Great seat!
My child loves it and we love the peace of mind!

Probably a Good Choice
Installation of any good car seat is a chore these days so I doubt this one is worse than others. The release button to loosen the child’s restraining belts is a bit difficult to operate but all in all, the seat seems sturdy and comfortable to my grandson (3 years).

Good product
I had to read the manual a lot of times to ensure I was securing the seat right according to my kids weight. After some time I have gotten use to it; however I wish the price was not so expensive!

Its pretty big
Great seat, daughter is very happy in it and sleeps fine. It is rather large in the reverse facing position even in our SUV.

Safety for child
Very well built. I have two of these. The other one is for grandparents car.

Demands LOTS of space for full recline
First, I will say I have owned a total of four Graco 4Ever car seats. I truly do love them. They are safe and fall at a fair price point, even as you go up in premium features. This is my first DLX and the biggest drawback is easily the size. I have an SUV with third row - I MUST put this seat behind me to be able to fully recline it for use with a new infant or it won't fit! I am short - 5'2", so I sit closest to the dash. It does NOT fit in the middle of my Sorento if anyone else is in the front seat that is taller than me (unless they want their knees in the dashboard). I was really bummed by that because I would much rather have my infant in the middle. If I put it on the second recline setting, it is still tight, but not until the 3rd will it fit in the middle with my partner in the passenger seat. It is also so wide that if I put it in the middle, it blocks my daughter's buckles for her booster! This irks me a lot, because now she has to sit behind the passenger seat, which means my other kids are either crawling in through the trunk, or we're constantly moving a booster seat out of the way to fold her seat so they can sit in the back. :-/ Whomp, whomp. If size is not an issue for you, keep reading for the reasons I actually will keep (and love) this seat. LATCH system - While installing, I basically sit in the seat myself to get it as close to the truck seat as possible so I can tighten the belts down. Not only was the latch long enough for my oddly-space SUV tethers, there is basically a ratchet system included so you can really make sure your seat is in there nice and tight. This is most definitely the most secure I have ever felt installing a car seat by myself! I also found the quick release very handy after getting the tethers down that far! There is NO perceptible wiggle forward or backward, let alone side to side. Fabric - It feels REALLY supportive and plush. It doesn't feel like the baby is going to be thumping against hard plastic and possibly smacking around in a super hard shell. The padding feels really nice, though I can't speak to heat-retention yet as our warmest days have only been in the upper 50's to low 60's. Height & belt adjustment - the head rest now moves up in 10 notches with just the pull of a handle on top of the car seat. You don't have to fiddle with the back of the seat and taking half of it apart to make an adjustment as the straps go right along with it. This is even better when you're not totally sure which setting to use because you can easily go back and forth to compare the fit without having to re-thread the belts each time. Removable Cover - YESSSS!!! Diaper explosion? Snack disaster? The cover literally snaps off in a few seconds, without even being uninstall from the car so you can wash it and get it back together in the event of any mess. I got it all the way off and back on, first try, in under 5 minutes. It was SUPER easy! Price - At $300, it is comparable to many of the premium brands while holding its own in safety. It doesn't feel like a compromise when you pick it up - it's definitely a sturdy, well-made seat.

Excellent convertible car seat!
We have the Graco 4Ever Extend2Fit for our 13 month old that stays in my car (Tahoe) and it's been great. We have a new baby due in a few months and will be needing another convertible car seat, so I jumped at the chance to try this one. It pretty much looks and functions the exact same way as our current one (minus the Extend2Fit part, but my son is 13 months old, at the top of the charts for height, and we haven't needed to use that feature yet). One thing I did not know about this car seat when ordering that my husband is stupid excited about is the EZ Tight Latch system. Our current seat has the Inright Latch System, and he said the EZ Tight Latch system on the platinum edition is a game changer. I'm not the one that ever puts the car seats in (I don't feel like I'm heavy or strong enough to make sure it's latched tight enough), but he said this new latch system is SO MUCH EASIER and will make installation a breeze. Can't wait for baby girl to get here and try it out. Will update if we have any issues, but I doubt it ;)

Premium Level of Adjustments and Padding
I do like this DLX Platinum version of the 4Ever line by Graco. It has a very premium fabric on it that stays cleaner and is easier to clean when needed. It is soft and cushioning but also stain resistant. There will inevitably be spills that go into the lowest portions of the seat. It is good that it traps a lot of it instead of letting it all go under the seat. I limit the amount of liquids allowed while driving and try to use spill proof bottles. Still it is good that the seat padding comes apart for cleaning as needed without too much effort and disassembly. I really like the way this seat can grow with your child. It has a large amount of adjustability whether thru removable inserts or manual adjustments. The latch system works great with any modern car that has latch points. Being able to take this seat all the way to a booster seat is great. It is one of the best car seats I have seen as far as adjustability and premium quality. 5 stars for such.

Good seat, rated high/safe
In general, we've always used Britax or Diono because they have steel frames and allow for either rear-tethering or have a rebound bar. Some studies have recently come out that the narrow Diono Radian (which is good to fit three across in a back seat) is less ideal in a side impact because the seat is so narrow and does not have adequate side protection. (You can read the Wirecutter carseat review on convertible car seats if you want to google it). I like the small footprint of Diono and the rebound bar with Britax, but now that Graco also has steel frames, I think it is in the running. Pros -Steel frame -Lighter than Britax -Cheaper than Britax -Two cup holders -Has those clicky latch things rather than the J hook (the hooks are on the cheaper version of this Graco seat, but this version has the clicky ones which are so much easier to deal with) -Can use from infant to booster seat although it seems kind of bulky for a booster seat for me. Britax does not convert to booster. Diono does. -Can wash the cover -Higher height limit than britax Cons -Wider than Britax and Diono which can matter if you are trying to fit multiple children in car or you have a small car -There is no rebound bar available which helps when child is rear-facing -Does not come with the ClickTight system like Britax which makes installation so much easier. -65 lbs forward facing weight limit which is lower than Diono Radian which also converts to a booster. -Only rear-face to 40lbs Diono is to 45. Britax is also 40. Overall, I prefer Britax because of the rebound bar which is helpful for safety when babies are the littlest and I also really prefer the clicktight installation option. That said, getting this seat is going to save money because it is a cheaper seat and you won't have to buy a booster seat. Realize that installation is where a lot of seats go wrong so make sure if you get this seat you are prepared to understand how to install correctly, which isn't the easiest thing ever.

The Only Car Seat You Will Ever Need
We have several vehicles, and car seats in each one. As far as what I drive the most, this is the car seat that I use for it. It's simply perfect. The bubble in the level on the side lets you immediately know if you've got the seat in the correct position. From there, it's pretty easy to get it harnessed in. I just pull the little slack button out, give the shoulder straps a light tug, and then I've got it ready for my Little One. She goes in easy, and it's effortless to get her clipped in. Stick my hand under the chest harness clip to make sure there's the right amount of space. There are two nice-size cup holders that can hold any variety of sizes in her usual sippy cups. Although she's guilty of just using them to stow away little snacks, or small stuff animals. She's in a good, comfortable position in the seat. And we're really happy with all of the safety features with this particular car seat. I'm hoping, as would any parent reading this, that we will never have to put the safety features to the test. Graco is a name I trust, along with most parents. This is simply a sturdy, dependable, beautiful car seat. And it will last us for years to come. So we wholeheartedly recommend this particular brand and model.
