From Unstable to AMAZING!
I wanted to change my 1 star review to 5 stars due to the amazing customer service support I received and concern that was addressed by the seller. (I'm leaving my original review below to refer back to). The company responded immediately upon seeing my issues and offered to refund me or send me a replacement; they had concerns that the heater I received was malfunctioning. They also acknowledged missing information in their ad about the product and the temperatures you can set the heater to; they have since corrected this, took responsibility and apologized to me for the problem! How many other companies do you know that will own up to their shortages and actually fix my issue and theirs when they say they will! I now want to apologize to the company for negatively reviewing them so quickly and not letting them fix the issue first. I love this heater, and will never use a different one! It is sleek, it has a gorgeous design, and most importantly, it is safe for my plants and livestock. Thank you so much Hygger! My original review: Maybe I'm using this product wrong... but it seems like it's pretty straightforward. I've placed the submersible heater into my tank horizontally as recommended and set the tank temp to '79'. When I went back to check on it roughly an hour later, the temp spiked to 85... I turned the remote down to '77'. I check back about 30 minutes later and found it to be exactly at 79. "Great!" I thought. I came back and checked it again after running a few errands and the water had dropped to '73'... At this point, I'm super confused. I change the temperature yet again to '79' and watched as the temperature did hit this and then keep going... it went up to 83. Whenever I have the temperature set between the numbers (i.e. it shows 77 and 79 as options, and I place it in the middle, at 78) it seems to shut off completely. I just walked into my room to check on my tank and it's at 70!!!!! I recently purchased $200+ of livestock for my tank and HALF of them have died from what I am assuming is DRASTIC temperature changes (I check water parameters daily and the quality is perfect). Very disappointed in this heater, especially for the cost of it.

Just as good as big name brands
I received the Hygger HG-808 100W aquarium heater. It was shipped in a very timely matter and packaged very professionally. To be honest i was nervous about using this as a person who is used to using products such as Fluval and Cobalt brands. But i would put Hygger products against those brands any day. The heater is doing great in my 29 gallon tank. I love the fact the temp control is on the outside of the tank.

Love the temperature control
Love that it has a gaurd, indicator light and that the temperature control is on the cord, not on the top of the heater like many others are. Love this heater! Can't wait for my fish to arrive so they can love it too!!

Work great and inexpensive
I have had this heater couple days in my 75 gallons tank ,and I must say that I like it very much. It works great and very easy to set up. It heats up my tank very quickly and and keeps the temperature exactly where I set it at. Definitely will buy again if I set up new aquarium in the future.

If you need to maintain a temp under 75 - look elsewhere
If you're looking for a heater to keep your water temp in a range warmer than straight room temp water (about 60 degrees) and 73 degrees then this heater isn't for you as the lowest temp setting it offers is 75 degrees. I couldn't be happier with this aquarium heater. It arrived quickly and came well packaged. I installed it today into a 55 gallon aquarium that will be used in an aquaponics set up. So far the tank is only 3/4 full and began with a temp around 60 degrees, but after a few short hours of running this heater the temp has climbed into the 70s and is keeping the temp at both ends of the tank which is 4 feet long consistent. I am amazed that it is keeping such consistent temps across a tank this size when the maximum size tank listed in the description is 60 gallon. The temperature dial is very generic and leaves a broad range of temps between each different setting. I have mine set at 77 and am curious whether this unit shuts off like it is supposed to once the temp reaches 2 degrees above and then turn back on once it reaches 2 degrees below. I have read reviews that this is an issue and that it continues to heat the tank or even stops working, but others haven't had these kinds of issues and love this heater. With this just being installed today, I will have to use this for a while and then update my review once I have more relevant information. Update: After using this heater for the last 3 days it is performing like it is supposed to. I have the heater set to 77 degrees and once the water reaches about 78.8-79.4 the heater shuts off and doesn't turn on until the temp drops to about 75.4. So far this heater is performing like a champ even after I have finished filling the 55 gallon aquarium. Pros: packaging, arrival time, ease of installation, simple temp dial (single click is 2 degree change), keeps consistent temps across a 55 gallon tank Cons: simple temp dial (lowest temp is 75)

Wow!
Wow. I have other Hygger heaters, and love them. This one intregued me, so I had to give it a try. Previously, I was running two 200 watt heaters in my 60 gallon aquarium, but switched over to this beautiful 300 watt heater. Itâs quite stunning, and I really like the milky quartz look. Itâs like a functional piece of art. The cage/sleeve/protection around the element isnât supposed to be removed, which is different from typical aquarium heaters where the element is inside of glass, then slid into the sleeve. So far, I love this heater. I do not feel the need to run two heaters to keep a consistent temp, it keeps my tank exactly where I want it to be. Oh, it also has a red light under the quartz, near the top, that illuminates when it is actively warming. I kinda like this feature. Itâs not bright enough to be a distraction, but you can still see it while in a well lit room. So far, Iâve had nothing but complements on this heater, and my pleco didnât mind the change. But, my bumblebee cat feels a bit displaced because I no longer need two heaters đ.

Sleak design and easy to adjust temp
Extra long cord and easily adjusting dial made this a very easy to use heater. Also like the sleak design. Set temp to 81 degrees and it is within a half a degree of where it's set! Much better than some of the cheap heaters I've purchased off Amazon!

No worries!
This is the future of aquarium heating! I am using this in a tank I have set up for hatching and first months of baby Angelfish. I will be back to update.

Good design quality and its very reliable, 100% recommended.
I got my hygger heater a few weeks ago and i am in love with it, it works amazing and the external temperature controller works great, no more getting your hands wet while changing the temp. The design is absolutely beautiful!! Overall i do recommend it and its very reliable

Product testing, Product tested! Product approved!
I have been testing this heater out for the past month in my planted 29g, it took a few weeks to get it adjusted and tuned in, was having to set it to 84 to get the water to 80, after about 2 weeks or so, it is now within less then 1 degree from what it is set at to what the tank is registering! The price is very competitive within the market, the construction is quality, one thing that makes this heater stand out is it comes with the outer protection barrier, that most including some of the higher cost brands do not ( extra charge option ) As a business owner myself i would recommend this heater as well as Hyggers other products and will be inquiring on carrying their brand!
