Solid bike. I'm 39 and just getting into BMX, had many bikes over the years. This is a well made bike, all chromo, decent functional welding but not amazing. 21" TT makes for a nice fit for a bigger person I don't feel bunched up. Feels good and solid landing jumps at the park, inspiring confidence in this old wannabe. I didn't love the stock grips but that's a simple and cheap change out. Gyro tabs are removable with a small hex key. The stickers are easily removed too, I peeled a bunch right away. When I showed my kids the bike they said "Whooaaa, cool!" Now if I can just learn to manual...

I bought this bike to learn how to manual and bunny hop my mountain bike. Great value for a chromoly frame and sealed bearings. The bolt that adjusted the tilt of the seat was impossible to loosen when I got it, but I called the support at Mongoose and they're shipping me a new seat/seatpost. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the service and build.

1st off I'm 30 years old and about 187lbs and have owned diamond backs, dyno, gt, redline and have been riding bmx my whole life. Recently I have been riding an older redline that's has a 18.5in top bar for the last couple of years. Which is smaller than what I always rode. After riding my friends fit bmx one night I decided my setup was out of date. After searching bmx shops around the US for $300+. I came across the Legion series. After comparing the bikes to top name brands I didn't notice much difference. Then I came across the L60$175 & L80$205 Comparing both of those, they are almost exactly the same. So as of today my L60 arrived and I quickly put it together 20 minutes or less went over the entire bike like normal make sure everything is nice and tight(inspecting the welds) I took it to my back yard where I have a single table top type 4foot dirt ramp. Did a couple of bunny hops to get use to it. (Side note) the bike is a good light weight compared to my redline by at least 5 lbs or so. Anyway I hit my ramp around 20 times doing x ups, tail whips, bars spins etc this bike is handling it like a pro. My only problem is that the handle bars will need to be trimmed about 1/2in or 3/4in off the ends to shorten the spin radius. Also the bike I recieved was gray which is cool don't care much on color. Other than that, this bike is good enough for any rider young or older, hitting a 4 foot dirt jump.

Update: Few weeks with this thing and my only complain so far is the brake. I've already blown through the stock pads. Now, I am riding with my kids and we have plenty of hills around, so I ride the brakes a lot. Couple that with the fact that I am 185 pounds and you get the picture. I am researching adding a front brake as well to lighten the load a bit. I also wish the seat was a little taller. Also looking into a longer seat tube and perhaps a more comfortable seat. I still think for a "Complete" BMX bike, this is a great deal. I am learning that no complete bike is going to give you everything you want, but if you want custom, you are going to pay. I'm 35 years old and it's easily been 20 years since I've rode a bike. I hopped on this thing and it was like I was a kid again! Very well built and it fits me perfectly. I'm 5'7" and 185lbs and this bike seems to take my abuse with ease. It's a steal at this price and it's great for tooling around parking lots with my little kids. Assembly was a breeze as well. I have nothing but good things to say. Just buy this one! You won't be disappointed!

Most of the bad reviews come from the lower end models (L60, L40, L20, L10)... and there’s a reason for that.. you get what you paid for. The L100 I purchased is a very solid bike for the price. $300 for a complete is extremely cheap compared to other completes that are full chromoly ($500+). Ive put this bike through some tough trails, dirt jumps, skateparks, etc and it’s held it’s own so far. If you want a solid “beginner” bike that will last you a few years then cough up a little more cash and get the L100. Totally recommended. (Another reason there’s so many bad reviews is probably because people don’t take the time to assemble the bike THE RIGHT WAY... putting everything on and tightening all the nuts and bolts and riding off will get you a broken bike soon enough)

I bought this on sale for under $200. Ive rode it just about every day for almost a year now. Many parts on complete bikes are cheaper than custom individual parts. Ill give a run down of what I've changed or had issues with. Grips were nice and lasted, but the rubber was a bit hard/rough changed them for S&M Hoder Grips. Bars are still in EX condition. Stem has been really great no issues. Frame/Bearings have been great and lasted. The headset and BB bearings were regreased(after a year) and still work well. Forks no issues.Front wheel/hub the front wheel has had to be trued twice the loose ball hub has been regreased/serviced 5 times(one every 3 months) the 15mm 3/8 nuts were changed out to 17mm 3/8 Shadow Nuts. Sprocket is steel and slips alot due to the teeth design. I replaced it twice using a Shadow 25T Kobza as 28T really wont fit well on this frame with the chain stays s-bend. Chain it comes with is a KMC z410 ive replaced 8 times, none broken just stretched from riding. have a 510HX chain now that is amazing. Rear wheel and hub the hub has the non drive side loose ball have regreased is 3 times as it stays pretty clean the cone does need adjustment from time to time.Brakes are pretty decent. Ive replaced the Lever, cable pads with Odyssey. Clear slim by 4 pads seem to be best . the calipers arewide and meant for 2.4 wide tires so nothing really on the market can replace them for cheap. I don't use the seat but its nice quality. The pedals that come with the bike are trash, ive replaced them 3 times and have S&M GnS pedals on now. The 3-piece cranks have been good, they need adjustment from time to time and the axle is slip fit so it can squeak if no grease is on it. Most BMX axles you need to hammer threw the BB but this one is just not made to that high quality standards. Last the tires they are nice street tires, fast and no rolling resistance really but the Low Pressure and the soft compound on the whole tread area make it prone to lost of flats. One side wall was scrubbed a bit and developed a bulge. I had maybe 15-20 flats in 6 months riding them. I switched out to Primo Churhill tires in 2.4 and its a world of difference. Overall is very cheap starting point to start BMX and you get alot of things that will last. The 2018 Models have 2-piece cranks and different tires which might help the overall issues on low quality parts a bit. The Good: Frame Forks Bars Stem Rims The Bad: unsealed Hubs, basic chain/grips The Ugly: Tires Sprocket

Came a day early. Let me start with I'm 6 ft 5 inches tall and 185 pounds. I'm 18 years old and have been riding BMX bikes my whole life it's a great bike for the price. Not heavy for me easy to handle. Assembly easy, I have built bikes from the frame up before so I am experienced on putting bikes together. But even someone who doesn't know how to put a bike together could put it together I feel all you have to do is put handle bars on, pedals, seat, and front wheel. Have to add air into tires because they don't come full of air. Great bike for the price five stars only downfall is for people who want pegs on it the rear wheel threads are bigger then all others because of the style. But I don't like pegs not one to grind. Great bike great price worth every penny.

Our son loves this bike. He’s 8, about 60 pounds, tall and skinny. Easy to put together. It’ll last him awhile! ***One thing I would caution is the pegs have scratched the heck out of a few things in and round the garage due to rider error and the like. Because they’re just painted metal, the edges will easily scratch anything they’re leaned on/against. Our son doesn’t even use the pegs yet so we opted to take them off. When he wants them back on, we will look into some sort of coated pegs.

AWESOME. super light, took it to the park today. this thing kills it. the only thing that is acting up is the bolt inside the seat to hold it on its pivot keeps loosening. no big deal though, easy fix. this is a great bike to get started on. like I said its super light, fast and easy to maneuver. if you are looking for a nice full cromo bike do not think twice about this one. buy, buy, buy it. the rims are double walled, 21 inch top tube, bearings are fully sealed, pedals are ok. not super grippy but don't suck either, the stock tires are 20-60 PSI I believe it was, I have mine on 50lbs. they feel pretty good to be stock. brake was great out of the box....I know mongoose has gotten themselves in hot water by "selling out" but this bike is not a Walmart bike. this is a pro quality bike at a great price. do yourself a favor...retire your (insert expensive brand name here} for a bit and give thise bike a shot. or if you are just getting into the sport, this is the bike for you.

This is the most bang for the buck you can get at this price range! The L100 has everything you should be looking for in a BMX. Made of full “4130-Chromoly” (the frame, fork, handlebars, and cranks). NOT “hi-tensile” steel. Also has strong double-wall rims, female front axle, and sealed bearings. The Burgandy paint finish looks to be high quality as well... Definitely recommend this bike. Nothing comes close to it for $300!
