Good zoom and pictures. Sharp views of license plates. I have 2 one for day and one for night. The night camera has to be turned down, brightness and gain and speed up the shutter speed. This helps with the fright plate reflection and tail lights.

I really like the option to be able to FTP the mp4 video files to my computer and the windows app that allows you to manage the cameras. I also own some HiKam cameras and I have had nothing but issues with them and the windows app that the HiKam cameras use. There customer support personnel are very responsive to any issues. I had recently bought a new camera model that was different from my other models that created year/month/day folders for the FTP files which my older ones did not do. There support engineers within a couple of days sent me a new firmware download that got rid of the file folders that I did not want.

While I loved my RLC-411, I have to say the RLC-511 is much better, with a much clearer picture, and the zoom has improved. I also like the change in design, going from the round "bullet" look to the square look and feel. To me, in just looks much better to the eye. Overall, I am impressed, and love the quality. NOTE: This was a replacement for a separate RLC-411 that was purchased here in Amazon, but is now discontinued. The item died after about 18 months, and Reolink has been great about the service, and after some general troubleshooting, they replaced without question. I have many other cameras from them, and would not buy any other brand at this point.

Installed 2 of these Reolink RLC-511 PoE cameras and I'm very happy with the image quality and software features. Installed a 32GB micro SD card in each and that sufficed for image capture initially. But the constant motion alerts became an issue even after setting up motion zones and reducing sensitivity: leave them on and be frequently interrupted (often for nothing but a leaf or moth fluttering by), turn them off and possibly miss something. I also discovered constantly running the Reolink app on my smart phone is a battery hog. So I mated the cameras to my Synology NAS running their Surveillance Station NVR. Now I record 24/7 to my 6TB NAS disks (currently with a 100GB cap) so don't miss anything and can watch recorded content by timeline.

The camera is built well and has good clarity but the IR lights reflect off of trees or branches resulting in a lot of motion detection records. I don't think that is a fault of the product but simply the facts of the technology.

Will buy again and highly recommended. The Good: Excellent video day and night Expandable storage Works in very low temperatures Easy to use web UI Power over Ethernet The Bad: Motion sensing is not super configurable Video playback requires Adobe Flash No way to record continuously to the SD card This is a full featured camera. HD quality with a built-in server to view current and historical video. Plenty of options to customize. configurable motion detection, and expansion storage. I have this pointing outside at my driveway. The daytime picture is clear color. There's a little chop when a car rolls by but I'm not sure if that's from the network or the camera. Night picture is black and white. I disabled IR since the area it is viewing is pretty bright anyway. I use a web browser, Chrome or Edge to view the video. It does require Adobe Flash, unfortunately. The UI is easy to use and navigate. Setting up motion detection is straight forward. Set the schedule, create a mask of the active area and done. If you have an SD card, it will save triggered video to it. There is no option to stream continuous video to the SD card. You can view the saved video on the camera or save it to a storage device off the device. I am saving video to my NAS. There's no easy way to get video off the camera SD card. The motion detection works well, but if its pointing at the street like mine is, headlights will trigger it. I tried adjusting sensitivity but no luck. I did use this with Blue Iris and it worked well. Blue Iris is far more configurable and does motion sensing as well.

This IP camera has optical zoom, which allowed me to zoom in on the mailbox area and leave it that way. I then setup motion detection around the mailbox area (its almost 100ft away from the camera) and have it send me a photo when the mailman delivers. The CGI snapshot resolution is full camera resolution which allows me to use a Raspberry PI to process the images and create a time-lapse video of the activity around the mailbox during the day. The optical zoom allows for crisp images at full resolution that allow identification of cars and people. This is my 3rd Reolink (but the first optical zoom one from them) and I highly recommend them, my oldest is a RLC-410 that has been in continous operation for 3 years without fail. Big features on this one: (1) optical zoom (2) 5MP (3) Browser snapshot at full camera resolution and quality. (RPI can grab images off it to process also) (4) FTP and email push

Really nice camera. Works great. Must use with Reolink NVR. It was an add on to my system. Good night vision

Great picture too early to comment on reliability. Police are already using to video to track down kids stealing from cars at night in our subdivision. First footage provided that’s clear enough to see the face in the hoodies

It worked attached to the Reolink NVR or to a Mac computer via POE.
