These cases are great, they look nearly identical to the original long box jewel cases that get so easily damaged. They are also fragile just like the originals, but it is really nice to be able to replace the ugly cracked up cases in my collection with these like new cases.

Perfect for Saturn Games, before I had purchased these, I had a mint condition of house of the dead NTSC that I take care of immensely, case with no cracks or scratches with hinges completely intact. My other cases however were less than average condition. These cases are above and beyond the quality of the mint case in comparison; harder plastic and clearer sheen lets the full color of the manual and back art shine through entirely; the pieces are unrecognizable after the case exchange. The case does have a snug fit when closing, ensuring the hinge won’t swing open on you and the disc stays flushed in the bracket. Will definately exchange the cases of my collection with these replacements.

I purchased the first production run last year and those were not very good. These however are night and day. They appropriately lock closed, they stay closed and don't swing open, and most importantly all of the cases arrived undamaged as opposed to having several damaged from the first prodcution run. Excellent cases, a little pricey, but I feel these are worth it for serious collectors.

A few months ago, I started looking for replacement cases for my Saturn games. (about 1/3 of my cases had cracked or broken hinges). The first run of these cases had been released, but the reviews weren't great. I had read that Limited Run Games was also producing Saturn cases, and decided to wait for those to be released. After months of waiting for Limited Run to provide an update on their cases, with no end in sight, I lost patience. I checked Amazon again, and saw that the second run of these Saturn cases had been released. They promised tighter tolerances and better feel, so I took a chance and ordered them. The cases came individually wrapped inside a large box with ample padding. There were no cracks to be seen on any cases. The quality of the plastic is much nicer than on modern CD replacement cases, and has a good thickness. Each component of the cases is interchangeable with the OG Saturn cases, which I definitely appreciate. I replaced the doors of some cases, the backs on others, and both on quite a few. The tray isn't as nicely textured as the original Saturn cases, and is missing the Compact Disc logo, but since none of my trays were damaged, I just reused the originals. The cases shut close with a satisfying click, and don't appear to wobble at all. All in all, these are great replacement cases for my Saturn games, and if any more of them break, I would not hesitate to order more.

I swapped my virtua fighter manual and back panel into this case and with the exception of it not saying Compact Disc inside you cant tell it apart from the original. I no longer have to worry about buying Sega CD or Sega Saturn games on amazon or Ebay thanks to these cases. Every collector should get these today!

I had ordered the first generation of cases and promptly returned them based on the closing issue. This run I have had zero issues with. It was even packed better than the first run. This arrived in a double box(instead of a bag) and I was able to swap over the tray insert and all manuals and the case closes like stock.

UPDATE 3/16/2019: This is the last update I'll post. I've ordered about 8 packs of these now and all except two packs have had exactly one case each with the issue mentioned in my 1/30/19 update. I'm going to try and fix them though by building up the nub with a drop of resin or something. UPDATE 1/30/2019: I've ordered another 20 total (2 separate orders) and have come across two that the bottom edge of the door won't stay locked in. This is due to the nub that holds it in place being too small to catch the hole it must lock into. It only becomes a problem when I have a foam tray insert pushing against the manual as it will prevent the door from sitting flush. Not really an issue when it's filed on a shelf, but not perfect either. INITIAL REVIEW: After ordering ~50 1st run cases, which my last 10 I returned due to their horrible condition, I gathered some faith and ordered 20 of these so called improved 2nd run cases. I inspected all of them and here are my thoughts. Not one arrived cracked or broken. The plastic on these are clear and blemish free. The door shuts tight on all, in fact I usually need two hands to open them, and the trays snap in. Everything has a tighter quality. I think the tolerances were reworked (hinges don't wiggle, etc.). They were also well packaged (see pics). This is what they originally should have been and I really hope it stays at this level. My one or so negative. Unlike the first run, the trays no longer have the compact disc logos stamped in them. I believe the cost is also higher than the original price of the first run. It's up to you if it's worth it for an uncompromising product. Kudos to the producer for backing up the repeated claim that the 2nd run would fix the 1st's issues.

Purchased these after seeing and hearing about them on Youtube. Totally worth the money to replace broken or well worn SEGA CD or SEGA SATURN cases. Really well built and they open and close without any issues. If your original trays are still intact you can swap those in place of the replacement ones as well. Great product all around! I hope to buy more when I need them!

4.5 stars. No reproduction is perfect, but after trying several Saturn replacement cases these are easily the best. Everything fits and looks great. Will have to wait and see about durability, but they don't feel cheap compared to others. Great way to revitalize games on display, and protect them too.

I could be bit-picky and complain that there were a couple of visual flaws on my cases, slight abrasions and one spot of black plastic seemingly fused to the front cover, and that the disc tray doesn’t have the “compact disc” logo and that the textured edges are more transparent than the originals making them stick out when viewed from above, but I feel that would be too petty and missing the point. These cases are great quality and so close to the originals that it’s silly to criticize their little imperfections. Everything fits together nicely and securely (I read that was a problem with the original run, but definitely not with these). My OCD has me using the original trays with these because the trays on the originals are almost never broken and I want that stupid “compact disc” logo. Have used them with both Sega CD and Saturn cases and everything lines up nicely. The one situation where I used the whole new case was with a PS1 longbox title where I had long since lost the whole original case, and it makes the game look brand new. Overall superb. Priced very reasonably as well. Would have liked the option to only order 5 because most of my cases are in fine shape so I don’t need 10 replacements, but I’m confident I’ll find a use for them over time. Tangent: At one point Limited Run Games had announced that they were also making a large batch of replacement cases just like these which were supposed to go on sale as of January 2019, however it looks like they won’t be selling them directly after all - instead they’ve been using them in certain collectors editions. My guess is that they don’t want to compete with these replacements out of respect for the guy who put so much work into having them made, but that is completely speculation and the truth is probably more complicated. My only interest in the LRG version over these was the fact that LRG said they were making the cases out of a more durable material. The original cases are polystyrene and I believe these cases being sold here are also, whereas the LRG cases are supposedly acrylic. The bottom line is that these cases should be at least as durable as the originals and there’s no point holding out for LRG as they’ve had their stockpile of cases for 7 months (according to messages I’ve personally exchanged with them) and have decided not to sell them for whatever reason.
