It is very bright and zaps with lots of force. It can startle you at first but you get used to it. And then you start cheering every time a disgusting annoying fly gets zapped. It's fun for the whole family... except our tiny dog who is taking a little longer to adjust to it. But I think he's okay with it now. It's been a big year for flies in Texas so this has come in handy.

When you business is all about sweet stuff (FOOD) , it gets so many fly around and follow! Sometimes it gets out of control . Found this zapper on amazon as start! it came in nice packing and great quality ! The build is pretty solite, all parts looks good quality and after turn it on for 1 hr the answer shocks me ! IT WORK !!! the purple light drag all the attention and bring all the fly in for " zapp" . The final outcome is great ! it shocks me but i love it ! I end up buying 6 more to set in the kitchen area to make sure no more fly ! I hope my review take cares all the reviewer! Yes i will buy again if I need more in future.

In previous review, the loud "pop" you hear eventually does not startle, but gives you a fuzzy warm feeling that those bloodsuckers and pests are one less. Almost makes me want to high five someone.... Mine is between the kitchen and den, and emits a nice black light glow downstairs that sort of helps us meander around in the dark for that midnight snack... LOL... and reminds me of the 60's. I can't imagine life without my zapper. The mosquito bites have reduced a great deal. No complaints, we're close to a mosquito-laden creek, and it works while the bats are in winter migration to Mexico.

I read another review about killing gnats, and that person used a bait near the unit like an open beer. It makes sense, because I have noticed that whatever gnat variety I have, could care less about the lights. However, I know that my variety likes wine (not so much apple vinegar, and the other talked about gnat baits). So I just painted the bug tray with some wine using a small basting brush. Efficiency and kill ratio went way up. This is only on my gnats , which appear to be drain flies. I love this thing... I sit on my couch, hear the zap, and utter "Another one bites the dust".

No more noise than our outdoor zapper and it absolutely works !!! I knew mosquitoes were coming in every time the door was opened, but I didn't know just how many until we plugged this in and set it in the living room. ZAP. ZAP. ZAP. Die you little buggers. I'm trying to order another, but it says this one is out of stock and Amazon doesn't know when or if it will be available again. According to my husband, an electronics tech for the last 48 years, the bulb in this is a black light and others we have had are infrared -- a difference in the light spectrum that bugs really like.

Finally a fly product that did anything! I have tried all kinds of traps and sprays, and even just spent time swatting them manually. But nothing has been able to eliminate my fly problem. Nothing could cat h more than one or two flies in a week, while a dozen more flew around nearby. This thing though, got its first kill within a few minutes. Cleared my kitchen up over night. Its not "perfect" but it does the job well enough for all five stars. If I could improve anything, it would be a longer power cable, and a slightly redesigned tray at the bottom to ensure all the flies land on it. Some people may be bothered by the (very) loud pop sound flies make when they hit this thing. If you are right by it, it can be quite alarming. But I personally love hearing it do its job. Might be a problem if you have kids/animals that are easily frightened (or awakened) so keep that in mind. The cord problem is really more of a problem with my house (not enough outlets in the kitchen), but if they just added a little more length it would be nice. I anticipate needing to replace the bulbs at some point, I will update this review when I do, to give an idea of how long they last.

Have had this unit up and running for approximately an hour and i am simply amazed. I can't speak to other flying insects yet but, this thing is a gnat's bane of existence. At least 100 dead already and this thing is pure entertainment as the smaller gnats literally explode into nothing. The larger ones lie at the bottom on their back kicking their legs in agony as you laugh at them for annoying the hell out of you and now, it's payback time!

It's the first night in a week I wasn't awakened by mosquito bites! It's been raining alot all spring here in Texas, and there's a bumper crop of ravenous mosquitos. Apparently a few got into the house, and kept bitting me in the night - never saw them during the day. The first night, I wasn't sure if it would work, but befire I fell asleep, I heard a small "pop" and realized I'd just scored my first mosquito. It's very quier, and the cats weren't concerned. The power cord is a little short (about 2 feet), but you can use an extension if necessary.

I have never seen so many mosquitoes in LA area this year and I decide to get an electric bug Zapper for my kids. It works so well and it can kill a tray of bugs in 3 hours. I don’t think Amazon will allow me to post the dead bug photo here lol! Great product! I will recommend to hang it high if you have kids since this Zapper to too powerful!

I have purchased multiple Aspectek Bug Zapper and it is still the most effective bug zapper that I have ever owned. It feels weird to be recommending a product that is good at killing, but this is exactly what it is. It is a pest worst nightmare. It is a death trap for those pesky mosquitoes and flies. I really like the fact that it is safe for indoor use. The outer housing and grid protect children from getting shocked. You can also hang it up and out of the way if you need to. A simple design that is deadly to unwanted visitors but perfectly suitable for everyday life.
