First night catch....with a interesting twist...5 stars.
The Amazon delivery person left the rat trap package as I requested perfectly, thank you... I understand this unit is not intended for outdoors where it may get wet.. I read the instructions for the unit and set it up outside as it was not supposed to rain. Put a small dab of peanut butter in the bait area.. I set the unit up and it was ready to go........on it's first day...at about 4 PM... Also put some heavy bricks around the unit and funneled them towards the entrance so as to aim a rat into the opening of the trap.. I had also used the included indicating blue LED light to show if the trap had caught something....it blinks blue light after a catch has happened..very helpful. I have high resolution IP video cameras which can view the trap... I got up early in the next morning , around 2 AM , and could see that the blue LED light was on and blinking which indicates a catch.... So, I went to view the trap and saw that the trap was empty and the peanut butter was untouched. Of course , I thought the trap unit had false triggered...But..!!! No,,,...............It did not false trigger... It did indeed work properly. When I played back the video recording of the event , a big rat went into the trap. And after about 10 minutes a huge raccoon discovered the dead rat in the trap and pulled the rat out of the trap then put it into it's mouth and carried it away... So I thought to share this event. Perhaps I will write another review later on if needed because this all happened within a 10 hours time span just after setting it up for the first time.. Time will tell... P.S. I did not use batteries at this time , only the power supply which came with the unit. The unit can operate on 4 D size batteries if needed... hopefully this helps someone...

Plug it in and watch it work!
I don't usually write reviews, but I had to comment on this one. I have tried for years to get rid of the the squirrels without having to hit them with a pellet gun. I have used pie tins, squirrel repellant, sonic sensors, etc. I have never been so amazed in my life. On day one I put a little peanut butter in the little square tray and set it up against the house, plugged in the little sensor cord and stuck it to the window. Plugged power cord in and turned it on. Day # 1 went down stairs and noticed the sensor light in the window was flashing blue, Took a quick look, and wow! a tail hanging out the back. Yep, 1st squirrel within 24 hours!! day 2 no luck. Day 3 another squirrel! Day 4 a Big Rat, and low and behold Day 5 another squirrel. I am totally amazed by this product. The nice thing is instead of watching them flop around after you shoot them, this is so quick they don't even know they been zapped with 7000 volts. This is the most humane way to rid your yard of those pesky critters. Love this product and I get to enjoy all of my peaches and tomatoes this Year!!! Thanks and GREAT product!

Works, first try, seems well made!
Ordered one of these to try it, received it Saturday on time. I live next to woods and a pasture so its somewhat like the "wild kingdom". I set it before I went to work that night, using a small piece of W*lm*rts brand of vanilla sandwich creme coookie. This works excellent, it is a sure thing as far as bait! It's sweet, they can smell them and they like them. When I came back home next morning I heard the beep... Yaayy! I put some disposable gloves on, shut it off & unplugged the AC cord and indicator light then disposed of him. I wiped the inside with a Lysol wipe then made sure to wipe it dry with a paper towel. I set it again just in case, using a chocolate flavored creme this time, will see what happens in the morning. Hope the Ebung lasts longer than the smaller Victor brand used for mice. Will use it for a few months and if it keeps on working I will order more. The larger size is better, it does seem very well made.

Works Easily and Humanly
The product is expensive, yet is well designed, built, and effective. I've used batteries to electrify it. One set, of four batteries, has caught a total of 6 animals including rats and marsh rabbits. Removal is easy, reset is easy, baiting is easy. The item is heavy, as it should be, with the switch at the back, less prone to light rain. I would like another one.

Awesome trap!!! Well worth it!
Great trap, I highly recommend them! At first I wasn’t sure if I should get these because of the cost. But after reading other reviews and thinking about the potential damage cost rats can do I decided to give it a try, plus the traditional traps are a pain and don’t always work effectively. SOOO glad I ordered it. First night I got one, then another 3 nights later. Super easy to bait, empty and clean. I’ve ordered 2 more as these things work better than anything else and are humane, just a quick zap and you’re done. Well worth the cost knowing I’ve gotten the rats!

I'm impressed! Most humane way to remedy a rodent problem.
Discovered we had critters in our new home. My cats managed to catch 3 mice, but then we found a critter of a larger species. I freaked and called an exterminator. The exterminator in our major metro city wasn't available for TWO weeks. I figured it would be costly and likely require snap traps or poison which I'm not a fan of. So, I turned to our beloved Amazon and found I could have this unit delivered SAME DAY! It arrived by 9pm along with the D-cell batteries I'd need since I didn't want to try to run the plug to an outlet. Loaded the little inside tray with peanut butter and some bird seed, set it in the corner under the cabinet where I knew the beast was hiding, and waited. The red light blinked every 10 seconds reassuring me that it was on and ready. Later the next morning I arrived home to a not-terribly-irritating binging sound. The light on the unit was flashing green. I peeked inside, and there was a little guy of the smaller species. Knowing how smart rats are, I wondered if it knew about the demise of the little one and correlated it to the smell of peanut butter. So, I headed over to my big box hardware store and stumbled upon Tomcat rat bait--some sort of gel that claims to be more effective than peanut butter. Picked it up for $5, put it in the little tray in the Zapperator 3000 (my pet name for the unit), and by 9pm we had that large beast caught and zapped. I do have compassion for those fellas which is why I wanted something that wasn't cruel. But they carry diseases, which is why I don't want to co-habitate with them. Also, RAPTORS are a real thing, and they are dying because they are eating poisoned rodents. So the Zapperator 3000 does the necessary job in the best way possible. TIP: Someone suggested to me that I wear gloves when handling the unit so that human scent isn't all over it. Made sense to me. I wiped it down outside and in with a soapy solution before and after each use wearing gloves. Also, make sure you set it up so pets and kids can't stick paws, noses, fingers inside. I put a potted plant next to it. BONUS: the clean kill keeps the body in tact and I let my kid put on gloves and see what a rat looks like up close. Good luck!

It works
Using it in a horse barn. There is a lot of food so it took a little while to figure out where it should go. After about 4 days we found the right spot for trap. Effective and easy to use. Flashing green light and audible alarm when trap has been triggered.

kills what is supposed to
We got it because we saw a pack rat go by on the pool deck one night. We installed it behind our hose rack and added some small dog food with peanut butter. That night we caught the big pack rat. It turns out he had family and friends. We caught 3 pack rats and 4 mice in 6 days. Since then, we have found no evidence, nor have we caught anything. It did the job we bought it for. The only negative would be It sucks a fair bit of battery power if you use the batteries. They don't last as long as you would think if they are getting lots of traffic; after all our did get some use. Use the power if possible, but batteries work well, you just need to change them frequently if you are getting a lot of kills.

Rats don't stand a chance
I keep catching rats in here! Haven't had to re-apply the peanut butter yet, they never get that far.... Great product and very easy to use.

We have the Roof Rats . This Killed the First night - 1 dead ....? to go I did find where I think they were coming in and plugged up that entrance after I got the Trap. I didn't want to plug it up till I got the trap or they may chew out another opening . When I went to reset the trap, with peanut butter on a piece of toilet paper roll, after setting it was shorting out (Buzzing sound) when I looked inside I could see up by the bait an electrical arc. Looking closer when taken apart , the Kill had a nose bleed up by the bait and it was shorting out between the two plates Took some rubbing alcohol and washed the blood off , reset and it is working again.
