Fell apart in less than a year... best customer service ever!

I am so disappointed. This thermometer lasted about 8 months. It was very accurate, easy to use, and I liked that the safe cook temps for meat were right there for reference. Despite careful washing, I noticed water behind the display last month. Shortly after that, I was washing it and ran my towel along the probe. The probe came unattached and it never worked again. What a waste... Edit Changed my rating. When the product failed me, I threw it away. It wasn't until I came to write this negative review that I saw it had a warranty. I assumed that since I didn't have the damaged item anymore, I wouldn't be able to send it in for replacement. Out of the blue, I received an email telling me that a new one was on the way. They saw my review and made it right. I didn't have to do anything. Customer service like this is a rarity. Thank you. I highly recommend this product!

Nicely Done Kizen

There are several types of digital cooking thermometers: 1) Those that read 'instantly' and are not meant to be left on the grill or in the meat and 2) Those that are meant to be left in the oven. Those thermometers that are meant to be left in the oven can be further divided into remote reading or not. There are advantages and disadvantages to both but my preference is for the instant read variety. Once you have decided upon your preference, accuracy is the next consideration since differences of a few degrees can mean well done or rare. And in certain cases (pork and chicken, for example) a few degrees undercooked can be potentially dangerous. This thermometer is both well-priced and fully featured. The seller seems to be a good one with concern for the buyer and anxious to make sure the product is suitable. I think this is a good purchase however I will report back after I have had more experience with it.

Great company selling a great product

Let's start with the customer service? Shortly after I placed my order I received an email from the company letting me know what to expect with the shipping and the product. Packaging: when I received the package, it was very well packed inside an outer package. Included in the package, were operating instructions, a temperature chart, and a THANK YOU note! They even provided Velcro to mount the device. I don't need the Velcro, because it has a very good magnet inside the case so I have it on the fridge...where it's handy. Then I got another email asking me if everything was in order. I feel so special.. Oh. The thermometer works great. I love how all this BBQ "experts" on YouTube spend a ton of money on those other Special thermometers. Ha, this is much better, and the customer service is stellar! dont fall for the hype, get this one!

Multipurpose, Reliable, Easy To Use Cooking Thermometer

This cooking thermometer comes with easy to read and follow directions. It more than lives up to it’s item description. It has a backlight button which can be used if needed. Is water resistant and extremely accurate. It can be used for anything that you may need an accurate temp for in the kitchen or on the grill. I’ve already used it for accurate water temps for different teas! Also comes with an extra battery when needed. It’s precalibrated and ready for use right out of the box. Can be recalibrated if ever needed with easy to follow directions, I already had a meat thermometer, but this new thermometer can also be used for meat. Like I said anything you need a cooking thermometer for this one will fill that need. You can even preset a min. and max temperature. The only cooking thermometer you’ll ever need. Price is also very reasonable. Reliable, durable, and is magnatized if you want to stick it on your frig or any other metal appliance rather than put it in a drawer. Company stands behind their product. I love this item. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cooking thermometer even if you just want it for meats.

Exceeds Expectations

This is a very cute thermometer package. The Kizen Company provides you with the nice digital thermometer, an extra battery (1), a set of stick-on velcro dots (don't ask me why), and a one page four-color owner's manual that is not quite correct English, but, still, is written in such a kind and personable way that you can't help but smile. The unit can be calibrated using an ice bath, and they give you very detailed instructions as to how to do this. Just in case you don't have a kitchen drawer, the thermometer is magnetized so you can stick it to any metal surface. You may just want to keep it on display! The only negative I see is that the meat cooking temperature guide on the side is a bit too complicated. That's one thing I like to have in a meat thermometer-- the temperatures printed right there so I don't have to look them up. This one goes out of its way to be detailed-- to the point where it's not very helpful.

Great in the kitchen

Waited a couple weeks of use to make this judgement. I love this little unit. It is easy to use. accurate, has some great simple features and really meets my need to check the temp of frozen food in microwave, bread dough rising, seeping temp for certain teas (not all are done at boiling) and the like. The built in magnet has made keeping it hand a real treat- stuck on side of microwave. The prove is small enough to go deep into large roasts and delicate enough to check temp in pre-formed burger patty. The extra features are easy to use- although I have not really had a need for them. Good job to manufactures- oh, did I mention it came with a spare battery! Great customer support.

Won't grill or BBQ without it now!

For years I've used a wired probe thermometer when BBQ'ing, yet always struggled with ensuring that the temp of the meat was exactly where it needed to be. Got this to see if it could help. Yep! Calibrated to assure its accuracy, instant read of meat temp, easy to use and read the temps. Works very well with steaks, chops, burgers, chicken, ribs, and other smaller cuts of meat. I still prefer the longer wired probe for big pork shoulders and the like for monitoring the longer cook times, but this is just as accurate. Like that it came with a spare battery and has a magnet to easily stick to any iron surface nearby. Highly recommended.

Handy tool to have around the grill

Very handy tool to have in your grilling arsenal. I own a different brand that was getting old. I went to wash it like normal and the metal sleeve pulled right out exposing the wires. I noticed a crack in the plastic pivoting piece that holds the probe in place. No warranty on it so time for a new one. The kizen instant read thermometer is an awesome tool. Looks to be very well constructed, is very easy to use, easy to read and comes already calibrated. They said it was fast read. Let me tell ya it is just that. In a matter of seconds the temp is displayed. This unit is way faster than my previously owned instant read was new outta the box. Very pleased with the purchase. Comes with a great warranty as well.

Amazing thermometer backed up by an equally amazing company

Amazing thermometer and an equally amazing company that stands behind their product I highly recommend it. I use it to check the thermals of my food I cook in my air fryer and it has been very reliable, did have an issue with mine but this company stands behind their products and I highly respect them for that. If you nerd a instant read one go with this one.
