The perfect solution for an unusual application!
Let's start with the fact that these things are GORGEOUS! Excellent craftsmanship and fit/finish. Now to the question of strength. Many folks have inquired how much weight they will hold and do they hold knives firmly. Well, the attached photo should explain it all. I bought 7 of the 20" units for building a display of an historic edge weapon collection... swords, axes, pole arms, spears etc. Suffice to say that these items are far more massive than your typical chef's knives. The single heaviest piece is a 7 pound German bastard sword that connects with two of the knife strips, one near the hilt and one farther down the blade. The hold is superb. I even went so far as to punch the wall adjacent to the display to see if I could dislodge and of the pieces... nope! I was worried that the magnets were not up to the challenge, but boy was I surprised. To be clear, the wall to which the display is mounted is made of tongue and groove cypress, so my substrate is much stronger than drywall. The wall must be able to support whatever the magnets can hold of course. Wow, just wow.

Very Well Made and Looks Great
We purchased the "Wenge" color, 16" size. It is always difficult to know how it truly is going to look based on pictures on a computer. The color is a bit lighter than what I was expecting, but looks fantastic. The design and craftsmanship are excellent. Also, when comparing similar items I always try to purchase ones made in the USA. Installation is extremely simple and everything was included to mount to drywall or the studs. The magnets definitely strong enough for our needs, none of the knives have slipped at all. I avoided the stainless steel ones due to appearance and rusting issues (they will inevitably show surface rust in our salty air). I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a magnetic knife holder.

Very very strong, with no "dead spots"
This is exactly what I needed and wanted in a magnetic knife rack. I recently invested in a set of 18 Damascus steel kitchen and steak knives, and they are too pretty to put in a drawer. I needed something strong, that looked nice, and would work in the space I had. I seriously did a happy dance when I found this knife rack and read the reviews. The one where the person used them to hang a collectoon of weapons really convinced me that this could hold my knives. I did a further happy dance when I found it was available in 30", as the space I had was about 32" wide and not tall enough to put 2 rows of racks. The rack holds my knives beautifully and very securely. There are no "dead spots" on this, other than the small space where the screws are, so you can position knives anywhere along its length, including right up to the edges. It was easy to hang. I used my own hanging hardware (I felt better using longer screws and metal anchors instead of the plastic ones it came with), and after reading other reviews, decided not to hammer the wood plugs in all the way, so I could get them out later if I need to (not leaving this behind if I move!) All in all, I am extremely pleased with this knife rack, and if I had more places to put them, I would buy more.

Excellent craftsmanship + details
Excellent craftsmanship. Hard wood, looks like photo, magnet just the right strength to hold securely without sticking. I noticed that the makers took the extra step of adding small magnets on the outsides of the screw holes so the magnetism goes all the way to the edge of the board (see photos). Very thoughtful feature that gives you an added 1.5 inches of usefulness on each end. Also comes with wood plugs for the screw holes for a cleaner finish. 10/10 would recommend. Note: I got the 20 inch model. A few more bucks but well worth it imo - holds all my knives and metal utensils.

Easy to install and frees up a bunch of room
I used to have an ugly knife block that took up too much room, so I decided to get a magnetic knife strip. I've read that the cheaper metal ones scratch and dull knives, so I went with a wooden one. This company offers different types (colors) of wood to match your decor. The item arrived in a timely manner and well packaged. Included were screws and drywall anchors. It even smelled good out of the package. It took me all of 15 minutes to install (I have a drill and a torpedo level). Really easy and straightforward installation. The strip itself holds my knives very securely and frees up a bunch of counter space that my old knife block used to take up. The strip works extremely well throughout the length of the product.

Works like a charm
I love these holders. They hold a lot without any issues. My knives are Pampered chef (would not recommend) and are fairly heavy. As you can see these holders have no issue holding them. The problem I find is most of the items other than knives are NOT metal and will not stick to magnet (spoons, choppers, peelers) (they are "chrome plated junk). I also found some spoons or if your knives have a LIP ON THE HANDLE..some do to protect the hands, this will NOT work for you. The wood is fairly thin and will not allow much for thickness beyond the blade before you encounter the wall and the magnet won't hold. I wish they were packaged better. The review asks if they are a nice GIFT ITEM. They WOULD BE if it wasn't for the CHEAP CHINA falling apart box. (USELESS for the price of this piece of wood..ya think a nicer box could be had). If you want to REMOVE the contents, toss the box and rebox in a nicer box, sure, NICE GIFT. But to spend this $ and have a really crappy box...NOT A GIFTABLE ITEM. I would recommend this item as the magnets hold very well. I attached to the wall with four 16 lb Command strips. I installed, let sit overnight, then put the knives on. NO ISSUES. BUT when I pull the knives off, I TWIST as not to jar the command strips as the magnetic hold is strong and if I pulled straight out, I'd probably pull the whole thing off the wall. I purchased 4 two 18" and two 20" HOWEVER, the boxes weren't marked clearly and I thought I ordered all one size, so didn't pay attention when I installed...so ended up using only two as I messed that up. (I'll use the other two at camp). SO again, BOXING, PACKAGING, needs to be nicer. (Plus READING the items before install would have helped me...LOL) Nice product, beautiful.

Ships w/ screws, but I mounted on tile with double-side tape
I used 3M VHB .75inch double-sided tape to mount on square kitchen tiles. There is a long slot in back, roughly 1/3 of the total width (which is 1.75inches), nearly the full length, so I used narrow (.75inch) tape above and below that. But I think 1.5inch tape would have worked just as well. I choose 18inches long in case I needed to mount on studs (typically separated by 16inches), but the tape is plenty strong on tile.

Substantial, attractive, excellent value
Very heavy duty and attractive. Installed in drywall by necessity. The hardware is thick anchors and long screws. The anchors have a pointed "X" at the end for piercing, so I made a starter tiny nail hole to ensure that the anchor went in straight. At one end, the screw is a bit loose, but I attribute that to the terrible construction of this 1964 house. Knives remove very easily by gently twisting slightly and lifting up. There is zero play in the attachment aspect - rock solid to the wall. The bar itself is beautiful wood and substantial. Clearly, this is a company which takes great pride in their work. I bought the 36" and it holds 12+ knives and a scissors. Outstanding.

Favorite thing about my new house
We just bought a new house and have been decorating and adding personal touches. Every time someone comes to visit, I tell them that my favorite thing about the house, by far, is the magnetic knife bar! We installed it on a wall between the pantry door and the stove. Not only is it amazingly functional (currently holds 8 knives and a pair of scissors), but it looks like art. I can't count how many times I've needed to use the scissors and it is so great to have them right there, easy to reach, without having to open a drawer. Comes in handy when my hands are dirty or gunky.

Does hold even the heaviest of knives or scissors
Great quality, great build, does its job just the way you want. The magnet goes all the way until quite near the end on each side. It is a pleasure to use. You can feel that the knives (or scissors) are safe because they don't slide even the slightest bit, but it's still comfortable to pull them off with your hand. With just a bit of practice you can even throw the knife in the right way and it will safely catch and hold. Excellent for saving space in your drawers, not to mention also protecting your fingers from accidents, and protecting the blades from damage from hitting other utensils.
