Assassins Creed + The Witcher 3 = Odyssey
This game is amazing and freaking HUGE! There is so much content, always something to do, explore and delve. The ship battles are amazing and very nostalgic to the thrill of those found in Black Flag. The bounty hunters that hunt you in the world are similar to that of those found in the Shadow of War series. The story driven narrative and choices that bare consequence is that of the Witcher. If you're a fan of any of these games then you're definitely going to enjoy this one. I will admit, it does all these things well but it's these traits aren't as good as the ones that emphasized it. The game comes off as a jack of all trades but a master at none. That being said it's not like it does any of them badly. They're just not perfect as the. With so much content and so much to do there is definitely something here for everyone, highly recommend this game and it well deserves a 5 star rating.

Get this game if you like Ac series or if you just enjoy large open world games period!
Get this game if you like Ac series or if you just enjoy large open world games period! I don’t usual ever leave game reviews but this one is exceptional the game is executed really well the exportable area is massive would literally take you hours just to uncover any unexplored areas ... graphics and attention to detail and just mass amounts of content to keep you busy and get you completed sucked into advancing up the mercenary ranks... and a good storyline on top of it all ... one of best, captivating games I’ve played in years and I’m not even done with story yet! Lost interest with ac after unity and syndicate but this has resparked it for sure Don’t get this game if you are not interested in spending hours playing at a time!

Blackflag meets Origin
Arrived right on time. Only have a few hours in currently, but so far I'm enjoying it. It's like a cross between Blackflag and Origin which makes a great game.

Ubisoft Created a Really Fantastic Game
I've played a number of Assassin's Creed titles going back years, and I think this is my favorite of them all. The game pretty faithfully recreates the geographical locations of the ancient Greek world of the 5th century B.C. The attention to detail is remarkable. The game got me so interested in ancient Greece, that I bought a book about it. I sent some videos of the game to a friend who is the chairman of the art department at a large university, and he was really impressed with the recreation of the architecture and artwork. While I also enjoyed AC Origins, the game world in Odyssey seems more alive. The NPCs don't keep repeating the same phrases all the time, which was one of the few things that annoyed me about Origins. You can choose to play as either Kassandra or Alexios, and the choice doesn't really affect the development of the story. I chose Kassandra, and I still laugh at some of her mild sarcasm as she interacts with a particularly pompous, conceited character. The voice acting for the main characters in the story is excellent. The pronunciation of names of historical figures and places is different from what I'm accustomed to, and I assume that the Greek pronunciation in the game is more accurate. The main characters are drawn from history, although some literary license has been taken with dates and events. One example is Brasidas, a character you meet in the game. In real life, Brasidas was probably the most famous Spartan general during the Peloponnesian War. The combat offers a mix of styles of melee, ranged and stealth, so you can use whichever you prefer or is best for the situation. The main character doesn't use shields in Odyssey (although shields were a critical means of protection in ancient Greek combat), but enemies can use shields. Considering that the game takes place around the Aegean Sea, there's decent naval combat as well. Most of the boss fights are challenging, but a few are repetitive where the difficulty is based mostly on the boss's large health pool. You have lots of options to spec your character and you can re-spec with minimal cost at any time if you want to change your play style. There's an enormous amount of content in Odyssey, including lots of optional side quests and exploration of the huge game world. Plus, there's even more content in the DLC. Ubisoft created an amazing game that's well worth the cost.

Still one of the greater series of games
I must admit, the game is long, and I have not finished the main campaign yet. (I had finished many other games in the series, starting with the very first one). But this is not a bad thing, since there is actually a lot of side content in the game. The Odyssey is a culmination of AC design along with borrowed elements from current action RPG series. For example, there are elements that resemble mass effect (dialog choices), God of War (item customization), and an overall rich world which can be found in many other RPG universes. I would still not call it a full fledged RPG though, even with the leveling system. There is still a lot of stealth action, open world exploration, and historical elements that keeps the unique AC formula around. Tow down sides though: - You need to get the 50% EXP boost, which is a separate purchase. Otherwise there would be too much grind - You cannot one hit assassinate bosses anymore. Preparing your sneak attack, and taking down bosses was a great part of the game. I got to have the game in several systems, including the PC. I would not want to make comparisons, since it is a personal choice. However regardless of your gaming setup I would expect a great amount of enjoyment from both old timers and new comers of AC series.

Great game
This is actually only the second assassin's creed game that I've ever played so I unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how u look at it) am not in distress because the game isn't "like assassin's creed anymore". I love it simply because of the wonderful graphic, amazing open world experience and the ability to choose ur own path. People take video games too seriously these days. Like if you don't like it maybe don't spend 60 bucks on it after you were already told before it released what it would be about and then u won't be disappointed *shrug*

incredibly fun
this is my first AC game, i really was not sure i would like it but 30 hrs in i love it, so many areas to explore, it isn't Witcher 3 (nothing is) but it's fun and the naval battles are awesome! note: being an incredibly impatient person i have opted for the xp boost which did help the leveling slog.

By far the best AC game in the entire series
By far the best AC game in the entire series. I had gotten tired of AC, and either rented or skipped the most recent entries. This one was well worth purchasing. It plays like a mix of an improved version of AC's parkour and combat gameplay with Bioware's choice-driven RPGs. One of the best open world games ever made.

One of the Best in the Assassin Creed series!!!!
One of the best open world games! There is so much to do in this game. You can chose what battles to fight, what areas to take over (Farcry Primal!!), what missions to undertake, etc. The game draws you in...one more fort to conquer, one more area to explore, one more mercenary to kill. And it adds regional battles and makes you pick a side: Sparta or Athens. A real gem of a game! Don’t let other Assassins Creed game scare you (Syndicate)...this game is massive and could potentially give a gamer 100 plus hours of playing time. PLEASE GO BUY THIS GAME!!! My kudos to the Ubisoft Team. They never let gamers down.
