We bought this bag for a trip that is a 5 hour drive each way and it did great except for the awful noise from the straps. Like all the other reviews state, there are no instructions. It’s pretty easy to put up if you have a roof rack though. But what we learned is that it’s more suitable for a roof rack with cross bars. There are back and front straps on the bag that are attached specifically to go in the back and front onto cross bars. Our SUV does not have those so we attached them off to the side bars instead. That was what made the noise problem. It was a horrible humming noise due to the straps catching the wind the right way when you go over 40 mph. It was awful. So we decided to keep the front straps off for the ride back and it fixed the problem. The bag did not budge one bit. The mat it comes with helps a lot too. The bag held up great for the drive. On our way home we were in hours of torrential downpours and one suitcase had a couple of spots of water on it but nothing seeped through the luggage and we had it packed full. So overall it is a great bag and it does the job it is supposed to do. But be aware of the issue with the front straps if you don’t have crossbars. * ** Adding a revision after original review...the company emailed me asking what they could do to make us happier after seeing the problem with the noise. I told them I would recommend instructions with the bag and maybe add to the description that it works best with crossbars. They responded that they will add instructions. They also offered compensation, which I did not take, because we are very happy with the quality of the bag. Very nice and responsive business to work with

High-quality heavy durable material. Easily assembled and attached to SUV roof, came with pad for a bottom to stop sliding. Really nice product very functional. Kept things dry in the rain.

It's amazing. Used it for a 14 hour car ride. And yes it rained. It held up great until we hit massive rain. But only the things in the front of the bag were slightly damp. But nothing was damaged!! Would I buy it another?!?! Absolutley!!

We drove with it 24 hours through mostly heat & sun, only some drizzling. Speeds were up to 80mph but mainly 55-75. It held up great and the pad protected the panoramic sunroof. We took it down at hotels at night, very easy to take down and put back up. The straps are long and flap against the car, you can tie them in knots or close them in the car doors to keep them still. Definitely worth the price, will use again for sure. There are no tears, split seams or weak straps. I didn’t get rained on too hard but everything was dry from light rain.

This carrier bag worked great for my families move across the country. The attached pictures are from the end of the trip and it still looks brand new. Just to give an idea of the beating this bag can take we drove almost 3,000 miles from Idaho to Florida. There were several instances along our trip of high winds and heavy downpours and everything inside the bag stayed safe and dry. I checked the straps every time I stopped to fill up with gas and it never budged from my roof rack. I only used the side rails of my rack to attach it since my cross rails were too far apart to attach to those and it did not slide forwards or backwards at all. I did have about 100lbs worth of stuff in the bag so that may vary if you haul light stuff in it. I did not noticed too much of a change in my gas mileage averaging about 75-85mph on the freeway, but my suv also has a slope to my roof rack so that may have helped with wind resistance. There are not really any security features on this bag as we planned to leave it on the car when we stopped for sleep, but the zipper holes are big enough to fit a standard TSA luggage lock and it worked great. If someone really wanted to get into it I'm sure a knife would be able to slice it open. I definitely recommend this carrier if you plan on taking any short or long trips, it is the most cost effective and worked like a charm for our needs.

This product was so easy to install and held a lot of boxes. We packaged it up with Christmas gifts for a long drive and everything stayed perfectly. On the way back, we had an issue with a little bit of water getting in...could have been a zipper not completely closed on our end or the fact that we left the bag filled on the roof for 3 days and it had rained and snowed, but next time, I'd just triple check the zippers as the bag seems to be heavy duty. We did have an issue with a buckle, contacted the company and they rectified it right away. Excellent customer service!

My only problem was the straps werent quite long enough to use as directed on my Nissan rogue that doesnt have a roof rack. We ended up fastening the straps around the frame that is between the front and rear doors but it caused wind noise inside the car. It doesnt deter me enough not to use it again, though! Very sturdy, no other issues whatsoever.

GREAT PRODUCT! The quality of the bag is phenomenal, I drove 2,048 miles with it on top of a Ford Explorer. The speed average was about 80 miles/hr, top speed of 105 miles/hr, winds frontal and lateral, raining for like 6 hrs, snow for about 2 hrs, fog 1 hr, no problems at all, Except for the noise of the wind but that was expected. The explorer doesn't have the best noise reduction system. I added the FORD OEM cross bars, very nice quality and like $300 dollars cheaper than other brands. Things to improve: Add the options to buy made to fit luggage, it will make the packing easier. Add a couple of thick bands to thigh it to the bars. The pad is very good to keep the bag in place. Bigger zippers will help to close the bag when full.

My Ohana was traveling to Virginia from California. MILITARY transfer, pickup there Van loaded all their stuff that we can load on the storage bag. We secured the tie down, and top it with a cargo netting to prevent the bag from moving around during his long drive ahead. They made to their destination safely and was able to leave the bags on the Van during their stops and layovers. He's was worried about the weather conditions. So we planned for the worst. He's happy to say that everything was in tact and the weather didn't effect their drive. Happy camper.
