This set was to help me with my first ever attempt at a sustainable food garden. The packaging was really cute, and nice. The pamphlet was pretty, and informative. I think for a starter set it was very good. It was better than another vegetable starter kit I got, a strawberry kit, and a catnip kit. So ita the best of 4 I have tried. There was enough soil to fill my four inch pots, the stick labels were nice, uniform, and helpful. I did take things very slow, so planting all 5 took almost an hour. I think soaking the soil in a jar that fits the soil would be more beneficial as my bowl was a little to wide. Update 3/16 All 5 have sprouted. They came within 4-11 days. They seem to be going quite strong. They are fairing better than the other kits I got. This could be because herbs are easy starter plants, but I think all the detailed information in the pamphlet really helped. I'll add photos once they are more established. The package did include a garden tool that was wrapped in plastic. I would prefer not to have this in the package, especially for individuals who might purchase future packages like I would prefer to do. It is unnecessary waste. The package did not need the tool, and while it might be good for a larger garden like I would one day hope to have, I think it would be something I could individually get based on my preferences. The sellers seem very nice, and wonderful. I like the message they share with their gardening package. It makes this seem more like a community friendly hobby which I think a lot of gardeners expect it to be. I will keep updating this review as the plants start to grow. At this time I really like the product and the company.

I've always wanted to start growing some basic herbs for my kitchen but always thought it would be too complicated. The entire set is well-designed, with step-by-step instructions and the set-up was easy. I've always been good with indoor plants, that were already potted and ready to go, but I'd never successfully grown anything from the seed, and was worried that I would fail. But, I figured it was worth a try and I am so happy that I gave it a go. Best things about the set: - Included instructions that were easy to follow - ORGANIC - this was a big selling point for me, since a lot of the sets out there aren't organic - Arrived quickly, in the time requested Overall I'd recommend this to someone who interested in getting started with herbs.

When I bought this I didn’t see any reviews of the plants after they were planted so I decided to make one. All of the dates they sprouted are below. As of now they have been growing great. Especially the Cilantro! I had no problems with the seeds not sprouting. But make sure they get water whenever the top spoil is dry because the plants can die pretty quickly without water. * First planted on January 14th, 2019 * First thing to sprout was the thyme. Jan 19th, 2019 * Cilantro started sprouting on Jan 22nd, 2019 * Basil sprouted on Jan 22nd, 2019. * Parsley sprouted Jan 25, 2019. I forgot to write when my Sage sprouted sorry.

I’ve never been more excited to open an Amazon package as I have been for this one! The moment I opened the kit, I knew I was going to be impressed with everything in it! The simple artwork and presentation alone are well thought out. The creative way the herbs are stored was a nice surprise! The instructions are simple, detailed, and easy to understand. A link was also available for those who wanted a step by step how-to video. I absolutely love that everything included is organic and non-GMO! The detailed instructions made it very easy for me to set everything up and plant the seeds. I kid you not...once I had the organic containers planted, and on my windowsill; I checked on them so many times just to look at how adorable they were! Each pot has its own wooden stick with the herb’s name and a space to write the date planted. 1/4-1/2 cup of water and light from the window each day is all needed to ensure your herbs will thrive. The first sight of a seedling emerging is soooo exciting! Since this kit, I’ve also bought another for a family member! These would make an amazing, unique gift for such a reasonable price! Now, for one of the things that impressed me most was the company’s story and customer service. This is a husband/wife company . I won’t go into details other than, their story is mentioned beautifully in the kits’ information. They truly care about the customer, and their happiness with their product. I emailed them a few times, and always received a heartfelt response in an incredibly short amount of time! I could go on and on... I’m just a wife, mother, and grandmother who loves gardening, and this kit has surpassed what I had expected! It’s so exciting to watch the herbs grow! I’ll post more pictures when my plants are bigger! Buy it, you won’t be disappointed!!! It’s a great product!!!!

What a fantastic kit! The packaging and presentation is beautiful - you can tell there was a lot of thought and care put into it ; it would make a great gift. I love that the soil is packaged so you can do just one or two pots if you prefer not to do them all. We just put all the soil pods into a large bowl and added the recommended amount of water, then filled each pot (directions say to do one at a time). I did this with my kids and they LOVED it. The small seed containers made it very easy for them to plant the seeds (vs. dealing with individual seeds or a giant packet). We put the pots on a tray on the counter. There are printed instructions that detail how to care for each plant.

First let me say this is not a slapped together herb garden kit! It seems very well thought out from the packaging, instructions, seed containers to the little custom wood plant markers. Opening the kit was similar to unboxing an Apple product. The seeds are not stuck in a little envelope and thrown in the bottom of the box like other kits but instead come in cool labeled cylinders about the size of a chapstick! Buying organic foods for our family has always been a priority for me and my Husband. I couldn’t find any other kits who had legitimately certified organic options like Spade to Fork. This was the main reason I chose this kit. Inside the kit you’ll find a detailed instruction manual that is very confidence inspiring in growing the herbs! It has specific instructions for every herb in the kit which makes it sort of a no brainer. They’ve even went so far as to include a QR code and link to a great video to watch on how to do it and some FAQ’s. After all of that awesomeness the part I liked most is that they make you feel like family. Their gratitude for supporting their small family business comes across earnestly and sincere and it makes you feel like you made the right choice. Can’t wait for my herbs to grow and throw them straight into the dish I’m making. Not to mention the money saved having to buy them from the grocery store. Thoroughly impressed!

This is an EXCELLENT high-quality product. It's certified ORGANIC and provides everything you need to get started. My second-graders and I carefully followed the directions provided in the package (after watching the video on Youtube). (Just type in "spade to fork" as your search terms.) After hearing about how fun it was, my teaching partner's class asked to have a chance to do the same project! ( I am re-ordering!) Although one set is PLENTY, I figure two sets, in an outdoor planter, will keep my pasta sauce and salads AMAZINGLY fresh! WELL worth it! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE small quality-conscious companies! This one's a keeper!

I just received my kit today and I can’t wait to get started! The box, presentation are super cute and the cork seed holders are so inventive; nice touch! It’s certified organic, which is awesome. No nasty chemicals here! The kit comes with a guide on how to get started with planting, watering and loving your herbs. Great for me cause I don’t have much of a green thumb. Another awesome thing; the company is family owned with 40acres in Oregon. I have a business as well and I’m ALL ABOUT supporting family, local companies. You get a free kit with your purchase as well. The website will take you to Messenger. Don’t get discouraged, it’s automated and easy. I can’t wait to get started! Don’t pass this by, you’ll love it too!!

I have been dreaming of growing my own herbs when I found this indoor kit. I get tired of buying herbs at the store only to use part of them and then throw the rest away. It's expensive. So in my apartment I'm growing my own and using only what I need. Plus they're fresh. Not all of the ones I would find at the store were organic, so I REALLY like how I can grow my own organic herbs, and spend less. And EVERYTHING in this kit is organic, which is cool and different- it is the only one I found like that. Until the day I can move into a house and can grow herbs outside in the backyard, I now have herbs growing on my windowsill in my very small, apartment kitchen ;)

It was very easy to plant these herbs and it is super convenient, you everything you need! I planted my herbs on 30th of March, and here are the photos of them on April 25th. For some reason some of the plants, like basil and parsley are growing much slower, than say, sage. The first one to grow for me was thyme. Another thing is that I feel that for some plants there are too many of them in a single pot, we planted 12-14 seeds in every pot, but almost all of them grew and now the pots look a bit crowded.
