Economical, quality solution for my small studio problem.

Hi have home recording studio, and make videos for Youtube. These are precisely what I need.

Solid

While these won't replace large studio monitors, they sound decent for their size. A little heavier then I expected but the build is solid which makes them great for a throw-in-the-car travel speakers. The only minor downside for me is having to use old-school speaker cable to connect the two speakers, would prefer 1/4" but not a major issue.

Amazing bang for your buck!!! Definite buy!!!

The sound is very well balanced and are perfect for small home studios. They are loud enough and provide a nice flat sound profile which makes it easy to get finals mixes mastered. I used my open back Sennheiser HD 598 headphones before but I’ve been using these exclusively since I purchased them.

At the time of my purchase of these 104 JBL, no reviews existed that I could find. I did read the specs, and I determined this is what I want. However, most of the time, the product was sold out on back order. I was in line for a great speaker system for the laptop. I looked at Yamaha but noted some offish reviews. At the time, I went with the Bose speakers and found them not suitable for my needs. The new Bose, when plugged in, seemed a tad dark and muffled, as if clarity were trying hard to define in a crystal way. Long ago, I had the Bose 20 laptop speakers, and they sounded loud, sure, but kind of dead to me. And so, the Bose ended up as a TV set speaker system, and they work grand for that. So, I finally found the JBL 104 here. My big concern was the headphone jack, and yes, these had that. They arrived very securely packed and on time. Unboxed, and noted these were heavy speakers, and attractive as well. I am not great with electronic setup, however, these were rather intuitive and easy. All the high-quality wiring was there. It took me ten minutes without directions. Had one snag. I pushed the power button on the back, off and reexamined the red and black speaker wires that go into each speaker. I made adjustments for I had the leads to the speakers pressed too deeply in the sockets. I power back on, with the button and made sure the power cord was secure in being plugged in. They then worked. I went to YouTube and put on Hendrix, and my oh my, Sound stage was there in spades, the dynamic clarity was there, such presence, and well-defined separation. I then did the loud trick, and they blasted clearly. Next, I plugged in my Seinn headphones, who needs a power amplifier when you have these? The sound again was so dynamic. Now they are set up, look really nice, and I have quality. And I scratched my head thinking, why would I ever have thought to buy run of the mill computer speakers for a hundred, when for fifty more, I have such high quality in these JBL. If these are not in stock, put on back order. You will not be sorry. Blows all Bose I have ever had out of the water easily, for I have had Companion versions through the years, and I have heard Yamaha computer speakers in stores, and these easily outpace them. Classical music also had great sounds in all spectrums. Now, with a review, I do hope you now know more and give these a chance, and I do hope I helped someone out there sitting on a fence with the run of the mill stark choices you have on overhyped and overpriced computer speaker systems. And they have a headphone jack. Bright, crisp, clear, and JBLs are tuff as can be. I have used them in all my guitar amps over many years. These sound wonderful on my computer system.

Great set of monitors, not too bass-y but theres some there. Great price, great power.

Powerful Entry Level Monitors

For $150 these studio monitors are a steal! They're very compact for studio monitors, and perform similar to larger and more expensive $200/$250 pairs (although they certainly are entry level). I belong to the target demographic for this product, a demographic that JBL understands very well. For a bedroom studio, such as my own, you run into space problems really fast and your traditional studio monitors are not the most attractive component in this regard. These speakers solve that very problem, all while retaining beefy 4.5 drivers. Although frequency's don't go sub-bass, they do reach down to 60 which goes deeper than any other competitor in this price range. Will I want to upgrade to something more substantial eventually? Sure. But I've only been messing with music production for about a year and for someone who isn't in the professional realm yet, these will be your best option for the cost (in my opinion).

The best Studio Monitors at a crazy low price

For only $149.99 you're getting a very complete and professional package. They do not come with 1/4 inch cables so you will have to buy some. The sound reproduction is amazing and crisp. High-ends feel high and the low-end is not very muddy. When you are in the sweet spot everything becomes center as if there is another speaker in the middle. I very happy with these monitors!

Unbeatable price for unbeatable sound quality

Jbl's done it again excellent sound quality surprisingly big bass and Crystal clear sound quality I was surprised with the performance I purchase these for my Amazon echo and let me tell you turns my echo into a stereo system feels like you are listening to music on one of those pricey systems when all I had to do was buy the speakers this is great for an apartment or condo I like the way the speaker shut off all by themselves when not in use ideal for the echo sure is a product that stands for simplicity when other systems cost a whole lot more and don't even sound this good it just puts a smile on my face gives me a real studio sensation when I listen to my Amazon playlist love this product great job JBL keep it coming and by the way it sounds dope with my Alan Walker playlist
