I never knew how awful my metal compost bin was until I got this beauty! Easy to open with one hand, the bag stays in place, and it's lightweight. Everything that's wrong with the traditional countertop compost bin, this bin solves. Life changing.

I'm so glad I got it. My brother uses it and I decided to try it. It works.

I used to use an ice cream bucket for my compost. When I first got this I thought it was kind of small, but as I have been using it, I can put as much or more in it than I can in an ice cream bucket. No smell. I love it. It looks great on the counter top.

My wife loves this thing! I was able to buy carbon filter sheeting and cut to size to help with cost and a more frequent filter change!

I drink a lot of tea at work and use this to store used tea bags, which I will use for live composting at some point. It looks great on my desk, there are no smells. I bought the matching bags from Joseph Joseph and they fit the container perfectly.

This is the perfect size and easy to use. Exactly as described. I love it! Makes saving coffee and scraps for composting easy and clean. No smell!

Highly recommended!!!

I love this over the counter bin! the waste doesn't stink at all and no flies around it. Sexy addition to the kitchen. The only downside is that not all bags fit because the bin is rectangular.

We've only had this Joseph Joseph 30046 Compo Easy-Fill Compost Bin for less than a week, long enough to only fill it once, but I wanted to get this review posted to show photos of how the lid and collar come off to hold the bag, which the manufacturer's photos never show. We buy 3 gallon / 10 liter BioBags. In the photos, you can see how one lifts off the collar, inserts the bag, and places the collar back down. Part of the BioBag hangs out beyond the collar. Some users might consider this an eyesore but we don't. JosephJoseph sells its own bags that don't extend beyond the collar. We previously used an Endurance stainless steel cylinder with charcoal filters in the lid. The main complaint was always finding enough hands and a place to separately place the lid somewhere before scraping the plates. Also, the neck of the bag would get sucked down into the can during the week and we'd have to pull it back up. This JosephJoseph unit solves both problems by allowing one to flip open the lid with a flick of a finger and then it stays open, and having a collar to secure the bag. Our new JosephJoseph looks much smaller than the old Endurance, so we filled the JJ with water and poured it into the Endurance and found the JJ holds about 90% of what we were used to, so that's good. We live in a city that has weekly curbside pickup of yard waste and all food waste for making compost. We would have liked to have the JJ in the Graphite color that they used to make their other model in. I wrote to them and was told they have no current plans to make this model in Graphite. Edit: after three weeks of use, no complaints. We like it.

My composter has been unused since we no longer have a lawn. This is giving me a chance to try it again with kitchen scraps.
