Wonderfully versitile and easy to use.
The fact that it can scan negatives, positives, and slides makes this a wonderful one-stop archiving shop. I have hundreds of old photos, slides, and negatives, that im not comfortable to mail away the originals to scanning services. Its faster than expected. Definitely a great value for the money.

Love that it can stand alone!
I have been looking for a scanner for film for a few years and tried multiple options-- one scanner I tried (not this brand) didn't work at all and acknowledged that its results were to look "artsy." The other option was an old flatbed scanner that had the slide attachments but didn't have current software for my computer-- without some crazy programming help. I am a photographer and worked at a photo printing lab for 7 years. I also shoot for magazines and have all my older slides. Stuff I want to see again in digital form! So, I was excited to get this! What I like best is that I can use it at the coffee table without being tethered to my computer (if I want). This is a great option because there are so many slides and film to go through--it helps me work and be part of what's going on! Out of the box, the scanner looks professional and is packed well. It has a slot for a memory card or to connect with USB to the computer. Love the option. I scanned negatives and slides. Very easy to load and to get them lined up to scan. There's an option for 5mb or 10mb scans. I did the 10 and found the file opened well in Photoshop--sized to about an 8x10 at 300 dpi. The scans are clear and great for online storage. The scanning went fast, too. Very excited to get lots of negatives backed up and to see photos more easily --and trust that they're backed up another way.

Easy to use
This is so simple! I've scanned negatives, slides and photos. Click on the function, then Scan; press the Enter button and it's done. When you're finished scanning, Click on the USB icon, press Enter, and they're transferred to a folder on your desktop. I file pictures by date: create a folder and copy them to it. I've gone back to 1980, I've got negatives from 1967...need a rainy day to sit for an hour!

Declutter
I have boxes of old photos collecting dust. Many of them are duplicates from, 'Get two sets for the price of one'. I wanted to declutter and dispose of meaningless photos (why did I take this? who are they?) and duplicates, and while doing that, digitize the remaining, and move them to the attic. This works great. Easy to use and a heck of a lot cheaper than paying someone to do it; or like I use to do, taking a photo of the photo. I am only half done, but very happy to be doing this. Bringing back memories, while emptying drawers!

For scanning old slides and negatives this does the trick.
I purchased this to scan old slides and negatives. I already have a great flatbed scanner for photos. I was surprised how well this unit worked. The instruction book could be written better. All in all it's a great unit to get digital copies of those slides and negatives from years past.

Super easy to use
I like how easy this is to use right out of the box. Speaking of the box, the manufacturers have it packed very well to prevent damage while shipping or in storage. Back to the scanner, I'm impressed with the live view feed that even enables editing just with the scanner. My photo scans look just as good as the original. I did have some graininess from the negatives I scanned but they are 20 years old so I was expecting it. That being said I ran them through photo editing software and they look great! I think this is a great buy for the money if for nothing else than its ease of use.
