These chairs are awesome. We bought two and glad we did. We wanted some arcade table chairs that didn't take up a lot of room, with backs and a somewhat wide, firm seat, and these chairs met all those requirements. Very easy to assemble (like 4-5 pieces is all), and functions very well. The cushioning is comfortable yet firm, not too squishy. The back support is in a great location and feels very good. The seat back is a little bigger than anticipated, which is nice. Not a cheap doctor's office or nail salon chair, these are good quality and will last a long time - metal construction. We've had them about a month and they're getting tons of use with teens and grownups around the arcade table. We'll even wheel them over to the TV when we need a few extra seats for guests. Wheels work well, non-marring, we have them on laminate flooring. Hydraulics handle for up/down works great - I'm 220 lbs and handles me sitting on it at any height with no problem-o whatsoever. Highly recommend.

PROS: Easy assembly, well made, rolls well even on carpet. CONS: Doesn't go as low as I would like, but that's the limits of a gas cylinder...not the fault of the mfg. All of these adjustable stools have a range of motion, I needed something that went high enough to work at my bench..so I had to sacrifice how low it would go. This is one of the most comfortable rolling stools I've used.

I bought this for occasional use, and for that purpose, there is nothing better (or even close) to this stool for the money. The seat is 16 inches in diameter and 4 inches thick (larger than most). The base is very stable, height adjustment range is more than adequate, and the quality is decent. Instruction booklet was large and clearly printed, and assembly was fast and easy. Plus there was a bonus: If you've ever ordered something requiring assembly and found that essential screws were missing or defective (and next to impossible to replace with anything you can find locally in the USA), Amazon Basics actually included a package marked "extra parts" with spare screws just in case. I didn't need them, but still I've bought other things here (speaker stands, most recently) that were useless as delivered because of screws that were missing or defective. So, nice touch! I should mention that even though the seat is large and well-padded, I would not expect it to be comfortable to someone who had to sit on it all day, every day, for professional work. If you need a stool for that, spend more money. But this was exactly what I wanted, and better than I expected.

I got this chair from an Amazon Warehouse deal, with the price being around $25 after everything was said and done (I honestly think that price was a mistake because I saw the no-back drafting stool for approx. the same price used). Just assembled it and it works as it should, although some of the holes weren't drilled very well (hard to thread into.) But, it holds just fine it seems and I am very happy with what I got for $25. If you see this chair with the back for less than $30, it's a steal and you should buy it. I think it's okay for $50 as it is right now full price (not sure I'd pay $70 for the quality you get with this). Anything under $50 I think this chair is worth the money. This chair is also very nice because most rolling tools that come with backs sit on the high side (25-30 inches.) This one does not, it sits low like a stool without a back does, which is exactly what I was looking for. Pros: • It is GREAT for low to moderate height tasks. I have a low table that my 3d printers sit on and this will be excellent for me to be able to roll all the way around the table and stay seated. If you're looking to do any work on a high table or area (over ~25-30 inches), this stool is NOT good for that. • It does not have one of those metal rings to put your feet on that other rolling stools with backs do. I dislike those as I find that those rings put my feet up too high most of the time, making me uncomfortable. (This is a subjective Pro) • The wheels roll very well so far. • The seat is pretty large diameter which I find rather comfortable, although this is no office chair in terms of comfort. • Very easy to assemble. • The back is not required to be attached, so you can take it off if you want and use this as without it in the future if your task would be better suited without the back Cons: • Poorly threaded holes on the bottom of the seat (but the screws still worked well enough to hold everything together strongly so I didn't take a star off) • Caster wheels will likely not fair very well on carpet or in very dirty environments in the long run. • Wheels do not lock. • Back is not adjustable, but I do not care about this. The bottom line is: this is an excellent rolling stool with a back that sits at lower heights. It does not feel like it's on the brink of falling apart on me at all. If you purchase this, put it together properly, and don't beat the hell out of it, it will likely last a long time. The only unknown is if the gas cylinder will last. I will not find out because I intend to use this stool at its lowest height, anyways. If you're interested and see this for <$30, definitely buy it!

For the price, I'm surprised at the quality of the material. It's heavy and the seat is wider and more comfortable than the other brands with the same or slightly more expensive price.

This is the perfect stool for me. There I said it. I use it for working at my computer desk, and it raises high enough to bring my elbows a little higher than the height of the desk, which is perfect for me to keep my back nice and straight, eyes focused ahead on my monitor, and wrists nice and parallel to the desk. Perfect ergonomics and the stool is nice and study. Why do I hate it, then? Because it is made by Amazon and they are taking over the world, driving stores and manufacturers out of business. But I bought it and love. And hate it. Such a complicated world we live in.

My wife, who has Congestive Heart Failure, needed something comfortable to sit on while cooking. She found the basic lowest height setting to be perfect for her and is really pleased with it. She now doesn't have to stay on her feet so long. Thank you for an easy to assemble and well built product.

Easy to assemble and works perfectly. I highly recommend this stool. It is the perfect height for playing my guitar.

It's really unacceptable and ignorant that AmazonBasics gives absolutely no information on this fabulous and comfortable stool. Although this is labeled as a drafting stool (which it certainly can be), I have been in search of a "better mousetrap" work/shop stool. I have two different types of "low to the ground" stools which I need to sit on when I am doing home remodeling or any other "around the house" task where I don't want to be bending forward for hours on end. One of my lousy stools is a Harbor Freight square seat workshop stool. The other is a Duralast round, adjustable height automotive work stool which I believe I got at Autozone. Unfortunately both of them really suck because their 4 swivel casters are located at right under the outer edges of the seats. While I am sitting totally upright with my body's center of gravity over the center of their seats, they work just fine, but the minute I lean forward to any extent both stools tip forward and dump me on the ground, because of their lousy caster wheel placements in relation to a person's center of gravity. I was excited to see this stool because of the leg configuration.. Instead of 4 unstable caster positions, there are 5 swivel casters, which appeared to extend well beyond the diameter of the seat itself, leading me to believe that it might be far less likely that this will tip out from under me when I shifted my body position out of vertical. The legs do extend well beyond the diameter of the seat itself, at 13.5" off of each spoke, giving them a footprint of around 28-30", versus the diameter of the seat which is a comfortable 15".. So, when I received this, I couldn't wait to see if this was the answer to my low to the ground, working dilemma. It went together very quickly without the need to follow instructions. Just turn the seat upside down and use the provided machine screws and the provided allen wrench to attach and tighten the vertical post to the underside of the seat and next snap the swivel casters into the holes in each leg. Set the wheeled legs on the ground and insert the support post into the spoke of the legs and you are done. I immediately did my anxiously awaited stability test to see if it would tip over and out from under me, when I leaned forward as if I were reaching down to pick something up off of the floor 2-3 feet away. Rock solid. I couldn't tip this over no matter how far I leaned or reached. And here is what Amazon so negligently fails to tell you about this fantastic stool, about its ergonomics. First of all the seat itself is extremely comfortable to sit on for very long periods of time. It has sufficient give for comfort without sinking in too far and bottoming out. The seat itself is about 4" thick and covered with black "leather like" material which looks to me that it will be very durable for a long time. I love the hydraulic lifting and lowering post which allows the seat to raise or lower extremely smooth, infinitely to your desired height for whatever you are doing. When you are sitting on it and you pull up on the handle under the seat, it smoothly glides to its lowest position, which is 20" off the floor. Then to raise it up, you maintain your sitting position but transfer your body weight off of the seat by flexing your legs slightly upward (in other words, taking the downward pressure off of the seat), at which point it very smoothly glides back up to its highest position, which is 25" off the floor. I will easily find many things to do at both positions. At the highest position, I see myself using it as a very comfy sit down stool for things to be done at a normal table anywhere in the house. And at its lowest position, this will be my "lovin' it" bench stool for home DIY projects such as installing baseboards or trim at the floor, scraping, sanding, or painting walls below 3' off the floor, doing lower to the ground electrical work, etc. This thing ROCKS. And the casters glide as smooth as can be on hard surfaces. It will also roll with a little resistance when sitting on it, on short pile sculpted carpet but you need to relieve some of your body weight as you roll, in order to do that. In addition, this is a very stylish stool, with chrome legs which flair out where they turn down to the floor. This stool could not be better.

This product is easily one of the most fastest thing you can assemble. It is also by no means cheap, all of the material is really durable. The main part, the seat, is also the best part. The leather shows no very to little no sign of wear so far, after a month of constant use. More comfortable than I initially thought it would be, both soft and firm. This stool rises up pretty high, if that's what you want, but it doesn't go so low. I leaned back on this stool at full height and it showed no sign of tipping, crazy stable. Overall a very perfect product for its purpose. Remember not to sit in one position for long periods of time. Without having a back cushion is a bonus for me, you can easily move around, stretch, and lean out. There is virtually the same product with a back cushion if that's what your looking for.
