This is a basic, high quality mount. There are adjustments to move the phone up, down, and forward. The cradle is mounted on a ball so there is a wide range of motion. As you can see from the picture I mounted this on the windshield but included in the box is a plastic plate to allow dashboard mounting as well. As I drive I noticed that the phone stays solidly in place allowing me to easily see my GPS map.

I usually steer away from using these car mounts because they don’t tend to last. However, I was going on a road trip last week and decided to use this one. It held my phone in the position I desired with no problem. It was easy to install on my dashboard. Initially I placed it in the wrong position and when I removed it, it did not leave a horrible sticky residue, which I’m quite pleased with. Overall, this is a pretty good dashboard mount, and one of the best I’ve ever used.

I own a cell phone mount for the iphone xs max from another company that cost $40. That one charges and has motorized clamps that automatically secures the phone. So I am comparing my experience with that one to this Maxboost one. The maxboost comes with adhesion pads that you can use on your dash. I skipped that because the suction does a great job. I don't use mounts on the windshield but you can easily by rotating the base. The build quality is fine. All cell phone mounts I've seen are all made of plastic, but there aren't any parts on the Maxboost that are flimsy that I feel might break in the future. I only use the phone in portrait mode but you can rotate it easily into landscape mode. However, the clamps on this one are closer to the bottom of the phone not in the middle as others have pointed out. With a large phone like the XS Max, that might be problematic. You can extend the arm so the phone is closer to you, raise or lower the arm, and tilt to an angle that is suitable. The two clamps secure by you pushing them inwards once the phone is resting on the bottom pegs. The clamps have a nice amount of foam padding to hold the phone in place and reduce vibrations. To remove phone, there is a side button you push and the clamps move outwards. After a few days of using the Maxboost, I tried my other other cell phone mount and with the exception of inductive charging, the Maxboost is a better constructed mount. I really like the size of the clamps and the padding. And for the price, this is an absolute bargain in my opinion. One last thing, because of the fact these mounts are all plastic and are going to be exposed to sunlight and vibrations on the road, the plastic joints will loosen and need to be adjusted now and then. I'm in Texas, so the temps right now are in the high 80's and low 90's. I also park outside all the time. This is the same with my other cell phone mount. You'll notice it needs tightening when your phone bounces around more than usual. The only recommendation as others have mentioned is to move the clamps higher up so the phone is subject to less vibrations and can be put in landscape mode more easily. I received this product free in exchange for an honest review.

So I have taken my time before finally submitting a review but I can you tell that after months of use, this thing is fantastic. By far this is the best car mount you will find. From the flexibility to mount it anywhere or way you want in your car to the fact that they put so much thought into the design and that you can adjust the mount just about any way imaginable once your phone is installed into the mount. The instructions, packaging, and look of this mount is very cool and impressive as well. I highly recommend and will be putting this in all my cars. The other thing I like is they left a nice little space so you can insert your charging cable. I always hate trying to plug in your cell phone to charge when driving. With this the car mount holds it securely so you can push your cable in. Go ahead and get this and see exactly why this is the best. Thanks and hope this review helps!

This car mount is the best mount I have ever tried. Previous ones I had would not stay on the dash long enough or used a clip to attach itself to the vents or the car charging port. This one has a couple of methods that they provide to stick to the car. Whether its the dash or the glass. By itself it comes with a suction cup that is already sticky, which helps in keeping the mount attached. If you have a textured dash, then this product also comes with a mounting square that affixes to your dash so the suction cup can attach to it. The extending arm pulls your phone forward by about 2 inches which doesn't sound much on paper, but in practicality it is a world of a difference. There is a button on the bottom right that releases the mounting arms that hug your phone. Easy release and easy to put the phone back in place. I currently have the OnePlus 5t, and this mount can definitely hold a bigger phone. My fingerprint sensor is in the back and is NOT blocked by the mount at all. The arm grips are low enough to not block any buttons to the phone. My only recommendation to the manufacturer would be for this mount to have the ability to swivel left to right. As you can see in the picture, I have moved this mount to my work station and use it while working.

The Maxboost DuraHold Series Car Phone Mount comes with clear, easy mounting instructions; there are 3 different ways to mount it: Using a mounting square (recommended) on your dashboard, directly on your dashboard using a suction cup, and on the windshield. I mounted it directly on my dashboard by peeling off the thin plastic film protecting the sticky rubber and moving the lever inside and above the cup to create suction. I wasn't sure if this would damage my dashboard or be difficult to remove, but it came right off after an hour or so in the sun; no residue. Once the mount is attached to your car, you attach the part that holds the phone to the mount itself with a ball joint that snaps into the holder, then screw the nut tight; by loosening the nut, you can adjust phone angle. The holder is attached to an arm that is adjustable up and down as well as pulling out, bringing the phone about 2" closer to you. I have an iPhone XR and it looks big in the mount - at first I thought it was too big, but I put navigation maps on it and it looked great! For any car without navigation, this would work very well! Also to keep the driver hands-free, it is very easy to tap the answer button and talk without having to use more than peripheral vision. It does shake just a little on roads that aren't really smooth, but it wasn't really distracting and it held the phone securely. The adjustability of this phone mount is very good. In my car, it worked best with the arm low (folded flat) and pushed in all the way - smallest footprint. There is a quick release button on the right side of the phone holder - press to release the grip to adjust for your phone width and then squeeze them to tighten. Very easy. Very secure. The phone mount's directions indicate that "sun may affect how well the car mount adheres. Try to keep the Car Mount away from direct sunlight as much as possible". This may be difficult! If you mount it on the dashboard, though a shade could still be put in your windshield and would keep it cooler. Or maybe just release suction and put it away when your car is parked in the sun. Overall, I think this is a really nice car phone mount! I received this Maxboost Car Phone Mount in return for an honest review of it.

I'm in love with this product so far. The assembly was straightforward and with the design of my car, I'm able to get away with just using the suction cup. It is, however, a huge plus that they include an adhesive mount. Besides it being an overall quality product, the 3 biggest reasons I'm in love with the mount are: 1) Extending arm - being able to extend the phone helps me see the phone better, but more importantly, it clears my line of vision so that I am able to see the entire road without having to look around the mount 2) Ease of access - it takes 5 seconds at most to put my phone in the mount, and the quick release makes it even easier to remove it 3) Price - this is the best value I've found on Amazon There are other reasons for praise too: there is a space for the charge port so that you can still use an aux/charging cable; the arm swivels so you can adjust it to your desire; and unlike my a/c vent mount, there is enough clearance to where it's not blocking my cars airflow. I honestly haven't been disappointed by anything yet to include a CON list, however, I do wonder about the durability of the mount considering the low price. Fortunately, it came with a lifetime warranty so I should be all set on that front.

The Maxboost car mount is made of high quality plastic and does not feel flimsy. It can be positioned in many different ways to optimize viewing of phone. I like that it can attach on the car windshield or on the dash with the included mounting pad. It secured both my iPhone SE and iPhone Xr without any issues. Overall, a great car mount for the price from a reputable brand. Pros: -Durable -Many positions (can extend arm out, up or down, side to side) for best viewing -Mount to windshield or dash -Fits many different phone sizes Cons: -Does not attach to areas lower in car (vent, cup holder, etc) -Bulkier than other car mounts due its many features -Can not have a "pop socket" on phone and put in mount

This is my first time using the Maxboost Extended Arm Car Mount. Ii has a few more moving parts than my old one but it is a lot more stable and firmly seated once installed and the adjustment dials properly tightened. While the installation and user instructions are clear and easy to follow I did not need them because the mount is easy to install and use. The instructions include three install options, with a mounting square glass plate that adheres to the dashboard. This is the recommended method and preferred for surfaces that are not flat. The suction cup has a plastic covering that must be removed to allow the mount to stick to the mounting plate. It is removed by simply peeling it off. I installed it above the dash which offers a clear view of he phone. It only took a few minutes to install and adjust to my liking. Once the mount is installed it is ready to go. The mount rotates 360 degrees for easy adjustment. The mount head, neck and arm each has a dial that makes for easy adjustments as well. My iphone Xs max with a heavy duty protective case, fits snugly in the mount head but I had to remove the belt clip because the mount head wasn't deep enough to accommodate the protective case and the clip. It would be great if I could just put the assembled phone, protective case and belt clip in the mount, It's a minor inconvenience to remove the belt clip each time I have to put the phone in the mount, especially since I'm in and out of the car a lot, but it's worth the safety benefits. The mount absorbs all the bumps from the road and there's no movement from the mount or the phone. Once I adjust the phone the way I want it, it will not move, vibrate, change position or fall, even when I hit a bump or pothole. I really like the mount, as do my wife and kids. I recommend it as a practical and affordable gift. Raoul C.

I needed a car mount that would hold my heavy iPhone XS and work in any car I got into. The Maxboost DuraHold car mount does exactly that. I didn't want to switch to a magnetic case for my infrequent car use, and magnetic mount cases prevent wireless charging. The DuraHold mount uses a pleasing ratcheting action that grips the phone by the sides. There is foam padding to give it a little extra grip, and the mount needs to be released before it will give up the phone. The chin of the phone rests on a solid plastic piece. The articulating arm gets tightened and locked into position with thumbwheels. I was a little curious, so when I first got it I extended the arm strait out (simulating it being held by the windshield), popped my phone in and shook it hard (over a soft surface in case the phone went flying). In portrait It was fine, only in landscape did I get a small amount of movement if I was really shaking it. I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be driving along to have my phone launched at me if I was on some uneven surface. I resolved that it was safest to use it in portrait, but landscape would be fine too. The kit comes with a sticker that can be applied to a dashboard to give it a stronger hold in that configuration. I've only used it directly against the windshield, but the arm is adjustable enough to work either way. The only real requirement is having something a suction cup will hold onto. This means a clean, smooth, non-porous surface. You could even stick this thing to a desk if you were so inclined (the thought had crossed my mind when I first saw it). It's been nice to use and hasn't required me to switch cases, or commit to leaving it in one car.
