A great beginner's instrument!

Got this for may daughter in 5th Grade Band. She has been playing flute, and wanted to try something new - she is absolutely delighted with this instrument. Nice looking, plays well, excellent set-up out of the box. Her band teacher was quite happy with the overall quality and performance of this saxophone. Word of Advice - buy some extra reeds! The reeds that came with it were fine, but I had not realized that the reeds are so fragile, that even in a box of NEW reeds - 3 out of 10 are usually 'duds'. If you are new to instruments like this, having a dud/difficult reed is very frustrating - especially if you aren't aware that not all of them are 'perfect'. The last thing you want is to get a new sax, and have difficulty playing because your reeds are wearing out.

Quality Beginners Saxophone

I'm a novice when it comes to the Saxophone. I purchased this Sax based off the good reviews I read. I think this Sax would be good for any beginner. It's in great condition and has all the parts that are needed.

Very pleased with everything

To be completely honest, I haven't played an instrument in a while. The last time was years ago but that was the clarinet. So far, upon playing this saxophone, I'm having a good time trying to learn something again. The build seems nice based on my knowledge and research and I haven't had any trouble picking it up and playing. It also came with a neat mouthpiece, ligature, grease, cleaning kit as well as 3 reeds. Definitely thoughtful so that you can start playing. I'm looking forward to continuing the learning process and it feels like this is a great saxophone to start with.

Great beginner sax

My 10-year-old son have been begging me to get him a saxophone. After looking around all the saxophones reviewed on Amazon,I ordered this one. Right out of the case my 10-year-old was able to play Notes and sound pretty good. He had problems playing the lower notes just because I think he was not feeling the horn with the volume of air needed to do so and improper embrochure, etc. I look forward to playing at myself to truly give an accurate reading. based on how he sounds though, I would definitely recommend the saxophone. I think until you really reach high proficiency level, I don’t think you’re going to be able to tell a difference. I think it’s a great horn for a great price!

A good student sax

"I bought this for my 5th grade girl. She just started band this year, and we started out renting a sax from a local music store. I later realized that we would spent about $1200 before we owned the sax - which was used, and in rough cosmetic condition. I started looking around at different purchasing options here. Since this is my daughters first year, we knew there was a good chance of her losing interest, we didn't want to sink a fortune into a new sax, so we decided to give this a try. For $255, the risk was low (we would have spend that in 8 months renting). First impressions, this is a gorgeous sax. I took it out of the box and tested all the keys. Everything feels well built and high quality. We put it together and played it side by side with the rented sax (which was an Antigua) - the sound quality was equal to, if not slightly better than the rented sax. I played sax through high school, so I feel like I'm qualified to judge the sound quality. But as further confirmation, her music teacher has also commented on the quality and sound of this instrument. I can't tell you how happy I am with this purchase. We could replace this sax 5 times for the same cost as a rental...but I really don't think we will need to. If my daughter decides to stick with this into High School, we will think about upgrading, but for the next few years, I have no doubt that this sax will serve her well."

AS III Alto sax review - My view

Received the AS III professional model Alto Sax yesterday . The Lacquer is simply Amazing. More than what I expected. Could not get the Pad Guard & one Plastic coated reed. Regarding the short supply got immediate response from Eastar & am thoroughly convinced with their reply. The executives of Eastar are highly reciprocative. EASTAR maintains professional standards to a high kevel.Rest of the items are all excellent . Intonation is excellent. For the value it's much more . As the name suggests it's indeed a Professional model one. The keys are ergonomically designed which gives a very comfortable hand positions. I strongly recommend it to any buyer who needs a quality product at one tenth of cost .
