Great Customer Support and the controller does support Fortnite Battle Royale
If you are like us, you read the reviews. This controller has gotten mixed reviews on whether Fortnite works with this controller. My son decided he still wanted to give it try. Per the recommendation of some of the reviews, we immediately updated the firmware to the latest available (currently at 1.05). Unfortunately, it did not work, BUT we sent an email to customer support around 6 pm CST. We explained the details and asked for further guidance. By 6 am the next day, we had received a professional response. While working with customer support, we noticed that the controller settings was set to "limited." Once we updated the setting to "BuilderPro", the controller works with Fortnite Battle Royale. The customer service was excellent! Thank you for resolving the issue quickly!

L3/R3 working after firmware update using the Ludu Mapp app
The factory installed firmware (1.01) doesn't have working L3/R3 buttons, but the L3/R3 button functionality was enabled by updating the firmware to 1.03 via the Ludu Mapp app (Settings > Rotor Riot Controller Settings > Update Firmware). After the firmware update is complete, you can uninstall the Ludu Mapp app if you want. I'm a bit disappointed that the advertised L3/R3 functionality was not present on the factory installed firmware, but I can hardly complain as they did actually enable the functionality and it's the only controller of its kind on market right now. I suspect that many users will not install the companion Ludu Mapp app when prompted (I didn't at first), because they don't realize it's necessary to do the firmware update to enable the full functionality of the controller. Additionally, I think Ludu Mapp should prompt for the firmware update on the home page of the app rather than requiring the user to find the option in the settings page (or even to know that they should be looking for it).

Great Controller for iPhone
Really Enjoy this controller, works just like a console controller and supports most of the games I play.

Excellent buy
This controller does what it promises. The L3 and R3 buttons work with the LUDU MAPP application running in the background. I used this with Shadow and it completely changes my experience. Wish it was wireless but I’ll get over that. If you’re a iOS mobile gamer, you won’t be disappointed. *For the Fortnite complainers, EPIC games added native controller support in February. All your mfi controller work with it.

A+ Exactly as Advertised. LOVE IT!
Bought this to use for only Fortnite on my Iphone6s. Downloaded APP, updated controller to latest firmware version and loaded game. works FLAWLESSY. Awesome controller. Right now you can't crouch from pressing in right analog stick, this is a Fortnite issue, not a gamepad issue. They are working on a fix. Couldnt be happier. The people that are having trouble need to UPDATE their IOS version and the gamepad with the free app. It's super simple!

Great controller with pushable thumbsticks and a mount for your phone to boot!
I got the Rotor Riot MFi controller because I'd recently purchased a new computer with an NVidia graphics card (I'd had AMD previously) and could therefore stream to my phone and iPad via the Moonlight app but Skyrim isn't great with no L3/R3. For this the controller works absolutely perfectly. Games on the phone have to explicitly allow L3/R3, so while Fortnite allows controllers, it still won't have those buttons enabled, but I'm hopeful that this will come in a later update, and anyway I can stream Fortnite from my desktop and L3 and R3 will work just fine on the Rotor Riot. It's comfortable to hold, not so light that it feels flimsy but not so heavy that it's hard to hold with a phone attached, and perfectly responsive in my usage so far. Definitely the future of gaming on iOS. The only downside that I have experienced is that every time you plug it in it asks to open the controller-specific app, and opening the controller-specific app from there can often make the controller unresponsive to Moonlight, but when I've plugged it in while Moonlight was open and hit ignore on the prompt, it's worked flawlessly, and barring that unplugging and replugging pretty much always works.

Using iOS Remote Play to PS4
For those of you purchasing this for iOS PS4 Remote Play this is likely your best choice. Even more so than the Nimbus. PS4 Remote Play for iOS is FULLY supported by this controller. It is the only MFI certified controller that has a working L3/R3 button. Make sure you download the app and apply the firmware to enable that. I am fully able to Remote Play fortnight, APEX, Watch Dogs, Battlefront, etc etc. This is the single best controller for iOS PS4 Remote Play!!!

Love this controller!
Really love this controller! Haven’t had any issues with it. Be sure to install the companion app, but there are hundreds of games available in the App Store that are compaitable with a controller that I didn’t even realize! I’ve mostly been using it for Minecraft, but Ark: Survival Evolved is fun to play with it too! I have an iPhone 7 and haven’t noticed any issues. I’ve also used on my iPad. I believe it’s a 3rd or 4th gen iPad, definitely at least 2-3 years old and still works great. The only slightly annoying thing is, you can’t charge your device while using the controller. I even tried getting one of those dongles that let you listen to music and charge your phone, but that didn’t seem to work. I’ve just made it a habit to charge my phone/iPad to 100% before playing (or pretty close) and I get a solid 4+hours of gameplay.

The Best MFi/iOS Controller with L3/R3 Support
I bought this to play my PS4 remotely, using Sony's relatively new Remote PS4 app. It works flawlessly. If you're choosing a controller for an iOS device (like an iPhone or an iPad), it is vital that you choose a reliable, MFi-certified one like the Rotor Riot controller. The "Made for iPhone"/MFi mark on Rotor Riot's device proves that this will work with your device. Rotor Riot has a huge advantage over their competitors, though - this controller supports "clicking in" or "pressing" both joysticks into the controller (commonly known as "L3" and "R3" button presses). These buttons are not even registered on most iOS controllers, but they work perfectly on iOS! For example, one of my favorite games, Hitman 2, depends heavily on the R3 button. It's what makes your character crouch! You can't be a very good hit man, sneaking around, without crouching. The controller is comfortable, sturdy, and has lots of details that I appreciate. The buttons are a little clickier than the usual console controller, but they're very high quality for a phone accessory. The phone holder doesn't scratch or damage my naked, case-less iPhone, but it holds it really tight nonetheless. It even includes some wire management clips and a little Velcro tie for the cable. I honestly don't even notice that there's a wire there most of the time. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to play games more comfortably (or more accurately) on the iPhone, especially if you're streaming games to your phone from a PS4 or PC.

l3/r3 is a promise yet to be fullfilled
Initial review at 3 stars. Now at 5. So like many people I was interested in this joystick as it's the first MFI controller to support l3/r3. Both Moonlight and R Play are aware of this controller. Moonlight has added a change to support it. Sadly I couldn't get anything to work with it yet (11/27/18). So treat l3/r3 as a promise and let's look at the rest of the joystick. The grip on the thumbstick is solid. The play on the stick comes across as gross but I think its related to the weight more than the stick. The dead zone seems good and allows fine movement. I do like the removable phone grip. The weight while balanced is way too light. I’m on the fence if I should return this but it has the attention of Moonlight/RPlay so I'm hoping it will get the support it needs. UPDATE I got used to the weight after playing with it abit. Still too light but I stopped noticing it. The sticks are fine. Roughly equal to a xbone stick. A tiny more wiggle in the dead zone. Definitely keeping it and once I can see any app using l3/r3 I’ll bump up the stars. Update 12/19: rotor riot had a firmware update (1.0.3) via the ludu mapp app that enabled l3/r3. Works like a charm on moonlight. Upgraded to 5 stars. Any complaints I've had are diminished by working l3/r3.
