UPDATE 3/20/19 About an hour later... I just got off the phone with Nancy at the Polarmade company. I called the 800 number listed on the company website and I was pleasantly surprised that not only did someone answer, she did not transfer me to someone else. I explained that the pole had broken during use, and without a single inference of negligence or attempt to shirk the company responsibility, she arranged to a replacement section of handle to be sent to me, FREE OF CHARGE! I've added back the fifth star to my review to reflect the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE this company provides. They stand behind their product, and I'm a raving fan. UPDATE 3/20/19 While using the full 30' handle (6 x 5-foot sections) that came with the Snowpeeler Premium I had a large slab of snow slide down the handle, causing one of the junctions to snap near the middle of the entire length. The photo is the clean break at what must be assumed to be the weak link in the system. The aluminum handle sections are mechanically tapered to slide into one another, making for a quick and simple assembly. Unfortunately, this mechanical squeezing weakens the metal at the junction, which is where the break occurred. While I still recommend the product as a far safer means of snow removal than shoveling from the roof itself, it seems that the weight of the snow being removed must be taken into consideration. I've removed one star from my prior 5-star review for this failure. I'll be reaching out to the manufacturer to see if they will replace the damaged handle section as a warranty issue. I'll update this review with that outcome. ORIGINAL REVIEW 3/12/19: The quality of the tool is top notch. Assembly took 15 min with my adjustable wrench and the included hex wrenches in the box. All the parts fit well, and the machining is very clean. The instructions are somewhat vague, as they require you to match parts to the instruction guide diagram only. There is no written assembly instructions or tips. I did find a good video online that explained everything very clearly. I recommend you visit the web BEFORE assembly. It helps. As for function, the tool does NOT save effort. It saves time and probably injury. By working fro the ground you stay safely standing whereas shoveling on the roof would be treacherous to say the least. The tool with 25’ of handle in use can be unwieldy and the weight, while not too bad initially, does wear you out. I worked for about an hour on 36-48” of rooftop snow that is 3 months old and the cutting head did its job. At times the head would hang up on an icy section and the handle would flex downward bashing into my gutter. No damage was done but be warned that the tool is probably best suited for fresher snow than I have. All said, I have no regrets with this purchase and recommend the tool and maker.

I have hesitated on buying this snow roof rake for several years. Having used the traditional snow shovel which often left a significant amount of snow on the roof, because it more often than not just compacted the snow. I decided to spend the extra money. I was truly amazed at how well it works in getting the snow off the roof it's not even comparable to the old style snow shovels. I even use this product on snow that had been sitting on the roof for several weeks and although it took a little bit of effort because it was frozen it still worked great. One word of caution when using this product is that when I was removing large chunks of snow off of the roof, it would slide down the pole and strike you. However this is just gravity in action. I highly recommend it to any person I come across, it is second to none.

Buy it before you need it ! I had checked local suppliers for a 120 mile radius but they were all sold out. It is a well liked product! Shipped it pronto and I had it in 2 days. Brief assembly required. Allen wrench supplied, but will need crescent wrench or pliers. Hint, there is a helpful youtube video. I bought the 30 foot handle which is in 6 pieces, and I don't think it can be lifted into place with all that handle. I used 3 pieces for a 15 foot handle to get the peeler end on the roof, then I added handle pieces as I worked it further up on roof. My roof eave is 14' off the ground so some of the handle length just gets me up to the roof. Tried to use it from a ladder, but really not steady enough to do. Use it before the snow gets too compacted. My snow had compacted too much, it had built up for 2 months and it really took a lot of jabbing to slice into it. I eventually had to just climb up and use a shovel to finish, and it was quite difficult to slice into the snow with a shovel, so I was impressed at how well the Sno-peeler had done! Next year I will do it much sooner while the snow is softer. Some people thought the handle was to easy to bend, well, at 30 feet, yes it can be bent, but you just have to keep the handle straight as possible and jab straight. Most of the handle lays on the roof so it is not hard to keep it in line. I spent many hours of pretty vigorous jabbing and the handle is fine. It is true that when the snow cubes slide down, they tend to slide perfectly down the handle and hit you, but a with little trial and error, I learned to get the cube of snow to tip off before it hit me. If the snow is not so compacted, it will fall apart before sliding down to hit you. The strip of material for the snowslide is quite durable. However I used the weighted slide on a metal roof and the sheet metal roof edge eventually started shredding it. Still it lasted longer than I thought it would. The shorter slide with the bungie cord doesn't rub on the sharp roof edge, but I had to work further up the roof so had to use the longer slide. Very happy with the product. I have ordered a new slide and I am going to be ready for the next snomagedden.

It really got the snow off of my roof. It was a little difficult to maneuver with the number of sections that I needed to use but there isn't anything that could be done to improve that. Had to really watch out for the boxes of snow that came sliding down the chute!

I expected this to arrive and last maybe half way through the job before it broke. I was happy to see it was built solid and I was able to lean on it while pushing through the frosted snow. Works well, assembles easy.

I love the SNOWPEELER PREMIUM ROOF RAKE. Easy to put together and looks like it is well built. It works great, the snow comes off the roof fast. I'm glad I went with the 30 foot length one - gives you a lot of reach. It does give you a work out tho - my arms and shoulders were tired because the snow was heavy. It's better than getting on the roof and shoveling.

This worked exactly like I thought it would. The snow on my roof had been there all winter and I needed to get it off before unseasonable spring rains. Getting the snow off sooner would have been easier, but even with some long-settled snow this was a wonderful tool

This item is great for getting snow off your roof. We love it. After the first couple of uses, one of the glides fell off and took one of our roof shingles with it. But it was an easy fix with a better screw.
