Surprising little box
I was very happily surprised at the quality of this unit. We use it to watch movies outdoors and it fits the bill perfectly. The projector itself is very compact so it takes up very little room. The speaker is decent so if you don't have speakers available, you can get by with the onboard one. The projector is is bright and detailed. The image is detailed and evenly bright across the screen. You can see in the picture it wasn't even fully dark yet and the picture looks good. Setting it up is very simple and fast. I just turned it on, plugged in the hdmi cable and selected my source from the buttons on the top of the projector. Done. My only suggestion is more keystone adjustment. The ring supplied is a little limited in range.

it is easy to be installed, working better than expected.

so far I'm pretty impressed with this projector
I must say, so far I'm pretty impressed with this projector. This DOES NOT come with the needed cables to hook up to a phone. I knew this beforehand and purchased a lightning (for iPhone) digital HDTV AV cable adapter. Netflix and Amazon Video were not playing; I had audio but no video. After some choice cuss words and temper tantrums I realized trying to play movies through data or wifi was terrible. (I have Sprint so that could be why!) I decided to download a movie and try that and low and behold it played perfectly. The initial set up was very simple. I've had a lot of experience with audio/visual products, but even for a newb, I'd say connecting should be very simple. I read some reviews about the projector audio not being very loud. I personally thought it was loud; however I was indoors with no noise. If you're outside or there are a lot of people around you will more than likely need a speaker. I don't have another projector to compare but I feel this one is pretty darn bright. I set everything up in my living room with natural light peaking through and I could easily see the picture and adjust settings. That being said, I haven't tried this at night yet. I do feel that it will be plenty bright enough though. I only had it plugged in for a minute or two and could already feel the heat coming off this thing. I will obviously keep it on a tripod or desktop to prevent a fire. (I initially had it on the carpet.) It's a great size, lightweight. Will easily be able to haul this around for movie nights.

Very nice picture for the price - just beware it doesn't play Netflix.
Originally I gave this one star b/c the primary digital media I use is Netflix - but my movies wouldn't play when hooked up to the projector. Turns out the projector wasn't broken - the product simply does not have the license to project movies from that source. We did try a thumb drive as well when we couldn't get Netflix to work, and the projector picture looked very good for the price. I told the seller I would update my review if they updated their description to call out that they couldn't play Netflix...which they did.

Pretty darn good.
Honestly, this is the best $50 projector I have ever seen. Is it perfect? No, but it’s pretty darn good. You get way more than what you pay for.

Love this DBPOWER mini projector!
Bought this projector for an outdoor movie screening event in my backyard. I couldn't have been more pleased with the picture quality, brightness and the sound (although I did decide to hook up my in-home surround sound system/blu ray player to it, which was super easy). I've since connected my Ruko stick with the provided HDMI cable and streamed Netflix through the projector, attached my JBL bluetooth speaker with an AUX cable, and even used the HDMI to connect my MacBook so we could watch old home movies and flip through photos through the projector. One of the best purchases I've made in years. Love this DBPOWER mini projector.

Way better than I expected for the price.
I think it goes without saying that this is not a top of the line, $1000 projector, and I did not expect it to be. I mostly bought this as a toy, something for me to project my fantasy football scores on the wall next to my TV so I could see both at the same time. Not only does it work, but actually, it's much better than I thought it would be. The iPhone screen sharing really does work, the build quality seems good, the brightness is good enough for a dim room (though it looks amazing in the dark). My only caveats are: 1. the focus is fiddly, you'll have to have a steady hand to get it just right; 2. The fixed length, wide angle lens makes the throw distance really short-- if you want a smaller image, you'll need to move the projector closer to the screen/wall/whatever than you might like to; 3. I wish it were a little brighter, but again, I didn't expect top of the line performance for this price. An added plus-- my kids love it. They like to see all their favorite phone apps up on the wall blown up to be huge. The simple colors and graphics look stellar on this thing. I also use a star map app with the projector and put the night sky up on my daughter's ceiling at bedtime; it's not something you could leave running because of the noise and heat, but it's a fun division for the kids. I feel like I've already got well more enjoyment out of this than I paid for it.

Whoa! My teenagers said it was the most fun we'd had as a family.
I can't believe how much fun having a projector at home is! All of our kids (ages 7 to 25) absolutely had a blast. They are all begging to watch another movie tonight. Think we'll try it inside tonight. For the screen we chose the one by Kandoona (https://amzn.to/2w4vgVm) because it was the only one we found that had the 16 grommets. Really did the trick! The projector and screen were both really easy to set up. We'll be doing a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings marathon with some local teens next. I am going to try to leave a video on this page if I can figure it out, lol.

Excellent quality projector at a great price!
If you are looking for your first projector the DBPOWER Mini Projector is a great buy for it's price. It comes with some features and connections that you may find on higher priced projectors. It includes an easy to use simple remote control, audio/video port with a/v cable to Audio Jack which can be used to connect a Blu-ray player or other audio video devices, USB input and a 5 volt output slot, full size HDMI port, SD card slot, VGA connector port (PC-RGB), earphone slot that can be used to connect an external speaker via audio jack cable, and the power cable. The projector also comes with a 12 month warranty that requires registration with the Amazon order number. Overall the projector is a great buy for my first projector. It displays a relatively good picture for it's price and includes a keystone adjuster and focus dial knobs to help provide the user with a better viewing experience. The projector also mirrors the remote with physical buttons Incorporated on top of the projector, which is good in case you lose the remote. I do recommend using external speakers because the built in speakers are not too loud when used outdoors, especially it you have a lot of background noise. The projector has a very easy to use main menu that allows you to choose your source, adjust video and sound options, and other settings. The projector also supports MHL and iPush connections which can be used to connect mobile devices and tablets. The resolution can go as high as 1680x1050. It also has multi-language support, and supports NTSC and Pal video formats. I found the movie that my family watched to actually have a very good image for a projector priced so low. The viewing size can actually be a large as 176", however we had to use a white sheet which only allowed us to display at about 90". I will be buying a projector screen to provide a better viewing experience. Overall, I think the DBPOWER Mini Projector is a very good buy, with a lot of easy to use features and numerous ways to connect multiple devices. So if you are looking for a budget conscious projector that's easy to setup ( 2-5 minutes), I strongly recommend this model. Lastly, after using the projector for over two hours it was still fairly cool to the touch and the 50,000 hour lamp life means that my family will be enjoying this projector for many years.

Perfect for Projecting Artwork for Tracing
I create original art t-shirts from highly-detailed ink drawings on paper and/or line images I've created in Photoshop, and which I've uploaded to SD card or USB. It projects a sharp image for me to trace over it and onto the t-shirt or other surface. I've attached an image of an example t-shirt that I made using this projector. Along with SD ad USB ports there's an HDMI, and you can connect your phone to it directly, you just need an adapter to HDMI. But for my purposes, SD or USB is just fine. The other is for people who want to watch movies. I do that with my TV, and I don't need a constant source of entertainment, especially when I'm creating stuff. Simple to use. Has a lens cover, a focus roller, and a slider for projector angle correction. It's got other features such as Slide Show but that's not helpful for me and the purposes for which I use it. It's a really good art projector at a reasonable price. If you buy something for $25, expect a cheap-looking picture. But you might be surprised at how sharp the image is for right at (at least currently) $100. If you want to know how good it is for movies, I'm sure there are numerous reviews to which you may refer.
