Product came packaged very well,so well it seemed as if there was an Intel processor, item came enclosed in a medium foam enclosure, then boxed, easy to read instructions. Wired up this unit and my Ring Pro and Digital Chime were up and running with in minutes. Puts out enough voltage amps to satisfy both. At first i had gone down the home improvement store route, they lasted about a minute and started smoking, then tried two other plug in transformers, not good either. Until i came across this Gem. Quality construction, does what they say,and take pride in shipping.

First let me say I bought this because my Ring Video Doorbell Pro video would freeze if someone rang the doorbell and I installed the voltage thingy that came with it and also disconnected the wires to the actual mechanical doorbell to save voltage for the video part of the system after noticing the poor performance and freezing video clips. I was initially disappointed. This is why. My old doorbell transformer had an output of 18.5 volts.. I installed this transformer and noted the voltage output was only 17.9.. thinking that this would be no better and maybe even worse than the last transformer. I was pleasantly surprised to find this actually worked to solve my freezing video problems!! Yay!! I have had my RVD Pro for a year now and it never really worked to its full potential until now. It always notified us of movements out front but always froze when the button was pushed. Now it's perfect. Installation time will vary for you and you should have some amount of electrical training. You should a multi-meter to measure your voltage to ensure you turn the correct breaker off and also measure the output if you are curious. You will also need a screwdriver to tighten the connections. I recommend marking the wires with a little tape and/or taking a pic of the original setup.. Also not sure if it matters +/- so I would measure the output to match the polarity (that may be dumb but I did it anyway). It took me about a 45 minutes because I broke a little wire (and didn't see the break) and had to figure out what the problem was. Great Purchase!!

Bought this because my Ring doorbell pro wasn't working. I installed it myself. It was very simple. The doorbell connected and has worked flawlessly.

After installing the Ring doorbell my inside chime would no longer work. Installing this larger transformer the chime now works. I'm a DIY guy so installing this was quite simple. Most transformers are in the attic and connected to a power source. You have to flip the breaker before installing so if you can find the right breaker you shouldn't have any problem installing this upgraded transformer.

My old transformer wouldn't power the doorbell and nest camera. This one powers both and works great. Took around 20 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one.

Needed a new transformer to power a Ring doorbell. After reading many positive reviews, decided to order this particular transformer. Tested voltage with multimeter; output voltage was slightly greater than 16VAC (as shown). Works as expected.

When I installed the RIng DoorBell Pro at my daughter's house I also replaced the house door mechanical chime with one (another mechanical one) on the Ring Compatibility list (many of which have different brand names but are made by Heath-Zenith and are low cost). The chime only cost me like $20 at Lowes. The old chime, even before the Ring Doorbell Pro barely rang. The old transformer was 16v 15 amp. The new chime rang fine and the Health of the Doorbell was fine. However I wanted a better transformer to avoid issues. This new one is 16V 30 amp. I bought another one for my house to replace a little 10 A one. The old one used the metal box as the ground, this new one has a plastic nut to attach it and a separate ground wire. So I used a short green grounding wire from Home Depot (Lowes sells ones that have a poorly designed screw that does not cut into box hole) to screw it into a hole in the box, cut off the other end and stripped it and connected it to the green ground wire on the transformer. The new House Door bell chime much louder with this transformer and seemed to happen faster. The chime itself requires a 10 amp transformer, so I have plenty for the RIng Doorbell Pro and the Chime. The transformer was super well packed and looks like a quality product. I also like the way the transformer has a cover over the transformer plates shielding it. The price was great too! It is UL approved and well documented. It has a internal thermal fuse (115 degrees)on the low voltage end. At night and when someone rings the bell more power is needed and this transformer is just the thing you want to avoid issues. Be aware, the electrical box where you old transformer is could have more than one live circuit running in it, so shutting off the power to the doorbell may leave a hot line inside yet. So know what you are doing. One tip is that you should cut the insulation to about 3/4-1" on the three transformer wires BEFORE you install it to provide enough room to wrap it around the wires and not totally depend on the plastic wire nuts to hold it. And remember you are talking about 120 V circuit here, so know what you are doing and shut off all breakers for all lines in the box and test there is no power inside before starting. FYI I have a circuit breaker box tracer and wireless power tester to aid me. If you don't know what you are doing get someone who does.

This transformer was perfect for what I needed and easy to install. Live in an older house and ring doorbell would not ring. This fixed it in a snap!

Exactly what I needed, easy to install and now my Ring Pro is running at proper power. Much cheaper than buying essentially the same product directly from Ring.

Was easy to install and exactly like the old unit we had to upgrade for the Ring doorbell install. It was wired perfectly to easily replace the under powered unit we already had so this was perfect to make our new security system work properly. To anyone buying a video door bell save the time and buy this with the doorbell so you dont have to wait to get it later. It powers your existing doorbell to accommodate video security systems and standard builder grade doorbell units arent strong enough. Dont make my mistake and cause a delay in installing video doorbell because I didnt order this at same time. Heavy duty product that I didnt need an electrician to install.
