25 degrees lower average compared to stock fan
This thing is huge, a little more complicated to put on than a stock fan, but the benefits are even bigger. Pros: - CPU temperature went 25 degrees lower average. System is ridiculously cold as well because of the air flow (see next pro). - Air flow is way easier to design with with a stand-up fan blowing from front to back - Optional second 120mm fan can be mounted with provided attachment - Cheap - Versatile, can be used for many chipsets, so if you ever make a new build you will most likely be able to use it again (see product description) Not really cons, but to keep in mind: - No preset thermal paste (tube included) - If your RAM has extra metal on top (heatsink), it might be tight/hard to fit/not fit (easy-breezy with low-profile Ballistix) - If it's an upgrade, you will have to remove your motherboard as there is a part to attach at the bottom. - Assembly requires some attention. The provided instructions have no words, just drawings, which can be confusing. Also, they mixed multiple chipset AMD/INTEL setup instructions so pay attention to the top left corner of each drawing. I recommend looking for a video instruction on YouTube with your chipset. The instructions weren't exactly in the same order as the paper's and felt more logical to me. Worked perfectly,

Great performance and looks
I replaced the stock intel cooler on my 4790k with this when I learned that I was sitting at 60C idle and had thermal throttling under load (AIDA64 stress test was quickly approaching 100C before I shut it down). This new cooler keeps me idle at about 30C, and even under full load (again using AIDA64) it is hovering around 60-65C. Very satisfied with the performance. I have previously installed an older model hyper 212 on another computer, and like there, the installation was pretty easy. The cooler looks much nicer than the older metal color model, and the RGB just adds to it. Honestly couldn't be much happier about it. Highly recommend.

Excellent Low-Cost Option for Overclocked 8700K
I needed a cheap heat sink for temporary use while my Tt Floe Riing 360mm AIO was being replaced under warranty due to a leaking pump. I have to admit that this is way better than I expected it to be. My CPU temps at 5.0GHz in Cinebench are roughly the same as they were at 5.2GHz in Cinebench using water cooling. I added a second fan for push/pull. The temps are good enough that I don't have to be bored or impatient running stock clocks or a mickey mouse overclock while wait for the RMA. If you are on a tight budget and cannot afford liquid cooling, I highly recommend this cooler.

Spacer addition makes installation MUCH easier. See attached photos.
Subsequent to addition of a spacer, this cooler installation is much, much, much easier, and it is unlike the painful experience that I outlined below. The reason this works is that the distance that the hex bolt needs to span is much less. Cooler Master could make the process even easier by modifying their drawing labeling the bolt and the actual spacer, that features a hole in its bottom. Please see the "E and D" drawings attached, the one on the left with no black fill in the hole, the right drawing with fill in the hole. Cooler Master: Please make this change!!! Old review:I have installed this CPU cooler on several computers, all LGA 1150. On the current installation, the backplate installation was uneventful. Attachment of the frontal screws/receptacles was uneventful. However, placement of the X-frame and its attachment to the frontal receptacles was impeded by the fact that, even with flat seating of the X-frame into the CPU heat plate ridge (with all its oddities), the attachment screws were several millimeters short of the frontal receptacles. Attachment required that the X-frame be stressed to the point of bending to make the connection. This required so much force that my hands were hurt. The simplest explanation for this (and no, I did not neglect proper seating of the X-frame with its knob and U-cutout) is that the connecting screws were just too short by 5-8 mm or so. If for some weird reason I were to install this heat sink again, I would probably start at a hardware store trying to find longer frontal attachment screws. I am very sorry to write this, since this CPU cooler is otherwise a splendid device and very well priced.

Much better version of the 212 Plus!
This thing is capable of cooling an i7-9700k while doing it quietly. The highest I've seen my temps go has been while playing around with a 4.5ghz overclock, which went into the low 70's after a few minutes of prime. I may have been able to lower my voltages a little bit. I like running this processor at stock for now, surprisingly, and this thing never goes past 60 degrees. The top of the base section does have a bit more heatsink fins on the top compared to the 212 plus, which may or may not contribute to that. Not too bad! Looks nice in my case, too. I like how they changed the mounting system for this compared to the hyper 212 plus. Being able to easily line this up while screwing it down evenly is so much better since you don't have to keep the mounting bracket from falling off the little peg in the middle of the plate. I really hated installing that cooler, and I was pleased to see that this one was much easier to install. The fan is very quiet, being a silencio fan, and it hardly makes any noise under load. I can barely hear it in a Fractal Define Mini C. At idle, you can't even tell that it's on. Very happy with that!

Worth more than its price. New installers BE CAREFUL.
First: i5-8400 cpu, z370-f motherboard, 2x8gb ddr4 2133hz in dual channel, gtx 1070 in a NZXT s340 elite mid-tower case. First I had a corsair h100i v2. Idled at low 20's and under 100% cpu load would reach mid to high 40's. I donated setup when I stopped gaming for a bit, and when I wanted to rebuild I went cheap with a CM MasterAir g100m. Pretty, decently idled at high 30's and under 100% load would go to low to high 70's celsius. Wanted to upgrade the viper patriot stick to a 2nd stick and realized the g100m blocked a dual channel setup (40mm height sticks with 35mm clearance from g100m). Wanted that dual channel option so upgraded the cooler to this. Replaced initial stock fan (used it for chassis rear exhaust) with 2 corsair ml120's making the total of this cpu cooler 59.99. Idles at mid 20's and under 100% cpu load for about 3 minutes the highest its max was 51 celsius but averaging 47-48. Basically $130 for a 9% increase in cooling vs a $60 setup for 9% less cooling. This is a no-brainer worth the money spent. Install was simple enough, just one tip: HAND TIGHTEN REAR BRACKET LUGS. DO NOT use the provided socket with phillips head grooves to tighten, you WILL damage your motherboard. I've done enough mechanical work to have been knowingly prepared, but if it was my first computer build or light equipment build, I'd have cracked my mobo. So please be careful when installing, does not have support like other brackets, this one tightens on the board itself.

Affordable/excellent aftermarket cooler for Ryzen 5 3600
Bought this when it was on sale for $21 and it appears to be an excellent and quiet cooler. The cooler is compatible with both MSI B450 Tomahawk Max and Asus ROG Strix B450-F motherboards although if you use the first DDR4 dimm slot, you'll need to install the RAM first before mounting the fan on the heatsink. Also of note, this cooler barely cleared my age-old Antec 300 mid-tower chassis in case anyone was wondering. I've ran a few CPU stress test with the cooler and with ambient room temperature of 23C, it's been able to keep the CPU at under 66C. This is with the CPU pushed to 100% load in all 12 threads in AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU at stock speed.

Much better temps with the Ryzen 5 2600 compared to the stock cooler (Wraith Stealth)
Replaced my stock cooler that came with my Ryzen 5 2600 (Wraith Stealth) due to high temps. With the Stealth I was averaging about 40-45 celcius at idle and up to about 80-85 celcius under load (when rendering video or doing video file conversion after only about 2 minutes). Now with this new CM Hyper 212 I'm sitting at 29 celcius at idle and it maxed out at 56 celcius while performing the same video render that generated the 80 degree temps on the Stealth. I've also noticed that it seems quieter than the stealth and spins at lower RPMs under load (about 1600 compared to the Stealth running at about 2300 under load). Plus it looks pretty good- I like the black.

Improved mounting system makes this a welcome update to a classic air cooler
This replaced an original version Hyper 212 EVO that was several years old with a fan that was whining. I was never all that taken with the original version's mounting hardware. It was finicky, somewhat difficult to get everything correctly aligned, and too easy to make a mistake. I always walked away after installation wondering if I got it right. The new mounting system on the V2 is FAR easier, takes less time, and is almost foolproof. Cooler Master also angled the heatpipes relative to the base. You have to be aware of this when mounting the heatsink, but when correctly installed, this provides additional clearance for your DIMMs. One aspect I found puzzling was looseness in the backplate even after bottoming out the mounting studs on the front side of the motherboard. I double-checked my mounting procedure, and I had done everything correctly. This looseness turned out not to be a problem however; spring pressure from the heatsink mounting screws draws the whole assembly nice and tight after you mount the cooler and tighten down the screws. I wish that the instructions (the product's weakest aspect) had mentioned this, however. The SickleFlow 120 fan is easy to mount and blessedly quiet, and my Core i3-8100 CPU temps are even lower now than with the earlier version. With my chosen quiet fan profile on a Z370 motherboard, Idle temps are around 30C. Stressing with Prime95 tops out at around 55C. I consider this outstanding performance, considering that I like to use a relaxed fan profile. In short, the V2 version of the Hyper 212 EVO is a welcome update to a classic air cooler, and I recommend it highly.

Great for i5-4690k
Been using these in builds for years...first time buying off Amazon, so I'll leave a review. Price: 5/5 You literally cannot beat the $25-30 value of this cooler. It's fantastic. You can add another fan to the back, too, if you want it even cooler down the line. Install: 4/5 WAY, way easier after you've done it 7 or 8 times...but generally it feels easier on the 1150 socket than AM3+? Not sure why. But make sure you don't remove the green fuzzy stuff on the back plate, as this prevents metal to metal contact, which could short your board. But yeah once you know what you're doing, easy and simple. Just a pita the first few times...oh, and odds are, as with most of the times I've used it, it will cover up a ram slot. One out of the four, usually. Performance (cooling): 5/5 My latest rig is using a Z97 Krait MSI mobo, NZXT H440, and i5-4690k. Stock 3.5ghz, ambient: 26c Stock 3.5ghz, Prime95: 50c OC'd 4.0ghz, ambient: 33c OC'd 4.0ghz, Prime95: 52c In game, Warhammer Total War / ArcheAge: 50-52c with multiple clients and games at once. With stock cooler: Everything in the high 60s and nearing 80s.... Essentially, in Texas, this bad boy made me go from usually 72-76c in games to 52c. Awesome.
