Office 365 Home is a Good Deal, even if all you Really Want is the Cloud Storage option (6 TB for $100 / year - or less - with a Reputable Company that is not likely to Disappear....). Confirming what others have noted, a new license also works to EXTEND an existing Office 365 Subscription - in our case, all the way out to Sep 2020. That did seem to take more than "3 clicks" - but not much more: it was an easy process. To be fair, using all 6 TB of cloud storage would require some finagling - but we get to 4 very easily simply by using different user names on different systems. Beyond that, the Office Apps themselves are as expected. Certainly "Free" or Low(er) Cost options are available - we have used several over the years - and while those certainly work, the depth and breadth of the MS apps seem unmatched. IF you are already "locked into" another Cloud storage option (switching vendors is a hassle if you have a substantial amount of data uploaded!), and have a free-standing MS Office license (and / or are happy using an alternative), the Office 365 Subscription might not seem appealing - but for many of us it hits the right spot.

Just Purchased two of these for $55 as part of Amazon's Deal-of-the-day. My subscription will not expire well into 2021. I may purchase more before the deal expires. I have been an Office 365 Home subscriber for several years. All the main Office applications plus 1TB of cloud storage can't be beat. Good deal at $99. Great deal at $55.

About 6 months ago we decided to bite the bullet and try Microsoft Office 365 Home; mostly because we have a growing number of devices and users in our home. Long gone are the days of owning only one computer, so a single copy of the non-subscription Office Suite (e.g. Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016) was no longer sufficient. I didn’t previously mind having an outdated version of Office that would last for years, but unfortunately licensing doesn’t allow for installing a single copy of Office on multiple devices. While I am generally against subscription services, I am not personally satisfied with the free software alternatives that are readily available. Those who are satisfied with the free alternatives should not be purchasing this product! I’ve been an experienced Microsoft Office user since college in the 90s and my use of the Suite has continued forward into my professional career. Thus, I am unwilling to settle for the free products even at home (yes I’ve tried them, no I don’t think they are equivalent). I purchased Microsoft Office 365 Home, 5 users to try the subscription service about 6 months ago. Microsoft upgraded the 5 user subscription to the same terms as this 6 user subscription for all their customers back in October of 2018. I recommend keeping an eye out for discounted subscriptions – I was able to purchase another year’s extension yesterday at a deep discount. The best part is that Microsoft (uncharacteristically) made the process of adding this subscription onto my current subscription a breeze! The simple process is as follows: Make the digital purchase on Amazon (wait for a great deal); Go to your Digital Items on Amazon (click on the link in the confirmation email); Click on the “Continue to Office…” button; Log into your Microsoft account; The product key should automatically be confirmed; Make sure to turn off “Recurring billing” (why pay full price?); And voila! You are good to go! I appreciate being able to use the full-featured versions of Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. on my PCs, Tablets & phones. I scoffed when Microsoft came out with a subscription-based Office Suite, but so far (although I am loath to admit) having tried it I’ve found it to be convenient and well executed. Since I’ve been satisfied enough to extend our subscription, I will start using OneDrive to take advantage of the 1TB cloud storage. I’m curious to find out how it compares in functionality with Dropbox. By the way, 6TB of cloud storage (1TB per user) is a significant value.

Buying on Amazon (vs direct from Microsoft) worked perfectly. I had Office 365 Home already installed, but my subscription had expired. I noticed that Amazon was cheaper than renewing direct and took a shot. Almost immediately (a minute or two later), a digital code showed up in my Amazon account, which I was able to paste into Microsoft's renew-by-code page, and successfully renewed my Office install without any new downloads, using Amazons "Download" purchase type. Like I said, it just gave me the code I needed. $20 saved.

I used the Download option without issue. You will receive an e-mail which will have a button link "Access your content" which brings you to your Downloads and Codes list on Amazon. There should be a line for MS Office 365 Home with the Product Key value listed under. I used it to add to my existing subscription. I used to be against the Office 365 subscription model.. but since I can now have up to 6 account users with 1 TB of onedrive storage each and unlimited devices, it's actually a decent value. I almost always still use the desktop versions of Word and Excel. You can download it as needed. The online web version is continuing to improve over time.. but it's just not the same and lacks some features of the desktop versions of the apps. Amazon is able to provide this for $80. I do NOT use the auto renewal that Microsoft wants me to use.. that costs $99 for 12 months. Overall, quite pleased with this purchase and product .. and the price-point. I hope they don't start raising the annual fee.. that would cause me to think on whether to continue.

Very easy to extend your existing office 365 subscription. Just follow the links in your digital library and sign into your office 365 account. And you can buy more than 1 and extend for multiple years.

I've been a Microsoft Office user for years and was initially hesitant to subscribe to the product rather than buying it outright, but the 1TB of storage made the subscription the equivalent of paying for storage and getting Office 365 for free. I got a monthly subscription to try it out and was very pleased with it. So when I was able to buy an annual subscription at a significant savings during Amazon's Black Friday sales in 2017, I did -- entering the product key to my Microsoft account, adding 12 months to my subscription, and keeping my status as a monthly subscriber so that if I didn't find a deal this year, I wouldn't be hit with an annual renewal fee. I just bought this product to extend my annual subscription and it was even easier to do this year versus last year by using the "Continue to Office.com" button/link found in the Games and Software section of your Amazon account. I was prompted to sign-in to my Office account and within 3 clicks, the Product Key was added automatically. I didn't even have to look for the correct field and copy & paste it like I did last year. Whatever upgrades Amazon & Microsoft made to the process, it made renewing super simple. What I appreciate is that once the product key was added, I was redirected to my account screen showing when my next monthly charge will be and it shows the next charge to be December 2019 -- so, I'm good to go for another year.

This worked just as advertised through other comments. Thank you to those who commented previously which is why I am writing a review. I purchased the "download" option for up to 6 users. I received the email from Amazon directing to Games and Software whereby it directed me to Office.com. Upon logging in, it activated/recognized the key, and added it to my account. My renewal date was adjusted outward 12 months as expected. Thank you MS and Amazon on collaboration through this.

It feels weird to write a review for Microsoft Office, the product that everyone loves to hate. I was one of those bad people who was riding out the old old version from a previous job on my computer before I jumped on the home bandwagon. So why? 1) Microsoft is pushing towards the software as a subscription model just like everyone else. That’s fine. It’s easier on my wallet than a $500 piece of software every few years. The cost breaks even, which is by design. 2) Office 365 is making minor upgrades more rapidly versus waiting for big desires with each version. Granted, I don’t use 99% of them, but still. 3) Mobile! I’m finding myself doing quick and dirty edits for documents on my iPad and phone. 4) the 1tb of cloud storage for OneDrive. I use this for my photo collection synced with GoodSync from my desktop. Plus it just makes everything easier. The cost alone is cheaper than Dropbox, so why not? 5) the family version now covers you and 5 family members. Don’t have 5 family members? Read below. Each gets 1tb of storage. That’s a great way for a family to back up everything. Get the family version over the individual one. For the purpose of being nice to the license, my family now includes a few friends, who ride my license in exchange for a few beers a year. The license portal is a bit weird and awkward to maneuver through, but that’s ok. Microsoft has come along way over the last few years and I like what they’re doing with Office and the cloud. Office 365 for home for the family is worth the $10 a month.

We've been an Office 365 Home / up to 6 people subscriber for years now, directly from Microsoft and with a renewal in early January. Until this year, I had no idea I could simply re-up our subscription at any time and with an Amazon Daily Deal price no less, saving me more than forty bucks over the normal price. The process was simple and easy. It took a few minutes for the order to finish processing, but once it did, under my account, "Your Digital Items" was the subscription and a Continue to Office.com button. Pressed that, then after a login and a few more confirmations there was my existing Office.com "Services & subscriptions" page—with the one year extension already credited. Now it says January 2020 as my next billing date. As for the product itself, personally I prefer this subscription model because years back when MS was just about to offer it, I sat down and calculated how much we'd been spending on physical copies of Microsoft Office, including the upgrades, spread across multiple computers in our household—and it was a no-brainer to switch. Much cheaper this way—and with the Amazon integration for existing subscriptions plus the ability to keep an eye out for Daily Deals, it's an even better bargain. My top criticism of Microsoft Office (and it wouldn't matter which way we bought it) is they keep mucking with the UI and don't offer ways to use older legacy appearance or functions. I especially dislike it when they move stuff around on the command ribbons, making us learn all over again where everything is. But frankly, MS Office is what the world runs on these days, both home and businesses, and it does get the job done. Plus with the subscription model, we're guaranteed always to have the most current version.
