I have become a Traeger convert over the past few years. This model is the perfect place to start! You get a ton of flavor when cooking with wood, but since the food doesn’t touch the flame directly, you don’t have to worry about flare ups or charring food too much! Also, when learning how to keep consistent temperature, it’s important to plug it into a strong power source. I live in an old house with terrible wiring, and just learned that half of my outlets are much better than the others. I have had incredible results with this model staying up to temperature, and love that the temp bounces back quickly after opening the lid. This is THE grill for anyone who is getting started cooking outside.

I initially had consistency problems when I first had my Traeger 22". I called them and found them to be helpful. Soon I got the hang of it. It is the best grill I've ever had. Been grilling for 40 years. Had a ton. 2nd smoker. Love the temperature control. Never had it before. I've all but quit using my gas grill. Cleaning is a snap, unlike my infrared gas grill. I feel for you Jason. You must have gotten a lemon.

I am a Traeger lover and this is one of my favorite models Traeger has released (especially the bronze). These smokers have changed the way I cook and look at food. My favorite thing is that I control the temp like my oven and take anything I cook in the oven outside. Which results in even more flavor from the wood fired goodness. I live in Wyoming and I am continually impressed with it's consistency despite the freezing temperatures. I do notice that if I keep the fire pot cleaned out everything runs smoothly. I love my Traeger and how it keeps my kitchen clean!

There is nothing I dislike about this grill. It is easy to assemble and built very heavy and strong. This thing is built to last. The procedures to get it up and running were pretty straight forward and by the next day, Saturday, I was grilling tri tip and baby backs. The unit has two food probes that can be monitored from the control panel and one internal probe that gives you constant readings of internal temperature. It is easy to use and clean up is really easy. One of my best purchases of all time....
