I got this product due to price for my small one man shop the owner is sending a case and filter that I am missing for my combustion test on my customers older furnaces. I am extremely happy with the product and when comes time to hire another tech will be buying them one to use as well. I would recommend this product for small shops to use.

The unit is very easy to use and appears to be accurate.

Great Product

I bought the Forensics CO meter and companion gas pump because I had recently purchased a portable standby generator, for immunity to PG&E (Pacific Greedy & Electric) public safety (hah!) power shutoffs (PSPS, aka patently stupid power shutoffs). The Forensics CO meter and gas pump are easy to use, seem well built. Although I have multiple CO alarms in my house and now one in my garage, as well, I wanted the Forensics CO meter as a backup, since I sometimes run the generator just inside my garage, with the door open and the exhaust aimed outwards. The CO meter's response is FAST; when I wasn't getting indications of CO gas anywhere inside my garage with the generator running, I tested the meter with a cigar. Wow. Audible alarm, visual alarm (flashing red bars on each side of display), and mechanical alarm (vibration). There is no way you would miss an alarm. Running a generator inside your garage anywhere is supposedly dangerous, but the exposure was minimal in my case, so I think the threat is exaggerated as long as you use common sense and keep the garage door open, with the generator just inside the garage and with its exhaust aimed outwards. In any case, with a CO alarm and a CO meter, I am not too worried about CO poisoning. Keeps the generator from getting rained on. Weird that Amazon won't ship the CO meter to a California address, but will ship the gas pump or the kit with both the meter and the gas pump to a California address (wish I had known that at the start). Had the CO meter shipped to my daughter's address in Louisiana, then forwarded to me in California. I separately purchased the gas pump; purchasing the kit with both the meter and the pump avoids the Amazon stupidity.
