Parallels 14 is Easy to Install, Setup, & Use
Parallels 14 for Mac was easy to install. I bought it for my granddaughter’s MacBook Pro, so she could run her homeschool software that requires Windows. It’s easy to setup & easy to use. I’ve used other products that do the same thing & Parallels I about the easiest to use. I recommend it!

Nice Integration Between Windows and Mac
Parallels offers an easy way to run Windows and other OS’s on your Mac. There was no install media in the box, just a bi-fold sheet with instructions on where to download the installer, and a license code. One option for Parallels Desktop is a subscription model, which costs less, but has to renewed every year to keep running. The advantage is as new versions of Parallels come out, they can be installed at no additional cost, as long as the subscription is current. The subscription option is what I am using. The install process is very simple. I chose to use the Windows 10 installer option, which downloaded Windows 10 from Microsoft and initiated the install process - all surprisingly seamless. Once that was done, I had a Windows 10 virtual machine running on my 2017 27” iMac. I have an internal SSD, which matches Parallels recommendation. Windows is nicely integrated - my Mac desktop files showed up on my Windows 10 desktop - as did my home directory with all my files and folders. My printers were available as well. This level of integration makes a good case for using Parallels with Windows instead of simply using a separate Windows computer (which is what I normally do). I doubt I will be using my Windows laptop as much now. I used the default settings for testing. This included dedicating two cores, and allocating 2 GB of ram. Performance is good for opening files and launching applications. There is very little lag. It “feels” like a “real PC”. Devices worked fine when plugged in. When I plugged in my USB game pad and flash drive, Parallels picked them up, and asked if I wanted it to use them on the Mac or in Windows. Settings for Parallels are intuitive. Once a virtual machine is configured, it is possible to go back and reallocate more ram for the Virtual Machine, and do other things such as manually allocate ram for graphics. It is possible to take “snapshots” of a virtual machine in case something goes awry. Parallels supports other operating systems through either USB install media, a disk image or using their built-in installer, which will download different distributions - including several flavors of Linux (including Mint and Debian). The software makes it very easy to use, and definitely makes the case of using a VM as being a good option for developers who need to support multiple operating systems. I have used other VM products in the past, and Parallels’ tight integration between Windows and the Mac makes it a compelling choice. In all I am impressed with what Parallels has accomplished.

Perfectly good product. Works better than VirtualBox.
If you are want the most trouble free solution to using Windows on a Mac, then I recommend this software. It install drivers automatically and supports numerous (if not all) peripherals and graphics options. It is highly performant and you would like this over open source products. Remember, you would need to purchase your own Windows 10 license. Pros: 1)The most trouble free and performant software to run Windows on Mac. 2)Install updates and drives automatically 3)Supports all Mac peripherals Cons: 1)It software version upgrade requires new purchase every year.

Very intuitive
My MacBook Air is over 3 years old and I am running Windows 10. While I am still trying to learn how to use Windows, Parallels runs seamlessly and integrates my documents between platforms without a hitch.

Parallels: It Just Works!
Installed Parallels V14 on my Macbook. I use it to run copies of Windows 7, Windows 10, Linux and Raspbian (Raspberry Pi OS). It works great! I had a support issue, but their customer support help right through it, very quickly in two emails. I buy the yearly upgrades. This is the best VM product for the Mac

Absolute Best
Parallels is the absolute best way to run Windows on your Mac period. It has the easiest install and setup of any VM Software on the market. This new version of Parallels now supports the use of external eGPUs in Windows. An awesome and useful feature. The product on Amazon is for a subscription which lasts for one year. I'm not a huge fan of the subscription business model every company seems to geared towards these days. I don’t like paying out ever year to use a program that gets expensive. Thankfully, they have a one time permanent license on their website for $100. The only thing it does not include is remote access from an iOS device. Other than the new sales model they have switched to, Parallels is the best option for running VMs on your Mac.
