This is a great USB-C adapter for the price, it has "all" you need and works perfectly. Before buying it you should notice that you can't charge your device through this adapter (it doesn't not have a USB-C input). I received a mail from Anker mentioning that It does not work for the new iPad Pro, but it does work for me, At least I was able to plug my external screen and mirror the image through the HDMI output.

My mid-2017 MacBook Pro is great -- except that it seems as if everything needs an adapter. This does almost everything I need (other than talk to Thunderbolt 2 devices): I can connect to a monitor or projector via hdmi, view pics from an SD card to Photos, move music from iTunes to a micro-SD card, and use a backup hard drive and flash drive simultaneously. The included pouch means that I don't have to worry about the hub scratching the computer or losing one of many adapter cables since I don't need any. This is the third or fourth Anker adapter we've purchased and all of them have been well-made and extremely useful. This year, our company will just order one for each Mac we buy rather than do it after-the-fact.

Now, this isn't a laptop or mesh network or anything too complicated... but a reason Anker's slight premium over similar products here is well-worth it imo, is attention to detail -- both to function and aesthetics of the device. Have a handful of Anker stuff, from boost packs to BT earbuds to chargers and cables... and still use them, years later. That's not something you can expect typically from a no-name manufacturer. Having given the benefit of doubt (and lots of cash) to no-names that didn't deserve it... Anker is one that just kept making good solid kit, consistently. This hub gets a tiny bit warm, like a bit over body temp -- nothing like my no-name USB-C-to-MagSafe charger adapter, which gets almost too hot to grasp. These kinds of makers build their tech to that too-common standard that attracts buyers with low prices: nickel-and-dimed into barely-functioning timebombs. Anker's other products IME seem to avoid this temptation and charge a bit more for decent engineering -- which is preferable, of course. The hub feels solid, nice to handle, with details like the MicroSD card reader slot having a nice defined 'click' on insertion, and USB male connector fitting perfectly into my Mac's 4 stock ports. The cable feels substantial, with some spring in it but also a bit of give into a shape, so feels like it'll survive daily tucking and straightening for a long time. I can't even get this in Apple tech nowadays. :/ A bonus, is accessories that come in the Anker box. Nothing extravagant... but for example this hub comes with a nice faux-suede pouch with a little extra sewn pocket on the outside to tuck and protect the cable & connector. If you stuffed the cable into the main pouch with the unit, the connector could scratch it. Very simple gesture, but a thoughtful design that people will actually use. I now forgo the price bloat of name brands for Anker whenever I can, as decontenting seems to the rule when a big manufacturer gets lazy and wants to sit on their laurels. As long as Anker continues to make their products like this hub, I'll keep buying.

I just wanted to add a review with details of running at 3440 x 1440, since I didn't see that. Some of these USB C hubs will hit 60hz refresh at 3440 x 1440 but unfortunately not this hub. Otherwise, a really well made hub.

There’re millions of USB hubs out there in the market, it’s really hard to find the right one that suits my style. Until recently I decided to give it a shot about Anker 5-in-1 USB-C Hub, it totally exceeded my expectations and blew other similar products out of the water. Not only the product has very elegant design, but also has everything that you should look for in terms of durability, transportability, and necessity. Not to mention it also comes with a protective travel pouch that prevents any damage and dust, it’s totally bang for the buck!!!! As a college student who uses a Macbook on daily basis, this product is very essential and useful when it comes to projects and homework assignments. As it comes with 2 USB-A Ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 SD card port and 1 MicroSD card port, the all-in-one adapter definitely can fulfill everything you desire. You won’t have any issues with this USB-C! It’s really small and easy to transport with your pocket or even a laptop case. It’s small enough that it doesn’t even give you eye sore when using your laptop. The space grey color is also a perfect fit for someone who owns a Macbook! I’m sure you won’t regret buying it. And I would definitely recommend this to everyone who needs a solid and premium USB-C hub.

This is why I love Anker products. They always produce high quality gadgets that just work. I installed the Anker USB C Hub, 5-in-1 USB C Adapter and plugged in my HDMI cable and Boom!!! Video display on 2nd monitor was working. The USB C Dock from Lenovo cost $150 more and does the same thing, and does not include a SD/TF Card Reader. Well done Anker. I'm a Fan Boy for Anker but that's because I buy their products.

I recently bought a new laptop that had limited ports. As all the new laptops on the market, you get a powerful device with a sleek design which unfortunately compromises space for ports. The trend is usually having a single USB-C and if you’re lucky, you’ll get another USB-C and USB A. Then you’re stuck with buying a bunch of hubs or dongles for your desired connection whether it’s a HDMI or SD card reader...etc I know some people would argue this saying that all the tech companies are pushing towards wireless connection and cloud usage rendering ports useless. However, I disagree with that claim because not everywhere has adopted a fully wireless/bluetooth system making ports still valuable. If you’re like me, you would appreciate having a single hub with all the ports that are necessary for your usage. Luckily Anker had the perfect solution for me. They recently released a line of USB-C variety hubs with different ports depending on your need. I got the Premium 5-in-1 USB-C Hub. The Premium 5-in-1 USB-C Hub consists of 2 USB-A 3.0 ports on one side and one 4K HDMI port, regular SD and micro SD card readers on the other side. The USB-C cord provides flexibility but in the same time you can feel the high quality. The USB-C connector is sleek providing space if you need to connect to a nearby port in your laptop. When it’s connected to the laptop, there’s a circle that lights up indicating the power connectively to the hub. What I appreciate about any tech company, is providing to its customers with a travel case to help protect and maintain their product. Anker provides a travel pouch included in the packaging. This product has been ideal for my requirements. I need a HDMI connecter because I connect my laptop to different displays whether it’s a monitor, tv or projector for presentations. The two USB-A 3.0 ports allow me to simultaneously copy data at a high speed and to my surprise, the hub doesn’t heat up when copying large data. Unlike other hubs, which tend to heat up. In addition, if you have an iPad, you’d probably have noticed that it won’t charge when it’s connected to your laptop through a regular USB-A 3.0 port or it would take forever. Thanks to the USB-C, when I connected iPad to the USB-A port in the hub, it charged the iPad as quick as connecting it to a DC connector and the hub still maintained its coolness. Moreover, being a photographer makes SD/microSD card readers essential. I highly recommend this top notch product by Anker. The Premium 5-in-1 USB-C Hub provides me with all the ports that are essential for my work in one hub. Also, I recommend you check the other USB-C hubs by Anker that best suits your need: - 3-in-1 Premium USB C Hub with Power Delivery - Premium 4-in-1 USB C Hub Adapter - USB C Hub, Premium 5-in-1 Type C Adapter with SD/TF Card Reader - 5-in-1 Premium USB C Adapter with Ethernet Port - 7-in-1 Premium USB C Hub Adapter

I was reluctant to adopt USB C a couple of years ago when apple first introduced it into the macbooks. I broke down last year because I use many peripherals (mechanical keyboard, multiple external monitors, usb mouse, external hard drives etc) and switch computers and locations often. I bought several other hubs looking for a deal but they had similar problems--unable to push good resolution through monitors, unable to power each usb hub, and/or lag/poor performance of keyboard and mouse. I heard anker was a good name so I broke down after several failed hubs. The anker hub worked flawlessly immediately on both a dell XPS 15 and a MacBook pro. It pushes high resolution to monitors (actual res depends on the specs of your monitors) at 60hz. The only thing I wish was easier to get at the time was three usb 3.0 ports instead of the sd reader, but that is no fault of anker as i'm sure many people need that reader. I had one small issue and customer service handled it immediately. I would highly reccomend this as a productivity tool that is better quality than other brands with similar offerings.

I have the apple’s hub for a while and I am pretty fed up with it honestly. My hobby is photo and video so I have lots of device and gadgets to transfer data to my computer. I gotta say, I don’t usually do reviews but if I do that means the product must be KICK ASS. This Anker usb-C is the ultimate solution for me. It is, hands down, one of the best purchase I made this year. The package feels suuuuuuper professional like you would expect it from an Apple store. The design, the feels, and not to mentioned, I did not expect that it also comes with a pouch bag. Amazing! The hub feels premium quality and solid build. I’m sure this little device could last me years to come. It has 5-in-1 holes in it with 2 usb ports, 1 sd card slot, 1 micro sd card, and a hdmi port! I could transfer my files from my phone, camera, drone, at the same time without switching one port to another. Oh dont get start about the speed. “INCREDIBLE” To all people out there who are looking for a high quality portable hub that could last you forever, i would DEFINITELY recommend this bad boy, premium Anker USB-C hub. Cheers !

I can always trust Anker to deliver great products--but I was pleasantly surprised that this one doesn't seem to be built with the same glossy plastic the other Anker products I have tend to use. This one seems like it's built with a matte plastic (that honestly felt like metal) and an improved pouch that can also house the cable that's attached to it. It works well connected to my Pixelbook and outputs to a screen as needed. When connected to my phone--the screen output doesn't work--but I didn't expect it to, as it's not supported by the phone. But the card readers work, so I can use this accessory across all my other USB-C devices.
