This thing is awesome. Because of IR, the device needs to be within the line of sight of an appliance in order to work.

excellent ir control and ifttt integration

Nice look and can control any ir contol device with ifttt integration and constantly updated. Can be added to alexa and google home voice control.

Turns off and on TV, soundbar and Directv box that weren't compatible with alexa.

Wish list: Would be even better if the directv functionality could control channels, guide and recordings. Samsung TV smart hub functionality would be fantastic! Samsung soundbar can only increase volum up or down by 1 level, would like to be able to say alexa set volume to 15 or up-down 3. But still happy overall!

Doesn’t look the prettiest, but works like a charm

Used it as IR control for my aircon. Let’s just say, this is the first of three that I’ve tried that actually works well (compared to Tado and Sensibo). It’s cheaper, works reliably and integrates well with both Alexa and Google. Only feature I would love to see is location awareness (i.e. be able to turn of scheduled on/off depending if i’m home or not. Perhaps the aesthetic isn’t to everyone’s taste, so a few options for alternative colour (other than white) or other shapes (other than cloud) would be great. Oh.. there’s a very responsive support team as well and they stand behind their products. It’s rare with a lot of these one off IoT products. Highly recommended!

Worked exactly

I have an Electric Blanket that we use to cover half of my Bird’s cage in the night. However the Electric blanket doesn’t turn on by just turning on the outlet. Button needs to be pushed. I was looking for something through which I can push the button if the temperature in the cage falls below 70. I searched and found this that can be used to press buttons remotely and even through the Internet. I really didn’t think something like this existed but did a quick Google search and landed on this item and it worked exactly as I wanted.

A fantastic looking hub that works great!

This hub is a really unique way to make a hub look attractive. It uses a rainbow LED that constantly changes color to turn this from a regular boring hub to an interesting lamp or night-light! Plus, this allows all of my switch bots to be used remotely over the internet, or by Alexa. This means that i now have 5 new alexa-controlled devices that can increase my laziness even more. I swear, in like 10 years, people will be living just like in the movie Wall-E :)

More powerful than expected and easy to use

Yes, it's really that easy to use. If you can't figure it out within a few minutes of reading instructions or googling, you probably shouldn't be messing with "smart" home devices to begin with. If that sounds rude? You're probably the person who needs to hear it. Just google it - I promise you'll figure it out. Take a breath and be rational with your expectations. Bought this to use with my SwitchBot and it works really well. Nice bonus is that I also use it to control my television and other IR devices. Lazy, party of one! Easy to set up, works via the internet, iOS, Android, Alexa, Google Home. Can customize the LEDs or turn them completely off. It would be great for a kid's room for the lighting effects alone. Maybe pair it with a SwitchBot to turn a light on/off when there are monsters under the bed. Bottom line? I'd buy it again. Really enjoy using it and making my outdated equipment 'smart' has made me happy.

Working well for 3 months now, IR control is a nice bonus!

Usually I don't write reviews, but I've been impressed by the switchbot hub (and bots) and the company support, so I'm writing this here. Been using it for 3 months now with 2 switchbots and so far it's worked flawlessly. Integration with Alexa is very good, you can even map custom appliances to Alexa, and the IR control with learning option is a great plus (and works as a harmony or a broadlink so it can save you some money), meaning the sky is the limit. The switchbot company also seems to be updating the mobile apps on a timely fashion, adding new options to it, keeping the Alexa API working at all times (no issues so far in 3 months), and also was very responsive when I had a question, meaning they care about their product. I recommend this hub for anyone needing IR control and/or with switchbots, especially if working with Alexa/Google. I was a bit afraid of not liking the "cloud" design, but now I really think it's cute (plus it comes with a magnet so you can hook it up to whatever). Oh yeah you can also change the color of the hub to anything RGB, which is also pretty cute if you like those things .. !

Easy to use product

This is unbelievable good and easy to integrate with Alexa. I was a bit skeptical about it but it capable of integrating Tv and AC split.
