support the company that stands behind their merchandise with quality support and troubleshooting efforts.........to in my case produce and support happy customers. Buy this product if you are looking for a quality backup camera with a bavkup team that will help you out when you are in a jam. Thanks.

Impressive
I just got around to putting this thing in my car after a run-in with another maniac driver today. First: The directions are pretty basic. I agree with everyone here who has said to watch a YouTube video if you don’t know how to hide wires. As yes, both the front and rear cameras have wires. The wire from the mirror itself will run to your cigarette lighter. The rear camera wire will run to the mirror. If you want the rear camera to come on when you back up, you also have to connect the little red wire to your reverse light. Install: 2015 Dodge Charger Rallye Time: 45 minutes Difficulty: Moderate, due to wires Modifications: None. Rear camera installed inside of car in rear window without reverse connection. (I have a stock backup camera system. My first impression is that it’s really nice. I have a mirror that is close to the ceiling so, I followed the reviews and hooked he rubber bands onto the top and pulled down to connect to the bottom. Took 2 minutes. Larger than my OEM mirror by a couple of inches. Wire wasn’t much of a big deal to hide because the interior is all black and I installed car radios “back in the day”. The rear camera took a bit longer. I had PLENTY of cable. To get the best view, the camera would have to be mounted up high but I don’t want it to be noticeable. It’s a fixed camera and it would’ve been SUPER if it had a pivot joint. I could have mounted up high for a better view and angled to the middle of the car. I have it hiding between the decal on my rear window and I can see the car behind me. Good enough for now. If you’re putting it on for backup camera usage, you’ll need to get inventive: like most, I would absolutely not drill holes in my car for this and that will take some thinking to get around. Both cameras have a great picture. Use the little blue tool in your box to pop your SD card in and out. I used a 64 GB card rated best and it’s working great. Can’t think of anything else to include. I’ll update the review if anything happens. Manufacturer: please put the rear camera on a swivel mount to make it adjustable! I actually liked how small the adhesive clips are to window mount too. I just don’t want to see the wires hanging. (No way to avoid that in my model car.)

Nice quality and rich set of features for this price point!
We did not expect the video quality and richness of features at this price point but have been pleasantly surprised. I will try to summarize my experience after about 3-4 weeks of use: Pros: - Records both front and rear views. Good feature for any post-incident evidence.. which we will hopefully never have to use :) - VERY responsive touch-screen controls. The display and touch-responsiveness are very impressive. I wish some of our tablets were this good. - Easy one touch to cycle through the display modes, e.g. full-front+rear-PIP, rear-only, front-PIP, half-and-half.. - Already mentioned.. the display is reasonably bright and very clear - Easy installation. Long enough rear-camera cable.. we installed it internally rather than on the license plate - Did not splice the reversing light.. didn't feel like we need it. Easy enough to switch to rear-only display mode when needed with single touch Cons: - Primarily all software annoyances - The G-sensor and parking-sensor are too sensitive. Almost every time the doors are closed (or slammed by the kids), it switches to locked recording.. too many locked recordings reduce the available SD card space. Keep at the lowest or off setting. - There seems no easy way to turn off the display except through the built-in timeout when it turns on. The lowest setting is 1-minute. So the display stays on for the first minute of driving.. and you can not really use the mirror. 1-minute sounds not much but it actually feels much longer when driving! Wish there was a touch/button method to turn off the display. In short, we are very pleased to have purchased this. Planning to buy another one for the minivan. Durability is an open question.. will update our review occasionally as time passes... but vendor seems very responsive on the complaints filed here. Hopefully we will not need to test that :)

❗️WARNING: Crop Issue with Reverse Mode [ISSUE FIXED BY SUPPORT]
8/5/2018 There is a reason why they don’t show a picture of the reverse camera in action. When in Dashboard DVR mode, you can see a wider FOV with the reverse cam. Once you put the car in reverse though, the “guides” (which look like they were done in Microsoft Paint) will overlay the video. However, the video is cropped on the top and bottom. So you either have to point the camera down more to see your bumper or you have to tilt it up more to see what you are backing up toward. Based on the behavior, I think the issue is actually with the software on the mirror device and not the camera. The software is changing the aspect ratio and that is why it is cropping the video. They need to maintain the aspect ratio (like what is done in the picture-in-picture (PIP) view). I’m going to try contacting support to see what they say but based on other comments, don't know if I should hold my breath. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. If you are looking to get this for the dash cam only, I think it’s OK. If for backing up, you may want to find another product - preferably something that shows an image of what the backup looks like in the product description. Hopefully this will ge fixed because everything else seems solid with this device. If I get a resolution from the seller, I’ll update this review. Added photos. The first one shows the “full view” when looking at the reverse camera in PIP. The 2nd is the reverse mode. Look at the house in the background. In the PIP pic, you see all of it. In the backup mode, it’s cropped (top and bottom). Also note the cheesy fixes backup guide. Update: 08/06/2018 Heard back from support. They were very responsive and have found the issue. Their engineer is working on a software fix. Moving this to 3 stars because 1) they were very responsive and 2) everything else is solid with the unit. Once this is fixed, I'll bump it up. Update: 08/09/2018 Support sent me a firmware update (actually on 8/7/2018) but I had to order a new card adapter so that I could copy the BIN file to perform the upgrade. The upgrade worked and fixed the issue. Now the entire camera view is shown when going in reverse. Very pleased with their responsiveness. I'm going to order another unit for my other car now.

Works great!
Saw this dash cam in a friend’s car and I couldn’t wait to order one for myself. The "mirror" camera was delivered in a quick manner and was tightly wrapped with no damage caused to the mirror; however; it didn't come with a SD card so recommend to purchase this product along with a SD card. The mirror works as intended and it has a great picture quality. Once you hit record, you may turn off the screen and use the camera as the mirror. It may sounds weird but looking through a new and bigger rear mirror kind of make me feel like I got a new car - lol!

Great Solution for Dash-cam!
