My computer recognized the hub as soon as I connected it. The Ethernet port was the primary reason I purchased this unit. It works well as a USB hub and as an Ethernet adapter. I purchased this hub over others because the vendor isn't baiting and switching the product on their page. Other hubs have reviews for hand-bags, drones, car seats, or wine glasses on their page. Those vendors are either dishonest or incompetent. This hub's page on amazon had reviews only for this hub.

I have a hi-end AlienWare Laptop. It only had 2 USB 3.0 ports but it also has a few USB C ports. I have a bunch of units that need to be connected to the laptop and I was running out of ports. I also need a SD Slot to deal with my Camera Memory. Added to that was a needed USB 2 port. This compact USB device has it all. A USB C port so I can piggy back another unit on to this one. It has 2 USB 3 ports, 1 USB 2 port an RJ-45 (NIC) port, a SD Flash Memory Slot and a HDMI port. I plugged my camera memory into the SD port , a WD My Passport 1TB Drive into the USB 3 port and a USB 3 Flash Memory stick into the USB 2 port. They all were recognized by the system and opened. I am very happy with this unit. It works exactly as I hoped. Paul - IT/Network Support Group Owner.

What a surprise as this little gadget did everything advertised and was a breeze to setup meaning I just plugged it into my Dell XPS 9570 Laptop and everything worked. I had been working with a Dell TB16 Thunderbolt Dock for a week and was never able to get the Video to work and this device worked first time for a quarter of the price. Also nice design and compact so takes up little room in the Laptop bag.

I am using the TOTU 8-in-1 Type C USB Hub as a multi-port connection device in a conference room setting. The Hub does not require any setup procedures or drivers. It is connected to a Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6 tablet. I have two 16GB USB flash drives, an 8 GB SD card, an 8 GB micro SD card, an HDMI cable to a projector, Ethernet network and the tablet power adapter connected to the Hub. I can successfully read and write spreadsheets and high capacity video files simultaneously from/to all storage devices without interruption or buffering. I did not measure the transfer rates for any of the devices, however, there are no observable interruptions or delays with any of the file transfers or video presentations. The Hub is sleek, robust and appears to withstand the rigors of everyday use. It is being used as intended. I would recommend the Hub for everyday use, including office, field work and travel. I use it for presentations and it has been ideal.

I bought it mainly for a sd card reader and some extra USB ports. It turned out more useful that. Now it is the only cable besides power cord connected to my Nuc. The hub connects to my mouse/keyboard/monitor. It supports my 4K monitor nicely. Edited on Nov 12: If you are wondering whether it works with the new iPad Pro, let me tell you. Display works but usb mouse and keyboard don't. Apple really wants to sell its own keyboard:(

The Space Grey USB C Hub, TOTU 8-in-1 Type C Hub comes with Ethernet Port, 4K USB C to HDMI, 2 USB 3.0 Ports, 1 USB 2.0 Port, SD/TF Card Reader, USB-C Power Delivery. Hub works great with my 2018 Mac Book Pro. Package arrived on time and in good shape. The Hub is very well built and exceeded my expectations, I looked at a lot of hubs before i bought this on. The one year warranty clinched it for me, if they are that sure of their product I figured it was well made. The follow up email making sure it arrived was a nice touch. Highly recommend this product for anyone needing a Type C Hub.

I went on a vacation and took lots of my pictures. I had my laptop, an empty external disk drive, and an external SD card reader, so easy back up and off loading of pictures right? Not so easy, my laptop had only one USB 3 port and both my external hard drive and SD card reader required a USB port, so this became a timely two step process. First copy the hundred of images to my laptop, then copy the images to the external drive. With this device it's a one step process! Pro's: (1) Easy setup - There is none, you just plug it in. (2) Expands my 2-in-1 laptop from one USB 3 port + 2 USB C ports into a four USB 3 ports + one USB 2 port + 2 USB C ports. (3) Adds a SD and TF memory card readers, (4) Adds an Ethernet RJ-4 (5) I can now plug in an HDMI large screen monitor. In summary, a big expansion of my laptops utility for $60. Con's: Haven't found any. Would I recommend this to a friend: Absolutely

This little hub exceeded my expectation in almost every regard (OK fine it could cost a bit less - but you get what you pay for and more). First impression: it is much smaller than I expected and is feather light. The material looks quite nice (I have the grey one) and the build quality is excellent. Function test: everything works as they should on first try after connecting this to my Lenovo laptop running Ubuntu. The USB-C power passes through just fine and the laptop charges at full speed when the 65w power adapter is connected to the hub. HDMI is able to pass video/audio at 3440x1440@60hz to my ultrawide monitor with no observable issue(I don't have a 4K monitor so I can say how well it works at that resolution). Both card readers work with no problem. After an hour of continuous use (with power pass-through, HDMI and one USB3.0 port in use), the hub is barely warm to the touch. I have not tested the ethernet port, though the OS does recognized the ethernet port being present and unplugged. Minor issue: the HDMI output gets briefly interrupted if the external USB-C power is removed. Not a big issue since things come back after 2-3 seconds (though your windows may be re-arranged by the OS). The hub works just fine by drawing power from the computer. What can make this product even better: a slight longer cord will help. Is it possible to put another USB-c output? (though no other hub seem to have this either).

As I recently bought a new Macbook Pro (2017 model) and you only get USB-C ports, well that left me finding a USB-C hub that would allow me to get standard USB ports as well as SDCard and even HDMI and Network port. This is was one of the 8 in 1 hubs I ran across. Did alot of research and ended up getting this one, that was a good decision. First off this can be powered as a passthrough with my standard 87W USB-C charging adapter while using this device (there is a USB-C port on here). What I will say though is that MacOS System Information screen under Power doesnt show it using full 87w even though the description of the product says its 87w capable, now it shows 81w. So its 6w off, not a huge deal. What I also notice is that it cannot seem to know its talking to an Apple 87w charger, where if you plug the OEM USB-C straight into the Macbook it will show the details of the charger, again not a huge deal for me as its clear that it is basically using full power during charging. Second, I noticed a few reviews of folks claiming it didnt power their External HDD or DVD/CD drives, I was a bit hesitant when I saw that. I can confidently say that was incorrect from prior reviewers. This hub had no issues powering my DVD reader. No issues powering an external USB3 external HDD which had a 500gb Samsung EVO SSD. I put a standard 7200rpm laptop platter hard drive in that enclosure and still powered that laptop HDD up. So no issues on those devices. Plugged my iPhone into the USB2 port, was communicating and charging it, so good there. Lastly, used the HDMI with a 4K TV and it had no problem showing/displaying the screen at 4K. Used the gigabit port and was getting gigabit speed with a few speed tests. The SD card slot was also very good was maxing out the speeds based on my card I had in there so it wasnt crippling the SDcard speed which was great. So all in all Im happy with this hub and will use it probably daily now. I like how its also about the size of a deck of cards and about that thickness. The top and sides are made of what seems like an alloy. Bottom is plastic with some rubber feet.

The first one I received has worked well with my 2018 MacBook Pro 15", so I bought a second one for home use. I carry the first one with me in my backpack for portable use. I've used the USB-A ports, the HDMI and the wired ethernet. All have worked well. I also regularly use the charging pass-through with no trouble. The second is stationary on my desk, always plugged into wired ethernet and a spare Apple power supply. Basically an inexpensive charging and wired ethernet dock. Seemingly solid construction, and handy to be able to just plug one cable for charging and wired ethernet without removing anything from my backpack other than the laptop itself. I'll likely end up with a CalDigit TS3 Plus at some point for home use, but this works well for my current needs (charging and ethernet, occasional USB-A devices). The extra Apple power supply and cables are expensive, but on the other hand I've always bought a spare power supply anyway. My road-warrior one can stay in my bag when I'm at home (eliminates the risk of it being left behind when I head out), and if it dies I know I have a spare to get by until I can replace it. I've not yet used the SD slot on either one, but I assume they work fine. I haven't had them long, but so far I can highly recommend this device.
