Better than the controversial "e-gift card" which might be declined! Because you can just swipe this physical gift card at the card reader, you can safely use it just like your other non-chip debit/credit cards. Last time, I asked a cashier in California about e-gift cards out of curiosity, they would have to call the manager (or other more knowledgeable colleagues) to find out how. I'm glad I saved myself such trouble, so I recommend not risking for now!

I think I read some of the reviews about not being able to refill the gift card online, so I purchased this card already knowing that. But it worked just fine at my local Safeway store!

Ordered for son in college out of state. Cards arrived fast. Worried they wouldn't work for some reason but they were activated and worked great! Will purchase more.

Wonderful Gift!

I purchased 2 Safeway gift cards for $100 each. The recipient is in a bit of a bind and I could think of no better gift than helping her out with her monthly grocery bill. The cards were delivered on time, on December 24th. She was absolutely thrilled with the gift. It was truly a blessing that I was able to buy her gift cards for her local grocery store from 2000 miles away.
