Lives up to the hype, and then some

When a game gets so much hype its easy to expect too much, but I have to say both as an AAA title and value for money gears 5 delivers in droves. the story is easily the best gears story to date, the graphics (on xbox one x) are amazing.... yes 4k 60 fps amazing. The multiplayer has tons of options to keep you coming back.... it really is a great complete package. With so few AAA first party titles on XB this generation, when they do come they have to deliver.... Im happy to say gears 5 certainly does that. It feels fresh yet still retains the gears meat and potatoes.... I love how you can send your little robot buddy anywhere to pick up ammo etc. The gunplay is still cover and shoot.... but to me it feels snappier and refined on the X at least. The characters have more depth this time around too yet still have that quirky humour now and then. This is as polished a game you will see this year, on any platform. Highly recommended, you wont be disappointed

Love it.

Love it. love it love it love it. It reminds me of Gears of War 2. The characters are better, the story is better, the shooting more polished. You feel like you're part of an army fighting in a war, the swarm feels like a threat, it'll hit you in the feels, you can feel like you're among friends, and alot more. It's updated the shooting and the story, the mulitplayer is more or less the same. Also less micro-transactions, more competition and earning rewards. Forgive my incoherence. 10/10 would recommend.

Dont care what others think or say I love the Gears Games and I will always play them as long as they make them. 4k is amazingly realistic.

Fantastic game and graphics! Love it!

Graphics are amazing. Read Ascendance, good back story. The series is just great and Gears 5 just brings more back home. Campaign is fantastic. Good story and new uses of the robots Dave and Jack. Prepare for more fun and a must have if you are into the Gears franchise. Playability is smooth on Xbox X.

Best Gears yet!

I've played through all the Gears of war games from the start and primarily played them for the story and horde mode. I didn't become a die hard fan until I finished Gears 2 and the story writing improved exceptionally. Gears 5 is everything the old games were but better especially when it comes to the story. It's the longest of the series to play through (which I appreciate) and the writing is fantastic. There are several emotional moments throughout the story that make you remember just how much you love all the characters. While Gears 3 had been my favorite, this one barely crept into first place for me especially since they revisited several of the primary questions I had about the lore from the last games. All in all, can't recommend it enough and I can't wait for the next one!

They came by UPS thank God cuz the regular Amazon drivers has been messing up lately on the past couple orders I've gotten stolen I like this video game I'm a fan of the Gears of War series I'm happy I got it today

Gears 5 is the full package! Game made for Gears fans!

Received this game day of release after preordering a month in advance. Gears 5 is truly a full package! Great campaign, Versus Multiplayer, Horde, and Escape. Beautiful looking game! 60 FPS on the Xbox One X. Gears 5 developers (The Coalition) has stuck to the root mechanics of gears while adding subtle advancements that feel natural and well integrated. This game is catered to Gears fans both new and old. I have been a gears fan since the first game in 2006. They include a history video and previously on Gears video to catch you up on the history and lore. I must say this is $50 well spent. I am very happy with my purchase and can say this game provides a lot of replay value and content!
