Found a hundred year old buffalo nickel in my own back yard first time out using and learning

Arrived today , within an hour I scored a 1930s calvin coolidge token in my back yard . Easy assembly Simple to use . Thanks garrett 😉

I'm new to MD but chose the AT Max based on reviews and comps. Didn't want a toy. There are plenty of YouTube AT Max instruction videos that got me up and running successfully on my first hunt. Still a lot to learn but if you are serious about doing anything, do it right! AT Max!

First, what I like about the AT Max. I like that it has a back lit screen. I like the wireless headphones and pin pointer, they are particularly helpful for the hearing impaired like myself. I like that the screen has an indicator to help center on your find. I like that it uses AA size batteries and that they last a respectable amount of time. I especially like the the "iron audio" button which does a great job of keeping one from digging up steel junk. I like that it has a volume control on both the headphones and the unit itself. I like that it is waterproof to 10 feet, though I will not be using something this expensive under water (the coil, maybe but not the controller.) While I am relatively new to met/det'g with this being my 3rd one, I will say I like the AT Max a lot. And would recommend it to anyone that has the money to buy one. Now, the other stuff. These are not complaints as much as they are recommendations to Garrett. For whatever reason when pin pointing, I find the depth indicator seems to work for a second or two on pressing the "pinpoint" button and then freezes on 2". I don't know if this is normal or if mine has a problem (everything else seems to be OK.) One other thing is if you are using it in the shade and facing the sun, the pin pointer indicator scale is difficult to see, it seems to be covered by the overlay on the screen. Turning your back to the sun takes care of this problem. If this unit turns out to be trouble free for years, I will consider the money well spent, durability is a key value to me. As to if the unit will do the job of metal detecting, I assure you it will. It will find tiny stuff deep. It is seldom wrong if it detects copper or silver. A gold ring and an aluminum drink tab registers almost alike and so far are difficult for me to tell apart. Perhaps, with more time and experience I will learn enough to tell the difference. So, overall, I give this metal detector very, very good rating.

I have to say this is one of those accurate metal detectors of them all. Definently recommend buying. My favorite is the pinpointed function and God dang it's accurate

This was actually my 2nd AT MAX purchase. I got the 1st one 8 months ago, but wanted a 2nd so my husband & I can both hunt at the same time. I can tell you that this is a FANTASTIC piece of equipment. And it is TOUGH. I have used and abused it for 8 months now and it still performs like new. I toss it in the back of my SUV or husbands truck several times a week; never use the nice coil cover that comes with it; toss it on the ground; scrape the ground with it nonstop; had it in the rough Atlantic Ocean; had it in rivers/creeks with rock beds; I’ll stop by just saying I haven’t been too careful with it, and it hasn’t hurt it one single bit. I did hours and hours of research on which detector to get. Because of its toughness and all terrain abilities/versatility, you can’t go wrong with this baby. Just get it, you’ll be happy!

The AT max seems to run as little hotter than the AT Pro. I usually have to turn the sensitivity down 3 notches to get rid of the chatter. It slso ferls just s little heavier than the Pro. In all-metal mode with a concentric coil, this thing can go DEEP.

I love the wireless features. And the AT Max finds even more than my AT Pro
