Great for storing data, or sharing files
I've switched to saving my data on hard drives a few years ago, but I still save some important data in a data disc, and these DVD discs are great for it. I like to use data disc to share data that I prefer not to upload online, or send via email. These comes in a custom made cardboard box that protected them during transit, and so far, the ones I've burned had done so perfectly. I've read about how DVD lost data after ten years, but I own data discs older than that, and I can still access the content stored in them. Because of this experience, it's that I'm still using this method of storage files.

Perfectly fine DVD-R discs
Before buying these, make sure that your disc writer supports DVD-R. Confusingly, there is also DVD+R, a different "standard". Years ago, writers tended to support one or the other, but newer drives, such as the BD writer I have, support both. There's really not a lot to say about these discs. They write fine at a 16X speed and I had no problem with the two I burned, one with some files and one as a bootable disc.

It seems you can never have enough DVD's!
These are a great item. Good quality, easy to store, and the size of the 50 Pack Spindle is perfect. Reasonably priced and are the right size to store or create the right items for your computing needs. Have used DVDs for years and these are just as good as it gets. Always be careful when you order them so that you will get the right configuration for read and write or just read. They have to conform to you computers DVD drive!

DVD is still the most stable form of backup, I think
I'm a writer and a photographer and for all the types of backup that I use, ranging from thumb drives to the cloud to DVD, I still feel safest when I know I have important images or text on a dvd. I like having something I can lay my hands on and know it's there. Of course, with thousands of DVDs taking up space in my office, I also appreciate the cloud, lol. I do hate that they took dvd drives out of most computers. These AmazonBasics are great and I'm glad to have a stack of blanks sitting here next to my computer--even though I have to use an external recorder since my Mac no longer has a built-in drive!

No problems
These DVDs are what I needed. I still make use of these instead of wasting money on USB thumb drives. Haven't had any issues while burning files to these so far. Tested a couple and then used about six of them for transferring some CAD files to a client - they reported that they had no problems accessing the files. I'm happy with the product.

Zero fail rate
This particular type of dvd uses wobble frequency to determine laser position. These are compatible with a specific series of media manufacturers, although many now are using a hybrid format to accommodate both types of dvds. I have in the past used the major manufacturer's dvds, but these by Amazon are superior in that they have a zero fail rate. They are also rated at 16x for write speed, and they meet this claim. I prefer these AmazonBasics to any other brand I have tried.

No Complaints Here
Re-Writeable DVDs are a pretty basic home and office staple these days. There really is not much to distinguish one brand from another anymore. I've burned a few of these since they arrived and they seem to work just fine. This is one of those products where it either works or it doesn't. Fortunately, this one does. It's also nice not having to make a trip across town to Staples, where I'd pay probably twice as much for the same item.

Choose wisely between DVD-R, DVD+R, or rewritable versions. Check your hardware specs.
This is a well made DVD storage spindle holding 50 blank DVD-R discs for a recordable 4.7GB DVD. Note there are two versions of recordable DVDs, this one as well as DVD+R. Both versions also come in rewritable formats. The +R variety is better from a number of perspectives, so if your drive will accommodate both, go with the +R discs. Earlier DVD recorders will often accept either one or the other, while newer DVD recorders will almost always accept both. I've had no difficulty with discs from this spindle in a Panasonic DMR-ES25 DVD recorder.

Good quality DVDs
How to review some DVD-R discs? At the time of this review, there is yet no Amazon product page, so I don't know the going price yet. I do know that Amazon Basics has never failed to impress me with its quality merchandise. So, these are the ones that you can write on once, not the rewritable kinds (that would be DVD + R), but you can watch the DVD randomly as much as you want. The DVD-R is not a minus sign, but a dash (people tend to think it means minus as a contrast to the +). Also know that, unlike the DVD ROM discs, these aren't "pressed" during manufacturing, but rather use a dye to store the data. I'm not sure how all that tech stuff actually works, but I do understand that a DVD-R has a higher failure-to-read than the DVD ROM discs, so it is important to know that when you buy these. Some people blame it on a bad batch if their players don't read the discs; however, it is actually because these aren't as successful as the ROM ones. But, It has broader playback compatibility than the “+” especially with much older players, so that is a good thing. So, that's my knowledge, essentially, of DVD discs, other than a few other details that you can always research in order to ensure that you are buying the right discs for the "write" purpose. So far, I've had no problems with these discs, when burning home movies or any other type of video. It will take a long time to use this up. Amazon has always had good customer service for me, so I trust that if these were defective, Amazon would replace or refund these without a problem. These seem to be perfect for my uses.
