Great STEM toy
I bought these as a birthday present for my niece. I accidently left them on the counter and my daughter opened them. She has not quit playing with them. For the lego lover in your life- this is another great toy.

Wonderful STEAM Gift
I bought this for my cousin's daughter's 5th birthday party. I knew she was going to get mostly dolls, dresses and costumes, so I wanted to mix things up a bit with this. It seemed like a good age-appropriate Science Tech Engineering Art Math (STEAM) toy. What inspired me was my friends and quaintances who are in various STEM and STEAM fields. As a STEM / STEAM reference, a lot of the folks I know who are engenieers or designers of some sort say their favorite toys were things they could build and take apart. Bonus for these is that they don't hurt as much to step on, unlike Legos or a pulled apart electronic device. I can't guarantee kids will be STEAM career adults with this, but it is definitely fund to dabble in such activities. Truthfully, she initially wasn't very excited about it (she had more applause and familiarity with dolls and dresses, after all), but after visiting a couple months later she seems to continuously play with it. Her older brother, who is first grade (and loves action figures/dolls and costumes), had a similar ration. Their younger 2 year old sister completely ignored this toy, but now seems to love playing with it as well. (The shape pieces are big, so I don't worry about the toddler accidentally swallowing the larger bits, though I would still not suggest to leave them unsupervised.) All three fight over who gets to play with the pieces. They all love making things, and then smashing them! They don't seem that interested in the walls, windows, and wheels, so I may get them just more shape pieces next get together. I actually showed them how to put it together the first day. The storage box they came it just fit the pieces, so one has to carefully stack them to get them in there. That is the one small quibble I have with it. Other than that, this product is great! The pictured instruction booklet was nice. The adults at the party had fun playing with the designs, and actually seemed more interested in the toy than the kids! This is also a good bonding toy with the kids, or (let's be real) something to keep adults entertained in what might be a tedious children's birthday party. The magnetic holds are not strong. If you do things like build the airplane or the car from the book, one has to carfully pick it up. It is easy to loose magnetic conection and accidently smash your new constrcution. That sort of upset the kids initially. They didn't get that it was ok to smash it, and were a bit upset when they saw how long it took to build something, only to see it come undone easily. (Maybe a good life lesson in there!) Like I said earlier, they've thankfully actually grown fond of building and smashing! Their dexterity wasn't 100% there the first day, but upon visiting them again they had no problems manipulating the pieces in to the way they wanted. So, all in all, this toy seems wonderful in developing dexterity, as well as talking about shapes, colors, counting, artful building designs, etc.

My toddler is in love with these!
I debated among many types of blocks for my 2 ½ year old, and I'm so glad I picked these. Because they're just sides and not full blocks its very easy to pick them up and they stack very compact and fit in their case to be easily put away or taken out. It's also very easy to demonstrate all sorts of 3 dimensional shapes for her to learn and play.

Kids love it.
My kids fell in love with this toy right away! Every time they made something out of these magnetic blocks, they were excited and showed me their works. Besides those houses, vehicles or shapes shown on the playing guide book, they also figured out something new. It really a toy making kids more creative! Strongly recommended.

So far, awesome
So far, these magblocks are awesome! My kid isn't even 2 yet, but she loves playing with them. They're even fun for my husband and me. We haven't really used the castle cards yet, but maybe as she gets older.

The Perfect Toy
These are hours of fun, have their own case (making cleanup and storage a breeze) and everyone in the house from the 17 year old to the 4 year old love playing with them. They are well built, and there are enough pieces to make a variety of things, but not enough to get overwhelming. There's a cute little guidebook, but the kids usually freestyle their architecture.

Play with your child
bought these for my 3 years old princess. Let her play it by herself at the beginning, she started to shouting at me to help in like 5 minutes. so “almighty daddy” opened the book told her to follow the instructions in the book and then “there you go” she was cheering “yeah I built a car, it’s mine car!” :-)

Really neat, versatile set with unique pieces!
We have a few different sets of magnetic blocks. Kids of every age love them and they inspire so much creativity! This particular set is built a little differently, with the metal/magnetic pieces being smaller clips on the outsides of the plastic pieces. They are also slightly smaller and thinner/lighter plastic, which I was initially worried about. However, so far they have held up nicely to significant play from my two older children. A few of my favorite features: there are many unique pieces and shapes in this set! There are some square "facade" pieces that fit into the regular square pieces that can be used to create walls, windows, etc. None of the other sets have this and I think it's really neat! The kids love adding those features to their creations. They are a little difficult to pull out/off of the square pieces, so young children might need help from an adult. (My 6-yr-old did). There are also two platforms with wheels. It's a little tricky to build vehicles with these as they aren't magnetic and don't connect together. You snap the square pieces onto the wheel platforms and link them by only the magnets. I liked that the set came in a small plastic box with a locking lid. It makes for easy storage. I also LOVED the book with creation ideas! (As did my children) It shows several ideas of models to make and even the pieces required. Though there aren't specific instructions to build each one, the picture shows most of what is in the structure and is excellent for sparking ideas! Our other sets didn't include this either. It is a good-sized set with many pieces, perfect for creating bigger buildings! Overall we are very happy with this set! It has kept my two kids (8 and 6) entertained for hours! I love to see them working together, happily creating and imagining. What a great toy! Would make a great gift for any age. Due to the coloring, it would be best for a girl. I haven't checked, but hopefully the seller also makes gender-neutral colors!
