I have a MacBook Pro, so you basically need a device like this to connect peripherals. I’ve used multiple competing options before including the official Apple HDMI adapter, but I prefer this because of its versatility. You get basically every port you’ll need and in a compact package. No more bag of dongles in my briefcase - just this one. I have a similar device that with HDMI, USB, and ethernet, and it it is only slightly smaller. At this point, I prefer this one even though its slightly larger. It fits in my briefcase pocket fine, and prevents me from carrying other devices (mainly a separate microSD reader) since it is jam packed with every port I could need. Since I travel and have to connect to various projectors, it’s also nice that it has both HDMI and VGA in it. Again, that means fewer dongles to bring along. Absolutely only thing I’d like to change is that not all the USB ports are 3.0. Not really a big issue for me and it’s clear on the product description so I knew it ahead of time, but I’d prefer not to have to think which port I’m using when I’m plugging in my USB SSD

The first time I connected this to power it briefly delivered power and then failed completely. No ports recognized and no power flowing. I returned the hub. I originally rated the hub 1 star. I was contacted by customer support who sent me a free hub to replace the one I returned. That replacement hub is thus far functioning perfectly. I had replaced it by the Vava USB-C Hub (https://www.amazon.com/VAVA-Adapter-Delivery-Ethernet-Laptops-Grey/dp/B079GSMZ7G) so I can compare them. The UtechSmart Hub has an extra USB port which I needed (I have a scanner, a printer, a USB web camera, and a wired kayboard), a VGA port (which I am not currently using), and a headphone port. The headphone port has been extremely useful since without it I have to connect three cables but with it I only need to connect the hub and a second display adapter. The Vava hub is more compact.

I'm using this with a Lenovo c930 computer. I absolutely love this computer, but to create it's small footprint, several ports that I've come to take for granted are now missing ... such as HDMI and more than one standard USB 3 port. This little device adds those missing ports while remaining small enough to travel with (obviously it stays in my backpack while flying). It allows for pass through PD charging which was important as I'm able to capitalize on the other USB C port as needed. I've posted some pics of packing and the device itself. It's very sturdy with metal housing which should allow for good heat dissipation. Setup was as easy as any Hub and never had any issues with video via HDMI to LG Smart TV. I haven't done any speed tests for file transfers via the sd card or the USB, though it seems to be at the least as fast as USB 3.1 on a video file transfer. I'd recommend this to anyone needing more ports and access via their computer and has USB C capabilities.

I bought this USB C Hub because I need more USB ports for my devices. Although I do not have a USB C port in my notebook that I am using right now but I have a plan to buy a new notebook in the near future. So, I decided to buy this USB-C hub to prepare for the new technology that comes with the new generation of notebooks. To use this USB C Hub with my current notebook, I bought a "USB C to USB Adapter". I test everything, every port, and functionalities; it works fine. This is not just a USB hub but also having a LAN port, VGA port, HDMI, SD & MicroSD card readers, Audio Out. This hub is lightweight, sturdy and durable. The metal casing helps heat to dissipate quickly. Looking forward to keeping using this hub with my notebooks: the current one and the new one in the future. I'm happy I made the right decision to buy this product.

As Mac users know, you need a ton of different adaptors to do anything. I debated on getting the 6 in 1 but I didn't want to run into the problem of need another port/connection that I don't have. This USB hub has everything you could need!! I have 3 separate adaptors that I carry for work and and now all I have to carry is this one. I've had this for a few days now and have used about 5 of the 10 ports. The product is study and well made and most importantly USER FRIENDLY! It does not get hot like some other adaptors- which has always been a concern of mine. I love that I am able to use a USB mouse! There's so many other ports I still have to use so I will update accordingly if I run into any issues. As of now, very happy with this product!!

As laptops get thinner, the ports keep disappearing. This product alleviates the lack of ports problem and having to buy different cables for different functions. I have my fair share of seeing or having adaptor/cable case (reminds me of my pencil boxes during the school years) and the horror of forgetting to put back that one adaptor/cable back into the case when packing to travel only to find out at the destination. What I like: Light, works out of the box on my Dell XPS 13, does not appear to be loading some kind of driver for each function (tried all ports to make sure it's working) and more importantly works right the first time. Includes a little bag I guess to reduce scratches. It also charges my android phone using the USB 3.0 port. What I don't like: Hard plastic material which I am not sure would survive a crack from 3ft onto concrete floor. A missing USB C power adapter to provide power (I am assuming I can use it to charge my laptop?) for this price. IF you don't have one and is starting to buy adapters and/or cables, save yourself some hassle and get one of these.

With most ports you would want all in one place and running off a USB-C connection it is hard to go wrong. The hub seems well built and even has rubber buffers at either end of the short cable which would normally be the stress points. Little things like that show some attention to detail. All the ports are well laid out and labeled which again just shows some attention to detail. The VGA port is a nice extra as my laptop is only HDMI out and often you find yourself in a conference room with only VGA so I need to carry a separate dongle for that. This hub gives me that and more. It has 4 USB connection 2 x 2.0 and 2 x 3.0. I put 2 2TB flash drives into the 2.0 and 3.0 at the same time and a 64 GB SD card into the available slot all at the same time and was easily and quickly able to move files between any of them and the laptop. The hub does have a power connection or can run off the laptop power. It is a Type C power port so you can use any kind of power source that will run through USB C. I also ran the hub through a Type C to Type A connector into my laptop. All of the USB and SD slots worked fine, however, the Ethernet would not communicate with my laptop. I got the green power light, but no recognition that it was there. I am fairly sure this was due to the adapter. Though a high-quality adapter, often there are specific data issues. I just ordered a different adapter and will try it again when it arrives and update the review if there is any difference. Overall, a quality product that puts a lot of capability into one place and even comes with a nice travel bag.

Ok, if you are like a lot of people, you probably use your phone for everything you do. And then somebody hands you a microSD card and asks you to look at the pictures. Too bad you are nowhere near a computer. WAIT! This little thing does it all - AND it plugs right into your USB-C port on your phone! Plugging this into my phone, I was able to quickly access thumb drives, SD cards, and more. I even hooked up a monitor to see if that part worked. It is fast, light, very easy to use, well built, (have I mentioned fast?) and even comes with a handy-dandy little soft case to keep it looking nice for years to come. If you are one of those people that use their phone for everything, get this. It is worth every penny.

This is a great little hub. It is actually more than just a USB hub. It has a port for HDMI 4K, VGA, a port for gigabit ethernet, and four USB ports plus memory card ports (one regular one microSD) and a 3.5mm audio/mic port. USB data transfer across the hub is very fast, faster than most of my USB devices that claim to be USB3. It is not going to be a bottle neck. It also works great if you just need to charge something in a USB port. Perfect for moving data from device to device. You plug it into the USB-C port on your computer. I have found it very convenient. Mainly because I can simply keep everything plugged into the hub/adapter. Then, when I get home with my laptop I just plug in the one USB-C cable and I am connected to everything in one simple step. Plug and play, no setup required. The hub/adapter comes a soft storage/transport bag that's nice to keep the dirt out. It seems very well made and durable. I will try and update this on the durability later. Overall, 5 stars, must have. Considering a second one for on the go. My favorite hub yet.
