It just works
This was exactly what i was looking for: usb switcher with a remote button. I installed this on the underside of my desk to keep everything tidy. It's not designed to be installed upside-down, but with a little effort I was able to make it happen, and I used double-sided tape for the remote button which is mounted at the bottom edge of the desk. I would also like to mention I'm using this with a USB bus and it works with all the peripherals on both my mac and pc: keyboard, audio, and mouse and everything else. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, so I would recommend this for sure.

Must-have gadget if running 2 PCs on one monitor, mouse, and keyboard
Great product! Just what was needed to use my one monitor, keyboard and mouse between two computers. Press the button and just 2 or 3 seconds later I'm working on my other PC. The lag time others have mentioned may be more of a function of the speed of the computers to which this is connected. Considering that, when pushing the button, you are disconnecting the mouse, keyboard, and monitor from one PC and simultaneously connecting it to the 2nd, one must expect that it takes a moment for the 2nd computer to detect the connection. I'm very pleased with this device.

Great little gadget!
I recently rearranged and updated my office. Running two computers across a 3-screen setup, this little box has been the handiest of things I added to the setup. My only real complaint, which is almost trivial, is that the cable between the box and switch could be slightly thicker with more supportive connections. Thankfully this doesn't move around and once you're setup then all should be fine. I debated between a 4 or 5 star rating because of this, but figured it was worth no more than a 1/2 star deduction. Overall I'm quite pleased with the switch. There are software solutions out there, but for just two machines it wasn't worth the expense.

Great 4 port KVM switch
I needed a 3 port KVM and this looked like my best bet for getting something that would work. It works great and has the added benefit of the audio ports. The only thing that I'd change is to add a number on the ports (I hooked everything up and since it's all under a shelf and hard to reach, thus the reason for the KVM) to show without tracing back to the KVM switch which cables are which - I ran through them and found which was which and put markers on them so that I know at a glance which is which. I highly recommend this switch as it's easy to implement and works great!

Compact all-in-one USB switch and hub combo, great service!
I used to have a separate 4-port USB hub connected to a separate 4-PC USB switch to share various input devices with up to 4 computers (Mac, PC, Raspberry Pi, and Smart TV). This one combines both into one unit, and makes my desk very tidy. Built-in USB wires to the computers are long enough to connect to multiple PCs on both ends of my table, with an extra mini USB port to connect a power adapter (not included) in case you need an external power. It also has a PC-switching button with long wire that is not buit in the main unit, so very convenient to place the button close by. Very thoughtful design. Some people may want auto-detected USB switch (switches to a PC just powered up), but I love how this one is completely controlled by me by avoiding auto-switching in the most inconvenient and sometimes random way. I really hate to lose keyboard control while working on a computer and booting up another computer that I don't need to access right away, or turning on the smart TV that acts both as a monitor and a media device sharing the keyboard (I don't need the TV taking over my keyboard when I turn it on after the PC is turned on). The customer service was also superb as I had issue with detecting a Mac (it turns out it was my Mac's issue) and they tried to resolve it for my convenience (I eventually decided to keep it and not get refund once I found it wasn't the device's fault).

Very nice.
After owning one of these for years, and a 2-port unit before that (and a Belkin before *that*), I just bought a second 4-porter because I ran out of space. But they'll daisy-chain without noticeable loss (as I proved using the 2-porter), so I can get 7 or 8 ports depending on how far I can go with chaining. It's been completely reliable with W2K, XP, W7, *AND* FreeBSD. If I do several changes quickly, there can be a noticeable lag before it catches up and transfers the mouse and kbd, but that's the only problem I've had. These are less convenient but MUCH more reliable than the Belkin. My wishlist is 1. that the cables were longer---these would be perfect for multiple 2U-4U boxes in a rack, but they're a little short for the case of boxes sitting on the floor. They're not *too* short, but they don't have a lot of slack either. 2. that the "channel changer" had LEDs to indicate which box is current. If you have a machine running Windows, it's not going to boot headlessly so it's good to make it current before starting. But it's hard to see the lights on the "octopus" if you have machines spread out under and behind your desk. 4. that there was an 8-port version. Since the current ones can be daisy-chained, and the "channel changer" requires cycling through all the boxes, the daisy-chaining with 2 changers is actually more convenient than cycling through 8 boxes would be. So if they eventually do an 8-porter, I hope they do a selector that's better suited to 8 ports.

Cables might be a little short
While I love the price point and ease of setup, the product has two minor shortcomings: First the cables are only 35 inches long to the tip of the connector. I would wish for another 6 to 12 inches because my desktop computer is a tower that sits under my desk. Because of the cable length, I could not place the switch where I really wanted it. Also while one of the usb connectors has keyboard embossed on it you can't really see it when you are crawling under your desk. It would be nice if it were color coded instead. Since they are both usb it does not matter so much unless you just need one usb connected. You also have to look at the instruction sheet to see which side on the switch is the keyboard one. It would be nice if the switch side was also color coded. Other than those two minor inconveniences the switch works great for what I needed.

Exactly What I Needed!
This little switch was exactly what I was looking for. I have very limited desk space at home and I needed to find a way to squeeze in the work from home set up I got. This allows me to easily switch my current keyboard, mouse, and spare monitor over to my work computer without having to deal with messy cables. All I need to do is hit a button and I'm at work! This saved me from needing to find room for another mouse and keyboard, and allows me to use my third monitor on both computers. Besides that, seeing the I.T. department's faces when I told them I wouldn't need most of the stuff they sent me home with was priceless! If you're looking for an easy and inexpensive way to save some room, this is it!

Great choice on a budget KVM
This is exactly what I needed to deal with several headless systems, including an ESXi host. For less than forty bucks all in for 4 systems to hook up to one Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse... it's a great deal. Buying one more monitor (aside from 3 more of each device) would cost more than this switch costs. I've had no issues at all with any of the systems it's hooked up to and those systems range from ancient (P3 based) to relatively modern (AM3+ based) to brand new laptops. There has not been one issue. I'm not a big fan of the "remote switch" which really (for me) is just one more cable to have to deal with. I would prefer the switch being right on the kvm switch. Not a big deal and more of a nit so no deduction. One thing to note and this isn't always true, I've had no resolution issues. The systems that are either hooked up to it or get hooked up temporarily all have much different video capabilities. not one issue around that and for those versed in kvm switches know this is not always the case. If you need a budget kvm choice that really works, I have a hard time imagining you going wrong with this one.

Easy to use, very quick switch over between PC's
I use this for my dual-monitor home/work setup with another KVM--found it was much cheaper to have 2 KVM's than a single that switches dual monitors. I have this one only switching the second display, no Keyboard or Mouse as that's handled by the other switch but I've found that it switches very fast and the video is visible within 2-3secs. I especially like the extra button instead of the usual hot-key sniffer of other brands. In summary, I use another KVM I already had to switch the main display and keyboard/mouse and this switch only for the second display--I need to hit two buttons to switch between PC's the it's worth the money saved.
