One of the best fingerprint scanners I've used. I didn't use any of the software. Windows 10 hello found it and had me scan my fingers. I log in to windows on my laptop using it. 80% reads on first tap. Two taps 95%. Never had to tap four times!

Works perfectly fine.. If and only if I place my finger in the exact same spot every time. At first I couldn't get it to work until I figured this out. Since I set up many different positions of the same finger during setup, this has to be a Windows problem. It seems to only be using one particular fingerprint reading, even though I added many variations. The fingerprint reader does it's job. If you're having trouble getting a good reading, try using the exact same finger placement every time after finding one that works. For all the times it doesn't work, I blame Microsoft.

Surface Pro 3 recognized it and worked right out of the box. Scans quickly. Definitely recommend.

I purchased two of these for some older laptops were the OS was upgraded through the years from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I was able to setup Windows Hello with these readers without any issues. 99% of the time I login on the first time. Once in a while I need to reposition my finger for it to read but that is mainly due to the position of the USB port. Overall I'm happy with these readers and the price point.

works great for me and simple to use. Makes me more likely to lock my computer when I step away since it is easy to log back in. I have not tried it with multiple users so I will see how it works out and might update later.

The fingerprint reader learns your fingers, but you have to learn how to use it. For my first few days the scanner worked about 80%. Over a fews days I learned how to better place my finger to make it happy. Now it works 100% on first or second finger placement.

works perfectly in windows ten. if the initial driver install fails when you plug it in, just go to device manager, click on it, and click update driver. allow it to search windows update for drivers and it will install in about two seconds. I use this in my laptop and have left it plugged in while it was in my bag. I haven't seen it applying any pressure to the usb port. the reader never fails and logs me in instantly.

You know I reviewed a device BIO-key EcoID Fingerprint Reader - Tested & Qualified by Microsoft for Windows Hello - Eliminate Passwords on Windows 7/8.1/10 - Includes OmniPass Online Password Vault with Purchasethis year which was one of the earliest fingerprint scanners to have Windows Hello support. It was twice the price as this and ten times worse. This little USB dongle is beyond awesome! It's instantaneous, like your phone, inexpensive and works like a champ every time. And if it doesn't work, most likely it's due to poor finger placement, at least that is my experience. Highly recommended for your desktop or laptop.

Bought it for a Windows 10 computer (it's the only OS supported by it, according to the package). Plugged it in, and... it was there, working. I used it to register my fingerprint, and it just worked. I can use it to log in, unlock, and to log into LastPass. And it's not even a swipe action, you just rest your finger on it. It has an oblong LED light that is normal solid blue, but turns to flashing blue when its ready to do its thing... and if it gets a bad reading (or a different finger) it turns red, and when a successful reading occurs, it glows green for a few seconds. Note to laptop users, you can see from the picture there that it sticks out a bit, so it might be a problem depending on how you pack up your laptop for travel. I would never have this device on the bottom, you might wreck it, or the USB port it's in. QR code on the package links to user manual: [...]

I had to go to the Benss website to get the drivers but that was easily found on Google. It's fast. Was easy to setup after installing drivers. I use it with UGREEN USB Hub for easy access.
