This Quicken version I have used since 1985! Great use of restored files, usernames, passwords, auto-backup, etc.

I have used this Quicken Home and Business for almost 2 decades and it is all I have needed. I will not use anything else!

Didn't want to upgrade bc it is usually useless, but this one is actually much better.

I purchased this on Amazon because it was cheaper than renewing through Quicken -- before i linked to reviews. Yikes I thought I had made a terrible mistake and I was in for a wasted coupled hours trying to download and update my software. So I didn't download and reinstall -- I just typed in the new activation code and bang, other than a splash screen trying entice me to give them auto-renew authorization, it worked. As a long-time user I am a bit peeved that they switched to licensing as I like to upgrade only periodically. Hope this helps.

Instructions: Purchases from a retailer (not Quicken.com) – a boxed version or download Purchase the Quicken version you want to use. If it's not the same version (for example, you have Deluxe but want Premier, or vice versa) Quicken will pro-rate your existing membership and apply it to your expiration date. Get your activation code. If you purchased a download of Quicken, you'll receive this in an email; if you purchased a CD/Disc, the activation code will be printed in the box. Open Quicken. Go to Help > Enter Activation Code (Windows) or Quicken > Enter Activation Code (Mac)

I believe Quicken is getting a bad rap because of the new subscription based service. As a program, Quicken is still just as good as it was before, (I updated from 2016 to 2019). Although I don't prefer paying an annual subscription, I changed my perspective after listening to a video of the Quicken CEO explaining their reasoning. In essence, it's easier to put all their efforts to fine tune and enhance one quicken platform than to have to deal with several years of programs. Although 2019 is not revolutionary, it is evolutionary with new enhancements. The upgrade is seamless, removing the old Quicken version, installing the new version, and converting the old file. Per the Frequently Asked Questions, you can install Quicken on as many computers as you have (I.e. a main computer and a backup computer), BUT, it has to be the same USER-ID login for each computer. I personally work on my church's files at home and just copy those files to the church computer each Sunday. NOTE: When installing Quicken on my second computer, the old version could not automatically be removed; so, after searching around, the remedy was to download 2 files [ QCLEANUI.EXE & MSICLEAN32.EXE]. After executing the QIcleanui.exe file, the old Quicken version was removed; and, the new Quicken installed OK. Again, I believe Quicken 2019 is worth the upgrade.

For personal and small business it is much easier to use and less expensive than Quick Books. Puts everything into one place and should make taxes easier at the end tax year.

I started with the first DOS version for MS-PC in the mid-80's. I have as expected become reliant on the program. My current version is 2019 with the subscription. Major software today to survive has gone this route. Subscription apps to insure that users buy a version every year. In the past one could use a copy for 3 years or more. Most recently, they set the download security function to 3 years. I replaced my 2016 copy with the 2019 copy knowing that I would lose the download function in April 2019 for the 2016 version. The program has been very beneficial in planning my previous business (retired). The version now includes rental property, it used to be a stand-alone feature, then a purchased add-on. Combining Quicken with Turbo-Tax made my business life and accounting much easier. Planning tools work as well as you are willing to implement them.
