A great tool, but it won't work without taking off the case on most phones. Because the slot on most cases is only made for a cable, the wide body on the microUSB side won't fit without removing the case.

Had my doubts about this working. However, I inserted a Kingston 8GB micro sd card into an SD adapter, copied an m4v movie from my PC USB slot, inserted into Galaxy S7 Edge and the movie played fine. I also tried it on an older Droid Mini running Android 4.4....also worked fine (VLC player). Main purpose here was getting pictures from phone onto a tablet I use as a travel computer. Also from a digital camera onto same. I prefer to use the micro sd inside an SD adapter in camera as then I can go either way (micro or normal) copying files over. I had no doubt this would work in a full sized USB 2 port, but the fact that it works on both Android N and Android Kit Kat was unexpected. No drivers required...plug in and was recognized in file manager (or "My Files" in newer Android). This thing will go into travel bag for sure. Watch movies on plane, copy and upload pictures from dedicated camera to cloud while on road. From experience, don't rely on your camera SD card to store a lot of pictures, video etc until you get home. It's usually fine, but if it corrupts, you lose at least some, maybe all. Copy them and even upload to cloud as you go.

I use this to transfer files from our Nikon camera memory chips to our computer USB port. Although the cameras came with USB cables to transfer photo files, the transfers and link up times can be excruciatingly slow, especially on the S220 camera. By plugging the memory chip into the adapter and the adapter into the USB port, transfer rates seem at least tripled for my P90 and 10X faster for the S220 running the exact same Nikon supplied software.

An exellent SD/Micro SD card reader at a great price. The USB 3.0 and USB-C connectors make it an extremely versatile card reader with data transfer rates only limited by the read/write speed of the SD/Micro SD card itself, and it could not be easier to use. Just insert the SD/Micro SD card in the reader then plug the reader into your computer with either USB connector where it's instantly recognized, no set up required (the USB 3.0 connector will work with a standard USB 2.0 port but without the higher speed of USB 3.0). My initial transfer of approximately 45GB of data from my laptop to the Micro SD are from my phone was simple and completely error free. I did not rate it for durability as I've only had it for a couple of days. If any issues arise I'll update this review

I purchased these to view dashcam files on our smartphones. We have 3 cars with dashcams and keep these (with adapter cables) in the gloveboxes. When used with usb to type c cable, we can view the dashcam files on our android smartphones. Put the micro sd card in, open the usb storage on the smartphone and play the files. You can also transfer the dashcam files to your smartphone. It is also PC compatible. Note, Does not work with I-phones Type-C sdapter cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077FD3VG4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you are a photography buff or drone pilot you need one of these. When I am out flying and I want to review photos or videos I can plug this into my phone or tablet and then insert the Micro SD card into the card reader and instantly view the photos or videos. The other side has a standard SD card slot so I can use it with my DSLR SD card and not have to depend on the screen on the back of the camera.

I use this to review game camera files in the field. Plug and play easy, nothing to install, just plug the card into the reader and the reader into the phone. My Galaxy s5 auto brings up a file menu to review and manipulate with no fuss. Could not be more pleased!

No connection between your camera and phone? Pictures I took on my good camera on the SD card moved over to my phone and Facebook in a minute! No internet connection for my laptop? Get what I need on my phone, plug in the USB card reader to the phone and copy what I need to the SD card and then the laptop!

This is a very handy tool to have it you hunt. I keep it in my truck at all times. I use it to check trail cameras with my tablet or phone. It saves me from having to lug a laptop around or buying a more expensive single purpose tool.

This is a great gadget. I bought it for my dad to look at his trail cam pictures and it works exactly as it is described! The best part is I got it so he could view it on the computer but it also works on his TV and this is even easier! Plus he has now discovered he can look at his phone picts on the television and this is super fun at family gatherings. It works even better than I thought it could and it is easy enough my 80 year dad can use it!
