I cleaned and seasoned the pan in the oven twice before cooking with it. So far I’ve cooked several dishes using both the pot and the lid/skillet and both have done very well!

I am still new at using the Legend Cast Iron Dutch Oven, but have found it works well as a baking vessel for my sourdough bread. Heats very evenly and retains the moisture within the dutch oven during baking which turns out a lovely loaf of bread.

I was taught to cook using cast iron, and buying this brought back all of the best memories. I especially like the lid/skillet combo... Best bacon and eggs ever. I've been obsessively seasoning it, since I got it... Making it non-stick is my goal. TIP: Seasoning with animal fats create better layers than vegetable oils.

Let’s start with the Cons - I did have to take some time seasoning it. You have to be diligent in making sure it is COMPLETELY dry before putting away. If not you will possibly see rust. However that is the nature of cast iron and if you just rewash it and season it again it should be fine. Pros. First and foremost is the customer service. LEGENDARY! The responded immediately on their first business day after receiving my email. Made sure I was 100 percent satisfied with solving my problem. The product appears very well made and I suspect it will last my lifetime if I take proper care of it. Be sure to read the information enclosed with the product. This Dutch oven is great as it is actually 2 products in one as the cover is a great sauté/skillet. The value for the price is excellent.
