For my job, I inspection apartments and houses for health and safety issues. One thing I've always been frustrated about it testing the smoke detector. I'm way too short. I usually ask a client if they have a broom I can use to poke their detector. One day, when I was using a back scratcher that extended like this, I thought maybe I could use it for the purpose of testing the smoke detectors, but it collapsed with pressure on the test button. But then I found this handy thing. I know that's not the conventional way to use it, but it works great for my need. It's very sturdy (and folds likely in my inspection clipboard)

I had been using a thin wood pointer which broke. I am a preschool Teacher with a 2 - 3 year old class. I like to give the pointer to the children to point to our letter/color/number/shape etc and this is perfect for them. The children were all very excited about the new pointer. I love that it collapses for easy storage. It feels very sturdy, I'm sure it will last through many school years.

Sometimes the little laser red dot flopping around the screen used by presenters is distracting to the viewer. This simple collapsible pointer is much easier for the audience to deal with. It’s old fashioned but is really more effective than the the shaky little laser dot.

i have a bunch of learning posters on the wall and this pointer makes it easier to teach my son. Its great quality and pretty long. Good value for your money.

I keep this by the front door to untangle my flag when the breeze catches it. It’s just a bit to high for my reach so the extension is perfect! The soft tip is great for giving it a little poke to release from the pole, and is so gentle on the fabric!

I bought this to add to a a play "teacher set" for my nieces. They love it! It is sturdy, functional, and shortens down to keep it from taking up too much space.

I'm a nurse and work at a hospital that just installed a new call light system throughout the hospital. Now we need to physically go to the room and shut off the light. Most light buttons are located against the wall that is hard to get to without tripping or squeezing through equipment and furniture. This is the perfect way to shut off the button!

This thing fit exactly what I needed in a pointer. The reason I needed this was to push a garage elevator button past the passenger side window from the driver side of my car. This telescopic pointer is stiff enough that if I pushed the elevator button, it wouldn't retract but still easily retract if I used my two hands. It has a good weight to it, which adds to the sturdiness which I love. It would probably hurt if I poked or whacked someone with it. I'm not a teacher and would not recommend that type of use on a student. Unless they deserved it....

Bought it as a gift for my professor. She is very pleased! When our classrooms are only with Apple TV instead of traditional projectors and screens, this is more welcomed than the laser pointers.

Perfect for my teaching needs whenever I need to stand back and point at something. Hide it because your students think it’s a toy.
