I had a gas can with one of those stupid spring-loaded spouts that failed. for a moment I thought I had to buy a whole new gas can until I started searching and found this product. It worked perfectly and fits the old gas can just right.I'm very happy that I didn't have to buy a whole new gas can as I hate to waste things whenever I can buy a part to keep something functional it makes me happy!and dispensing gas into my lawn mower with this new spout is so much easier than the spring loaded one which was a pain in like other people say it doesn't prevent gas pills I think it actually makes it worse.

I have been looking for a gas can that had an easy to use spout for at least five years. The new EPA-compliant cans have spouts that are hard to use, pour slowly, and leak gas everywhere. Between the springs, the buttons, and the other clever levers they are impossible to use! I purchased three of these as a test and they worked great on pre-EPA cans and post-EPA-influence cans and they work great on both styles! I plan to order three more so that all of my cans are using the easy to pour spouts. They give you two styles of caps (one fine thread and one coarse thread). One of my post-EPA cans fit one of the supplied caps, but the other didn't. However, I was able to use the cap that came with the original can with this new nozzle and it worked great -- no leaks. One note: If you have the post-EPA cans that don't have a separate vent then you may want to order "gas can vent kits" from Amazon. They are super easy to install and will make pouring faster and easier.

I had been looking for a replacement spout for my older 5 gallon gas cans without success until I saw this on Amazon. It comes with a fine and coarse screw on cap so that it should fit most if not all cans. It fit mine perfectly. Also, I like the plug cap so I can turn the spout inward when the can is empty or I'm transporting a full can.

Nice to have product if you use gas cans a lot. I'm not sure why some say it doesn't fit their gas cans. I have 4 different plastic cans that I bought this year from different manufacturers and this fits all of them. The problem I encountered was using it with a full five gallon can to fill small power equipment. It was easier to use the spout that came with the can because I had greater control and no mess. I didn't like the new style nozzles until I figured out how they work. Now I like them. I'll keep this in my truck for smaller size gas cans and when transferring gas into a vehicle gas tank. The flexible nozzle works better in certain situations. That's why I'm happy with my purchase.

I've never been a fan of the new EPA-mandated gas cans. They're cumbersome, but up until now I've managed. Last month, my wife bought a new Chrysler vehicle. It doesn't have a traditional gas cap, just a door that you press the nozzle through (which takes a few pounds of pressure). The nozzle would release fuel before it had actually fully inserted and pour gasoline *everywhere*. Those nozzles aren't flexible either, so I really couldn't angle it at all. This product works exactly as advertises. No more fuel all over my feet. Or my shirt. Or the car door. Or the lawn. Or anywhere else other than where it belongs. Just pouring into the gas tank like it's 1999.

Works as described. Saved a plastic container from the land fill.

After Hurricane Michael left us without power for 4 days we bought a generator to power our lights and medical equipment should that happen again. As part of our preparations we purchased 3 5 gallon gas cans. They had the new government approved spouts. Since my hand and arm movements are limited I just couldn't deal with these so I ordered Kool Products flexible gas spouts which took care of my problem very inexpensively.

After many other purchases I tried this spout kit and finally a threaded collar with coarse threads that fit my Midwest can. Perfect fit, no leaks, and no more unmanageable, two hands required, safety spout that resulted in more spills than a regular spout. Side benefit, now I have a spare fine thread cap in case one of my Gott cans ever needs one.

I absolutely despise the crappy new self-venting spouts that are supposed to save the environment but actually do the opposite. I have not had a single one that has not broken and leaked gasoline all over. I am delighted to make my old gas cans useful again with these new (old style) spouts! They don't vent themselves, but I am happy to spend the extra few seconds waiting for the gas to come out slower - at least it ends up in the tank instead of on the ground!

Nobody wants a nanny state telling us how to do things. This is a simple solution to conduct my life the way I want to, not the way the "state" wants. It is bad enough to have the state decide which light bulbs we should by, let alone making filling gas from a gas can almost impossible.
