A weed- and grass-trimming beast that is my new best friend
I’ve been on the lookout for a few years now for a weed-whacking beast, and this machine fits the bill … I absolutely love it! We’ve got a pretty sizeable yard, and after using this trimmer for twenty to twenty-five minutes I had all the annoying, scraggly grass that grows alongside the perimeter of everything chopped down with a vengeance, as if it never existed. Along fences, alongside our tool shed, next to the basketball hoop—anywhere and everywhere on our property, grass and weeds were history after this Craftsman power tool did its thing. And a surprising benefit of this power tool is that it serves awesomely as an edger for grass alongside sidewalks and the driveway. I will never again use our sluggish edger to do that taxing chore; the laborious, sporadically working one sitting in our shed is history. This product is lightweight and easy to handle and use, and the only assembly required is screwing on the guard in front. The twenty-volt lithium-ion rechargeable battery provides plenty of long-lasting power and stays charged from week to week, at least so far. (Obviously I’ll have to recharge the battery at some point, and doing so is simple.) Additionally, the high-power battery is easy to insert and take out at the top of the trimmer. Much to my shock, I found that I was using this trimmer in “Low” mode the first time I used it, a setting that is plenty powerful enough. The following week I switched it to “High” and was further astounded. I’m just so thrilled to have such a finely made, easy-to-use machine that takes care of a problem in my yard that’s been festering for years. Also, I can’t imagine using a corded trimmer since a battery-operated one like this machine is so easy to use. I wouldn’t want to trip over a cord or worry about having to keep it plugged in all the time from far distances. A few tips: I would definitely recommend wearing protective eye gear when using this trimmer since debris can and will fly upward toward your face. Also, the wire edge guide that folds downward on the front of the trimmer is pretty invaluable. I wasn’t sure at first how this seemingly inconsequential part might help, but it’s a nice contraption for keeping the trimmer from getting too close to solid objects such as fences or concrete alongside the house. I haven’t yet tested out the line-advance feed button, but I’m sure it will work just fine. One thing I can say about the 13-inch line is that it is very durable and should last for many cuttings throughout the spring and summer seasons. My guess is that the spool won’t have to be replaced too often. I’ll let potential buyers of this product look at the specs and read other reviews to get a feel for what it’s like. My analysis is that this trimmer is an awesome, heavy-duty item that is ideal for large yards where vegetation and grass can go haywire. This weekend-mowing guy has found a new best friend.

Works great for the average suburban yard.
I bought a gas string trimmer years ago and have hated it ever since. I really thought I would like it but for me it was always so hard to start as I just don't get the whole pump thing. I was very excited to try this cordless trimmer. It's so much nicer when all you have to do is press a button and then hold something down to trim. It's very easy to learn how to use this and I'm sure you'll have it down in a matter of minutes as I did. This has some pretty neat features but a couple that I really like. first I love being able to push a button to advance the line. You don't have to bang it on the concrete or flip it over and try to yank some more line out. The second is the ability to adjust both the length and the placement of the handle. You can maneuver this into a position that balances just right for you. My spouse and I are of very different heights so this easy to adjust by just flipping a lever and setting it to where you need it. I like the edger guard as well but this does take a little getting used to. I tried to do my driveway with it but ended up with some pretty gnarly looking lines. I've decided this is much better for just getting around the rock border in the front of the flower beds. It's light enough for both sexes and happily my teenage son. This may not be the strongest but it does have a high and low setting and it's perfect for an average suburban yard.

Tough, Light, Feature Packed
As you can see in the photos, the ivy was thick along this staircase. I had a full battery and started at the top on one side, worked my way down and up the other side. Not once did my arms feel tired from the trimmer being too heavy. The battery was on high the whole time and never flinched. The security feature is something to get used to, pressing one button and then pulling the trigger to get it going. Once you get used to it (fast) you'll really enjoy using this weed eater. It tore through some pretty thick ivy. The auto string release works where you press it and it pushes out and stops for a second, but goes right back to full and keeps on going. The expandable trimmer makes it easy for my 5'11" height and is really super light weight. The single string cutter is fine, because it's less to deal with than the two string where you have to cross it over when you load. This is much easier and works just as well. A great deal, along with the charger and battery.

Received today, charged and used - great trimmer!!
I've always used a gas trimmer that recently died. Decided on this battery charged after reading the reviews and it having a bit heavier string compared to some of the other trimmers in the same price range. Received in 2 days (today), charged the battery (about 6 hours), read the manual briefly, attached the shield - ready to go. Trimmed and edged my entire property (about 1/4 acre with sidewalks and a long driveway) on the same charge - worked great, better than my old gas trimmer. Has 2 speeds, used lower which was more than enough. Seems very well made, highly recommend. Used again today, second time. It is now a pleasure to edge/trim and no more gas smelling clothes, highly recommend this trimmer!!

1 awesome trimmer
This is the best weed eater I've ever used. I have 2 3/4 acres alot of tree and landscaping, it usually takes me at least an hour or so to do with a gas trimmer, because of all the problems you get with gas trimmers, but with this trimmer I was done in half the time. Extremely easy to use and low speed cut through everything I did no problem. But what I was most impressed with was the battery life, I did all that trimming and still had juice and also used very little trimmer line. If your wondering if this worth the money take my word for it I owned only gas trimmers but never again this thing is a beast.get one you won't regret it.

Works Well
I have 4 string trimmers at this time, 2 electrics and 2 gas. I'm sure I'm not alone with these numbers. The battery powered string trimmers have improved greatly and I'm happy to just push a button and they work. As I write this review, I am comparing the trimmers in my mind. The Craftsman is by far the easiest to use and I don't have to wear myself out trying to start it. I have no gas mixture to deal with. The Craftsman is fairly light in weight. This trimmer is the longest of the four trimmers and the handle adjusts quickly. At 6'2", this means a lot. It is very well balanced and I don't have to bend over to use it. I like the button system to let out more string. It works very well, though it seems to let out a little when it is started each time. I have never cared for the trimmer system of bouncing the trimmer on the ground to let out string. As far as power, it is much more powerful than my other battery trimmer, but not quite as powerful as my gas models. I have about an acre of land with only about half of that in grass. It will do the whole area with no problem and even chops off the woody stems of the black raspberries with ease. I like this trimmer and it is the one I go to.
